Ken was there on time and the entire process was highly professional and informative for the potential buyer of the home. Ken was very thorough and detail oriented. He answered all our questions and was very patient to show us things we inquired about as well as pointing out things we didn't ask him about. He gave us tips and gave us a well written report highlighting the findings to help us with our negotiations as well as to give us an idea what needed to be done to correct things in this "fixer-upper" home. I found Kustom home Inspections on Angie's list and was thrilled with my decision to hire them. They were very thorough with our home inspection and saved us from making a potentially bad investment. The inspector (Chris) explained everything he was looking at, why he was looking and potential fixes or issues that could arise. He was prompt friendly and very patient (I followed him around everywhere). We had a quick turn around and needed our report quickly. Chris left the inspection at 4pm and I had the report emailed to me and my agent by 9:30pm that evening! The report was extremely thorough and my agent said it was one of the best inspection reports she had received (wished the pictures would have been a little larger) but would be recommending them to all of her clients go forward. Ken found several items that needed repaired prior to the closing and made several recommendations for afterwards. Ken is very personable and easy going.

Ken did a very thorough job inspecting the home. The home was built in the 1940's and Ken made sure he did a great job checking everything out. Not only did he find the things we should be looking for, he also took the time to point out the things with the home that were done very well and beneficial to making me feel comfortable with my purchase.

Ken came out to inspect a home I'm in contract to buy. He is friendly, thorough, knowledgeable and really eased my mind when it came to prioritizing what type of things to have fixed prior to my move-in date. He took the time to show me things (new homeowner) about my future home I never would have known-things that will keep me safe! (How to turn off main gas supply, keeping dryer vent clean, electrical stuff, how to test sump pump...) It kinda felt like having my dad take care of me! He emailed his PDF report later to me that evening with color pictures and arrows pointing out issues. It was great! Radon results came in quickly too. I feel confident moving into my new home thanks to Ken. He was patient and willing to answer any question I threw at him. He returned all phone calls and replied to my emails in a timely manner, both before and after the inspection. Good guy. Highly recommend!

Ken is great to work with. Funny, he's a big guy, but can crawl up into or under any area which needs inspected and come out with an expert evaluation for you. He also gives guidance on what you need to know to prepare yourself as a new homeowner. I don't have a ton of experience with home inspections since this was only my second home, but Ken brought up everything potentially wrong with the house and created a huge report with red flags for the most critical. It was a great negotiation tool for the seller who didn't want to fix much at the time. Problem for the seller, now the information would have to be disclosed to anyone else wanting to buy so he had to deal with me or someone else. Bottom line, the problems were going to need fixed if he wanted to sell the house.

After going into contract on our new home, we searched high and low on the internet for an independent inspection company and felt more unsure than before we started. We decided to sign up for AL and Kustom Home Inspection was the top-rated home inspector, and as a bonus, even had a coupon! After checking out there profile on AL and their reviews, I decided to give them a call. Not to sound cliche, but we are glad we did. I talked to the owner, Ken, for about 15-20 minutes on the phone and peppered him with all kinds of questions regarding home inspection, gadgets/gizmos, etc. Ken was very professional, very polite, and very knowledgeable. Even though he and his staff were scheduled to be serving as instructors the next three days after our potential inspection date, he assured me that even if he had to bring visiting guest speakers to the home with him, he was willing to do the job and do it right. On the day of inspection, two members of his team, Chris and Ken (different one), were at the house before we were and were both already hard at work. They were very diligent, professional, thorough. They made sure to take time to point out any potential problems and answer our questions. They were more than happy to walk us through everything, even the most minor of issues (including updates to code). And even though they were scheduled to be at a conference early the next morning, they made sure that we had a complete report w/ photos, radon report, and insect report emailed to us by the next morning. I can't say enough good things about the experience and would recommend Kustom Home Inspection to anyone without hesitation.

Ken at Kustom Home was great! He took his time going through the inspection and did a thorough job. He answered all of our questions and taught us about basic maintenance of things such as the furnace, grading of the yard, minimizing the risk for pests and moisture in the home, etc. As first time home-buyers, this was extremely helpful to us. We learned what repairs and upkeep tasks were needed on the home, and he explained his recommendations. I also have severe allergies to mold, so Ken thoroughly inspected for mold. I highly recommend Ken and Kustom Home to anyone in need of a Home or Termite Inspection!

