Jim was very nice and knowledgeable. Great at his craft. HIt him with a number of various electrical requests and he was able to handle them all without issue and was incredibly quick and neat. Have had him back a second time to do other work and am getting ready to call him for a third project. He provides a number of options to you and always looks out for the most cost effective path forward that still gets you the type of service you are looking for. Just an excellent professional.

Would not return calls. After 48 hours I called and got him on the phone and he promised to call me by end of week. No luck. Did good work for me before but I had same problem. Hard to understand how he stays in business.

Needed to replace two smoke detectors. A friend started the job and ran into a snag and couldn't complete. Put out feelers for this small job. One company, a handyman service run by an acquaintance, quoted me an inflexible trip charge of $150 plus $50 for each additional half hour. Jim Hartley waived the trip fee because the job was small...he actually offered to do so, I didn't ask! Jim identified the problem the minute he crossed the threshold (a third smoke detector, tucked away in the furnace closet, standard for my floor plan but unbeknownst to me). Friendly, professional, smart, finished in a timely fashion. Jim Hartley is fantastic!

Very well! Jim Hartley performed the work. I have used his services in the past. He is professional and knowledgeable. Many of my lighting issues were resolved due to him. I am thrilled with the services that he provided and my new ceiling fans, outside light and basement light.

I called Jim and left a message after another electrician I hired stood me up. He returned my call the next morning. I am ashamed to say, I thought he was the electrician who stood me up and I was incredibly rude to him. Once I realized my mistake, I called back and apologized profusely. He was amiable about it and agreed to do the service. We scheduled time for the coming Saturday. My appointment was at 1 pm, but he called at 11:30 to see if it was okay to come early. I said it was. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, definitely reliable, and experienced. I will be calling Jim in the future when I need an electrician. I highly recommend him.

Jim was very punctual and professional! He called back as soon as he was available to schedule an appointment and arrived just when he said that he would. He worked to diagnose my electrical issues and helped me to fix them. I would recommend Jim to anyone!

Jim clearly knows electrical. He was on time, neat in the installations and personable. I will definitely call Jim again for my electrical needs. I couldn't have been more pleased. In the future I will need ceiling fans installed and low voltage lighting for a flagpole.

Great, he was punctual professional and knew what he was doing, I will hire him for some work I'm planning this summer.

Jim was just one of the electricians I called from my Angie's List recommendations and he was willing to stop by after 7PM when I was home to "take a look". I had a new piece installed in less than an hour and under $300. I would absolutely call on Jim again for any electrical work!

You are dealing with the owner himself, that way he can be responsive to your needs.

The quoting price was a little high. The experience was fine. He came promptly and gave me a quote.

I emailed James on Sunday afternoon & he called back about an hour later. He was walked me through possible solutions & told me if I still had a problem to call him & we could set up an appointment. I have some other electrical work that I plan on having his company to complete for me.

Hartley Electric followed up on my call as promised, arrived as scheduled to evaluate a non-functional attic fan and recommend how to proceed. I thought the guys went the extra mile on the diagnostics and evaluation, pointing out that the existing fan blade was undersized for the task and offering to attempt to find a better alternative. (They did.) Work was good. Communication was thorough and easy for a non-electrician to understand. There were no surprises. I will not hesitate to call the next time I need electrical work.

It was an easy fix. The only negative was that he was an hour late. I took time off of work and he called me at the time of our appointment to tell me he was going to be late. If it wasn't for this, I would have been completely satisfied. He could have called me ahead of time to alert me of his tardiness so I wasn't sitting around waiting -- just felt really inconsiderate because I definitely understand running behind schedule, but I don't understand not giving a heads up. My time is important, too.

Jimmy came in January to look through the property and told me he would give me a quote within a week. That would have been a big job, definitely in multiple thousands of $$. Called him back multiple times since I hadn't heard back within the week, he finally called back a month after the initial meeting that he was waiting on a supplier of a part to give a quote. He said that he will touch base again in a couple of days. I called him again and emailed him 2 weeks after that exchange. Now it is April. Based on the reviews I'm sure he's a good electrician, but I fear he's the type who avoids confrontation at the slightest difficulty. All he needed was an email letting me know that he's not interested in the job. That would have taken him 2 seconds. I would not trust such a person to do any job on your house.

It went great. He got back to me right away. He came out right away. He was on time, showed us everything he was doing and what he did. Very reasonable. Just went really really well.

Jim was professional and responsive. He was running a bit late and called to let us know...very much appreciated. He and his team came in, got right to work, got the job done, check it over with us, cleaned up and were done. Very professional and did a fine job.

This was the third time that James did work for us, and on each occasion he was on time, professional, and efficient. He listened to what we wanted done, made helpful suggestions about placement of the outlets and switches and cleaned up when he was done with the installations.

We had an appointment for 10 a.m. that day, but Jim called to tell me that he was running about a half hour late. I appreciated that he took the time to let me know. He systematically moved through all of the tasks, cleaning everything up as he went along. Everything he did works great!
