Hydra Basement Waterproofing

Pat from Hydra Basement Waterproofing was very knowledgeable and courteous. He took the time to explain the causes of our basement issues. Pat then recommended solutions without any sales pressure. We had a basement waterproofing system installed along with I-beams on a bowed wall. The beams were installed using Hydra?s patented system that will allow the basement ceiling to be finished. The Hydra crew arrived on time and were very professional. They answered any questions we had and did a great job cleaning up. The waterproofing system works great and cured our basement water problems completely. We highly recommend Hydra for basement repairs.

Pat Kirby was a pro from the get-go. He provided attentive, prompt service and articulately responded to our inquiry about a competitor's quote. We even set an earlier deadline because of my wife's pregnancy and he was able to meet it, as promised. The work was done on time and punctually. Everything appears to be installed exactly as described -- we'll see what happens during the next really bad storm. I am very happy to know leaking in my basement should no longer be a problem EVER again for the life of this house. Only quibbles: We weren't prepared for the one-month delay in returning furniture to our basement (it takes that long for the cement to dry). Also, we probably would have done a better job removing ALL items from the basement if we knew how dusty it would be (there's dust even in other parts of the house, which is probably unavoidable given the small size of our house and the magintide of the job). These are small issues that wouldn't have mattered much at it all if we'd been properly warned. Overall, Pat Kirby is a very trustworthy and will do right by you and your home. UPDATE: Pat Kirby called my wife because he had some concerns about this review. (Apparently, straight As isn't enough?) If there's any doubt: He REALLY cares about providing outstanding customer service. In case I didn't make it clear enough before, Hydra is an excellent provider.

Excellent. Pat's suggestions worked perfectly. We were able to perform the work ourselves, and have had a completely dry basement since. In the end, we got the outcome we need and saved between $6k-$10k.

I have used them for installing sealed sump pump systems with auxiliary pump with battery backup, and they have also come out to properties for putting up steel I beams along bowing walls, identifying solutions for water intrusion, and they have always been great. I have watched their guys in action and they are polite, professional, and efficient. They even put down plastic and clean up after themselves so your basement is cleaner after they come than before!

I had gotten three estimates to have the walls in my basement supported as they were beginning to sag. Pat was the best at explaining what his company could do and also had the best system for the problem that I had. I had many questions and he was always willing to listen and give me a straight answers.Pat and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. Everyone was very professional and the work was completed to my satisfaction. Once they finished they made sure to clean the basement and left it in great shape. Their people were excellent, knowledgable and efficient. Their work and workmanship was excellent. They did what really needed to be done without trying to sell me a load of things that i really did not need. I could not be happier with them or the results. They have made my basement a place I am now proud to use, it is now safe, the air quality and radon levels are within acceptable ranges, the humidity levels have drastically dropped and everything is dry.

Pat and his crew were excellent in every way. They were there when they said they would be and they fairly priced fixes that were necessary and found while performing the work. They timely responded to questions. They cleaned up after everything and you would never have known they were here. My crawl space is now dry and bright and useable space for storage. I also was given advice about necessary downspout fixes outside my house. I had three companies come out to give estimates. All well known names in town. One's estimate was a total joke ( they didn't even diagnose the problem): one diagnosed the issues and was quite professional but was priced $$2,000 more then Hydra for the same work. I chose Hydra and got first rate work.

Pat (owner) was very professional, courteous and customer focused when I agreed to our contract. He explained the work process and showed photo examples of what his team (led by Mark) proposed to complete. Mark and his team were courteous and also very knowledgeable of their trade. He also answered my detailed and random questions throughout. I also completed the option to hire an architectual engineer for documented inspection (which passed). The permit was also approved by City of Columbus. I would hire this company again if needed for future services.

Pat at Hydra Basement Waterproofing was very easy to work with! He called me promptly about scheduling a time to come out to give me a quote. He showed up a few minutes early and had to wait for me to get home which didn't appear to be a problem. He was very thorough in his quote and gave me some good suggestions of what I should consider for my basement encapsulation. I was impressed with his level of knowledge. Since it was a one day job, he was going to try to fit me when he could. It was probably only a few weeks before he called to let me know that he could do it. Pat showed up first the day of the job and his team of 3 guys showed up shortly after. They got right to work and were very professional. They made sure to cover my floors and they did an excellent job keeping the workspace clean. The team did a great job! It ended up taking a second day but again the team arrived on time. They were very friendly and courteous and they were able to work around my 4 year old daughter. In addition, they helped to move some of the heavy tubs that I needed to get back in the crawlspace. They were more than willing to help and they didn't appear put out. I would highly recommend Hydra Basement Waterproofing to anyone who is looking to have work done in their basement!

Pat is an extremely professional and honest man. He was very detailed in the work that needed be done and did not try to up sell us or pressure us on any work. During the project, we found out that there was going to be some extra costs because of interior structure problems and that our downspouts did not go to the street. Pat & his team called us and told us what we would need and gave us a very accurate estimate on the fix. His team also fixed a second drain without me even asking to. Which was highly appreciated. They were very clean and his team left the basement in the same condition that it was before the work started. Pat also gave me some great information on how to continue to care for the basement. The encapsulation is well worth the money and the entire project was well under the cost that other bigger companies had quoted us at (almost half). In conclusion: If you need basement work done, I would highly recommend him.

We had an exceptionally heavy rain and my back up pump kicked on which caused my alarm to sound. i called them and they gave me a mini crash course on how to operate the back up pump. There was also a large amount of rocks in my window well, they removed them and left me a bag of pea gravel.

I had to call him several times only because I thought of new questions and pat was very patient with me and always took time to talk it through with me.