We called to schedule a home inspection on a Thursday. We asked for the following Saturday so we both could be there. Ken told us he was teaching a class for home inspectors (nice!) and he could get us in for the Saturday coming up! We were surprised by the quick service. Our appointment was for 3 pm. We arrived about 5 mins early to find Chris already there and starting the outside inspection. So far off to a great start! My husband followed Chris the whole time and his communication was excellent. He answered all of our questions and showed us how to opperate and fix future issues. He spent nearly two hours going over our new house. We felt completely happy and secure knowing we hired the right company, and person, to complete our home inspection. At the end, Chris told us he would provide our complete write up the next day. However, we actually received the write up about 2 hours later via e-mail. It was very detailed and complete with pictures and recommendations. It was more than what we were expecting! We were able to go back to the sellers regarding three major issues that need addressed. We would not have known about these issues without Chris' help. I am 100% satisfied with our purchase!

When I first called him he answered the phone and we scheduled an appointment for a certain date; he followed up with an emailed confirmation of the date and time. He came exactly on time for the appointment, bringing an assistant with him. He was extremely thorough. The inspection took about three hours. He took pictures as well. I received the complete report emailed to me by mid-afternoon. He was thorough in his remarks and suggestions and sent email addresses to help me check some additional information.

Very pleasant experience. As I continue my search for a new home, I will certainly use Kustom Home Inspection again.

Walked through with us, took lots of photos, explained issues he saw and how serious they were. Got a 40 page detailed home inspection packet after with photos and documentation which has been so helpful to refer back to. I'd use him again in a heartbeat!

Overall it is a A+ expereince. It was a hort notice to Ken but he squeed me in with only a 2-day notice. The day of inspection was snowing and I got there late myself. Chris the inspector was already there on time and has done some inspection. What is nice about the service was that he explains to me on what he was doing and answered any questions I had at any time. Not only did Chris pointed out problems and explained the remedies and cost associated with it, he also told me how to fix things and even fixed the faucet up there. I have read and write many engineering reports/proposals in my career. The report they provided was top quality with pictures and descriptions. I had the chance to see a previous inspection report and it is the day and night difference. I would use them again if I are going to purchase another unit and would recommend them without any reservations.

It went very well. They were on time and were very professional and pleasant in all of our dealing with them. As we walked through with them for the inspection, they pointed out lots of things - good, bad and maintenance tips about the house. After the inspection was over, we were provided with a detailed report that same day. It's been a year since we bought the house and there was really only one thing that we've found so far that they could have missed but it wouldn't have stopped us from buying the house. There was a water spot on the ceiling in our laundry room that we thought was old because it didn't look wet the day of the inspection. It turns out that an upstairs toilet was not properly installed and was leaking. As I said, we still would have bought the house but probably would have asked the prior owners to remedy that problem. We would hire them again and found them to be much better than the guy we used at our last house years back.

He spent a lot of time, helped us resolve some issues, and was someone that I would definitely hire again.

Chris (Inspector) and Ken (owner) were great! Ken promptly answered or returned my phone calls and explained everything to me thoroughly. Chris was early to the appointment and spent a long time answering our questions and explaining everything to us. Such a great experience. Our Realtor even commented on him being the best inspector that she has worked with and has recommended him to other clients. Thanks for making us comfortable with our first home purchase. I have already recommended you to all of our friends.

I contacted Mr. Harrington via e-mail with some basic questions about his inspection business. Among the questions I asked him were reasonable inquiries such as the number of inspections he had performed, whether he carried insurance and/or E&O coverage, whether he was licensed, and other basic inspection matters. Apparently Mr. Harrington has, and I quote here, "done far too many inspections for too many years to take the time to submit an interview", whatever this means. I understand that questions such as "who will be doing my inspection?" are terribly complicated, but to state plainly that you do not have time to answer simple questions is unprofessional and rude. Don't bother asking Kustom anything about their process; it's too secret to reveal.

Ken did an excellent job explaining his findings & answering our questions. He trains other home inspectors, & it shows. He even provided us with a home care manual. Highly recommended.
