Jim was terrific! Fast, neat, thorough, highly professional. He worked to accommodate our work schedules as well. We are very pleased and would not hesitate to hire him again.

Jim was prompt to respond to my initial inquiry, came out and gave me a reasonable quote and then scheduled an appointment. He had to reschedule, but called to let me know and we moved it up 1 day. Jim arrived and went to work, never stopping and completed the job in about 5 hours. Cleaned up and saved all the light fixtures and hardware so that I can take to a rehab store. Excellent service :)

Price was competitive, they were always prompt, always cleaned up, always friendly, and offered suggestions that saved me money and time. Jim the owner nearly always answered my phone calls and on the rare occasion I got his voicemail he was prompt with the return call. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them for any future electrical work.

The guys showed up on time and did the work as requested. They performed the tasks efficiently, neatly and were most of all very friendly.

It was a very smooth process. Mr. Hartley was easy to reach over the phone for an appointment. After speaking with him, he came in to see exactly what I wanted to have done and to give me an estimate for the cost and time needed to complete the job. The work was then completed a few days later. I was very satisfied and would use this company again in the future.

All my tasks for them went very well. That covers installing air conditioning units, new electrical panels, replacing GFI's, taking down and rehanging light fixtures, etc.

We have had some communication issues with getting in contact with the provider.

We arrived home from our week long vacation to find that we only had one phase of power to our house (dryer, A/C, oven, water heater all wouldn't work). I immediately went to Angie's List and found James Hartley Electric. I called James at approximately 8:30PM. He returned my call within an hour and directed me to make sure we contact AEP because issues like this are normally on their side. He let us know that once AEP came out that we should give him a call in the morning if work still needed to be done. Jim was correct with regards to most of the issue being AEP's. An AEP electrician arrived at approximately midnight and opened the meter box outside to find one of the two phases coming into the house had broken off inside the box due to the cable settling over time in the ground. AEP extended up the one wire but let us know we needed to hire an electrician to replace the box (it had been burnt by the loose wire and the wire broke the lug from the box). We called James the next morning and he was able to come out before lunch. He replaced the meter box and got us hooked back up with electricity. James was very helpful through the whole process and was able to get our electricity restored in less than 24 hours. He was very personable and went over everything with me. He was very reasonably priced, especially for responding to our problems so quickly. We highly recommend James Hartley Electric.

He had to come three or four times to do the job. He was very knowledgeable and friendly I am very happy with his work.

Jim was great to work with! Called on a Saturday and he came out on Monday after 5 PM just as we discussed.

Jim was very responsive to inquiries, pleasant, and honest. We've used him two times - both times his estimate was lower than another quote we received. He was able to complete the work soon after we called him. We'd definitely call him again if we had an electrical issue.

James Hartley came out within one day of my call to give me my estimate. He was very honest about what he felt needed to be done, and that it may take less time and therefore cost less to do the job. He is very thorough and makes certain that his work is done right. He takes the time to explain what he's doing and why. On the day he came to do the work (which was within one week of the estimate), he was prepared, not only with the tools and supplies he needed, but also with booties and tarps to keep the house as clean as possible. Once he began working, he rarely stopped, and finished the job (and repaired additional items as well), for the price and in the time frame that he had estimated for me. I was very impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, promptness, courtesy, tidiness and overall pride he takes in his work. In sum, he's exactly what I look for in a contractor. I will definitely utilize his services again whenever I need electrical work, and I highly recommend him to anyone needing electrical services.

Jim did a great job inside my house and out. I will use him again and will tell my friends and neighbors who would need a great electrician to use Jim.

Not much to say other than perfect as usual. I've used Jim on a number of past jobs, and will use him in future for any and all electrical needs. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and trustworthy. We had no qualms leaving him in the house alone while my wife had to run out and pick up the kids. The work Jim does is top notch, and a great value.

The service date and cost are admittedly both approximate. I've used James Hartley three times over the last few years, both for my own home and for investment properties, and he has always been terrific. Great value, and great work. Very professional and friendly. I have also referred him to friends and co-workers 3-4 times, and I have always gotten glowing reports back. I am a new member to Angie's list, that's why I have never rated him (or anyone) before. I am about to call him for some work on a new house, and thought I would take a moment and review his past work.

He did a good job. We didn't hire him. He was sub-contracted from Homecrafters. He wasn't here very long. I didn't have any problems with him. I don't know how much the job cost because it was all included with the remodeling that we did and he was sub-contracted. He was in and out but what he did was good. We didn't actually do work with him. We didn't know when he was scheduled to come out but he showed up fairly quickly. I would use him again in the future.

I was happy with the work overall. I had purchased two outside porch lights and when they put them on, he said that the torches that should have been included were not in the box. I called the manufacture and they did not see why they wouldn?t have been in the box, but they were nice enough to send additional torches for me. The electrician did a good job overall, however, and he also programmed the motion detector for me, which turned out well.
