Kustom Home Inspection

Do not use Kustom Home Inspection for your home inspection. We utilized the company in July of 2020 to inspect a home we were in contract for. There were multiple instances where the inspector was not thorough, and or, utilized an excuse to not inspect further. For example, the inspection report stated, "Sump pump was not accessible for testing due to being sealed for radon mitigation system." The house is sealed for radon, but the sump pump is easily accessible by removing an unsecured cover. Shame on me for not inquiring further, but isn't that what I paid them $400 for?

My husband and I are first time home buyers and I personally do not know anything about houses. For the inspection a friend who is a contractor come with me. Kyle was AMAZING!!!! He went through every nook and cranny of the house and taught me so soooo much about what to look for and things to keep an eye out for. He was incredibly nice, friendly and just willing to help me understand the things that might need repaired in the house and how to maintain the house in good condition. I would definitely recommend having them do your inspection if you need one!

This review could have been avoided if not for the extreme negligence in communication I have received from this company. First off, it took over 48 hours to get my report (they say you will have it 24 hrs after inspection) and only after repeated requests from me to get it. This was supposedly due to tech issues which they couldn't bother to tell me about. Then the pest and radon tests i asked for were not included but I was invoiced $230 for them. When asked they texted some numbers and said they would send the reports later that day. Still don't have them over a week later and they are useless to me now that the time to get out of my contract is passed. Now, after voicemail, texts and email requesting to speak with someone my calls are being ignored. I will be forced to seek out help from the BBB to get the issue resolved. Home buying is stressful enough without gross negligence from the "professionals" you rely on for information.

Kris was very professional, and presented a detailed inspection report with sound recommendations. I have no regrets hiring their services, because they were able to figure out areas of concern that no lay man could.

Very Good...inspector was really good at explaining things to me....pointing out shut off valves, meters etc.

Great. Inspector was on time and professional. Kind and explained everything in a way we as first time home buyers could understand. Worked with us through COVID concerns professionally. Gave us thurough report with colored pictures that was easy to read and will be nice to refer to

For heaven's sake - check the smoke detectors! I like these folks - they are outstanding and I've used them multiple times. But they inspected a home I bought last year and I had to sell a year later. In the new buyer's inspection they discovered the smoke detectors were inoperable. The only thing Kustom Home indicates is whether smoke alarms are installed or not. That doesn't mean they're operable. I emailed them and did not receive a response. It's such a simple thing--please go the extra step to find out if the smoke detectors actually work.

I had an absolutely excellent experience with Kustom Home Inspection. Chris Stout completed the inspection and Kyle Harrington performed the radon test. They were both exceptionally professional and friendly, and the final report was more detailed and thorough than I had imagined possible, with pictures of every potential issue and remediation suggestions. Throughout the inspection, Chris would explain various findings as he discovered them, and he was never in a rush. The price was completely reasonable, and I would absolutely use them again next time. Thanks for fantastic service!

Superior from start to finish ! Efficient, accommodating, courteous, highly professional, skilled, & thorough. Kyle pointed out & educated me on numerous items/issues that were essential for me to understand so that I could safely monitor as well as maintain my property. This young man knows his stuff !!! I would recommend Kustom Homes to any buyer, especially first time home buyers. Kyle was wonderful to work with. He showed up early to get a head start, so we could follow him around the rest of the time. He was beyond thorough and explained every issue in extensive detail. Not only was he so detailed in his inspection, he showcased an impressive knowledge of the science behind everything he was looking at, which for first time buyers is so interesting to learn about.

Both gentleman were phenomenal. They performed a home inspection and radon for our new home purchase. They beat me to the property and we’re on the roof when I pulled in. I couldn’t have asked for more. They did a great job and were very thorough. They even explained how to fix the minor issues they found. I just received the report this morning. The pics were great and the explanations and attention to detail are first class. Very impressed and happy with the quality of work, professionalism, and ease of explanations/remedies. Definitely would recommend to any and all. I absolutely will use them in the future!

The inspector (Chris, I think) was thorough in his inspection and explanations to us (1st time home buyers). We felt very prepared for what we were getting into and had minimal unexpected findings (all mild) during and after the move-in process.

It went very well. The inspector walk us around the property pointing things out to us and explaining why it was important. He also walked us through details of the house like which outlets are reset where as well as some details on the gas system.

Chis did a great job in detecting and documenting issues with a house that I was considering purchasing. He explained everything in terms that I could understand....it was quit an education. Very thorough job.

Inspection and tests were completed to satisfaction. Report was delivered next day as planned.

Outstanding. Kustom Home Inspection came to the rescue for me when my original home inspector was unable to complete the work because of a sudden illness. I contacted KHI and they were able to complete the inspection within three days. The home in question was an older home (built 1965) that needed upgrades because of past neglected maintenance. They did a very professional job and I had the opportunity to accompany the inspector during his inspection work and was also offered an opportunity to review the inspection report before it was finalized. Very satisfied and highly recommend them for a home inspection.

For buying a first home, I was blown away at the overall experience was. I had fun walking through the house with the inspector (Chris S). He did an amazing job educating me on every aspect of the house, what to look out for, what needs monitored, needs attention first, etc. We had a great time just talking along the way as well. There's a reason why I was referred to KHI and a reason why they are a well respected inspection company. Worth every penny.

Chris gave me a very detailed inspection with good suggestions and was very through. Checked moisture levels at any sign of discoloration everywhere, and saw details my untrained eyes would never have noticed.