We had a small window of opportunity where the drywall was removed in our basement (because of a fire) and Pat worked hard to get our house squeezed into their tight schedule. The solution the provide is "different" than I was expecting. I thought they would seal the cracks in the basement. Instead, they install a system to isolate and reroute the leaking water back to where it belongs (under the floor where the drains and sump pump can deal with it). It's an innovative solution that deals with the water now instead of leaving the water to try to find another way into the basement. I'm happy with the solution provided. The timing was near perfect, our basement drywall will be replaced early next week (about a week after the crack repair) and I appreciate the efforts of the folks at Hydra Basement to get our basement fixed in the tight time frame.

Our basement had started leaking several years ago and it had become worse over the last two years. We had bids from several contractors and Hydra was the lowest as well as highly rated on Angie's List. The contractor was professional and knowledgable. We elected to wait several months before starting and it was not a problem for Hydra. They are very accomodating. The workers were very helpful and ready to assist with any large items that needed to be moved out opf their way. The work took 4 days. They installed plastic over everything before starting and used a large commercial air filter to keep the dust to a minimum. There is no way to keep dust from being generated with concrete removal but Hydra did all they could to minimize it. Two days after they had completed the job we had heavy rain, and received over 2" of rain in a 48 hour period. There was not a sign of water in the basement then and we continue to be water free. I would recommend Hydra and use them again.

Pat and his team of Mark and Randy are true professionals. They are everything you would wish for in an angieslist provider. Could be the best experience to date on angieslist for us. Pat is very thorough and detailed. His concern for your home is just like he would have for his own property. He made several visits before and after the install of the beams. We had 3 estimates for the work, and Pat was not the lowest. He was by far the most interested in doing the work and developing the best solution for us. Pat followed up and let us know he wanted the job. Pat, Mark, and Randy saved us time and money by developing a solution in very tight quarters. Mark was able to develop a solution that resulted in us NOT having to move the furnace--this was huge !! We did not have to hire a plumber to move the gas line for the furnace--another huge benefit--they just figured it out. Mark and Randy cut out a metal cabinet that was in the way of one of the beams to be installed.(I was supposed to do it). They cleaned the place spotless when they finished the job. Mark was on his hands and knees wiping the floor clean when the job was done !!! --(Tell me where you would ever find this kind of work ethic???) I really think they are one of the best providers we have ever used on AngiesList. (Integrity, trust, and work ethic).

We purchased a home and were concerned about moisture in the basement, so Pat came to do an estimate for waterproofing. As other reviews noted, Pat is very knowledgeable and more important, honest. Pat examined the basement and recommended we contact the builder if we note any foundation dampness after the next rain--he believes there might issues with blockage of the weeping holes. Because our home is still under the builder's structural warranty, he said wateringproofing would likely void the warranty, and we want to have the builder address the problem. Pat could have easily quoted us a price rather than be concerned with the true problem. I would not hesitate to call him again or recommend him to others.

There were no charges made for the job they did. They did it as a complimentary. For them, it’s the floor that they guarantee, not the wall. They were good. They were initially kind of dusty because one of the reasons why we picked them was it was being done free but then after we addressed our problem, they took care of it. He came right away when I called him and then he called me and asked me if he could come by that day to do it and I said yes. Their pricing is about average. I needed to ask a question and they acted on that so he was being prompt. They were pretty punctual.

We were very pleased with the service. They were reasonably priced, efficient and worked quickly. They also cleaned up after themselves. We were very happy with the work.

Originally, I had contacted another basement company that I met at the Home and Garden Show to quote for a crawlspace encapsulation. The rep arrived and told me that we had definite signs of a serious underground water problem and quoted first $17,000 which then came down to $15,000 to do a complete repair of the problem. Towards the end of a very hard sell, I really began to have suspicions so I did not sign and checked Angie's List. Luckily, I found Hydra! The owner Pat came over and did a complete inspection of our basement and could find NO issues of concern except for an old (now dry) area in one corner where we had a downspout problem in the past. He assured me that we did not need any type of extensive repair. I was so thrilled with his honesty that we decided to go ahead and contract him to do the crawlspace encapsulation. He also agreed to have his guys scrape and repaint the unsightly corner with water-proof paint. His two workers arrived on time and were professional and hard working. They helped us remove some original builder's debris and heavy items from the crawlspace. Then they added some insulation around the top of the wall and laid down dimple board on the floor before covering it all with a high-gauge vinyl(?) layer. At the end of the job, they even offered to check for a clogged downspout which they cleared for us. They were very kind, polite and (refreshingly) happy to be working for Hydra. I would like to thank Pat, Noah and Rich for doing an excellent job and their outstanding business integrity. I highly recommend this company!

Wonderful experience. Gave a thorough review of the basement and confirmed no issues to be addressed. I agree with other reviewers, they don't go out to 'sell' you something. They are professionals and their integrity shows. If I do have problems in the future, they will be the first I call.

Pat is extremely knowledgeable about crawlspaces. He presented several options to me, and helped me work within my budget to address the issues in my crawlspace. He arrived promptly and completed work in the timeline specified. When I needed Pat to come back at a later date to help me with a minor issue, he did so free of charge and the next business day after I called. Incredible service!! I recommend him to all my friends and neighbors.

The work crew spent 5 days at our house which was a long process. They were very courteous and considerate of our home and keeping the mess to a minimum. They kept us informed of what was going on with daily updates. Hydra was very professional at all times.

Pat kirby from hydra came and determined that I actually had a plumbing issue. He referred me to another professional who did an exceptional job in making repairs. Although I cannot speak directly to pat's waterproofing services, I can speak with confidence about his integrity.
