From the start, I have been extremely pleased with this company. The owner arrived promptly at our appointment time for the estimate and had a completed proposal delivered to me via email the following business day. Once I notified them that they were getting the job, they moved quickly and were very thorough and businesslike concerning scheduling and providing me with a list of items that I was to provide versus the items that they were to provide. They provided all building materials and I provided shower tile, floor tile, vanity, mirror, and shower doors. The project manager was great and stopped by nearly every day to make sure that their crews knew what was going on and to check on the progress. The crews arrived in a very coordinated, organized way so that work was moving along continually on my bathroom until it was finished (except weekends). The crews were very respectful of my family and property. They were on time. I felt absolutely comfortable having them in my home whether or not I was here. The quality of the work is great. Everything is beautiful - the workmanship is impeccable. I will definitely use them for other projects. I started out dreading this project because of a bad experience that I previously had with another company. However, the work went so smoothly that I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and am no longer dreading future projects. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The Handyman Guys did a complete remodel of my bathroom which included stripping everything down (including the ceiling) and redoing it all. They installed porcelain tile floor, drywall, glass tile shower, new closets, plumbing, new lighting, etc. They relocated a sink from the hallway between the bathroom and bedroom to the bathroom.

I took 3 days off work to allow for this 1.5 day job. Day 1 - showed up on time, no ladder, and afraid of heights. I loaned ladder and Sawzall. Day 2 - drywall installers showed up with 1 short ladder. I provided ladder, razor blades, protective glasses, electrical outlet box, and even drywall when they ran out. Day 3 - finishers showed up, no ladder, afraid of heights, refused to do the job w/o scaffold. Day 4, 6, 7, 8 - new finisher showed up on time every day - using my ladder - he did an excellent job of finishing drywall; took 3+ days of exhausting work to finish large job single handedly. I put up plastic to seal off rooms and cover furniture. Day 9 - I installed/wired my own outlet. They were all very nice people who worked very hard. They were just ill prepared with staff and equipment. This job definitely needed a scaffold. I willingly chose to provide the missing tools/supplies in order to try to keep to schedule. I still ended up having to move my work schedule several days in order to accommodate the overrun. Brian (owner?) who had estimated the job originally - did not really appreciate my feedback to him on how he had under-estimated the complexity of the job. Nor did I receive any credit for my time, contributions.
Description of Work: On a 23' (2 story) fireplace. Remove remaining 2.5 sheets of OSB. Install and finish 5-6 sheets of drywall. Install 1 outlet box for already wired outlet. Repair/patch cracked corner bead on other wall. No priming or painting. Floors did not need protected. Was told it would be a straight-forward 1.5 day job.

[member name removed], I apologized that the job took longer than expected. I offered to give you a credit, in which you declined and said it was not about the money. Please do not say that I did not appreciate your feedback because how could you possibly know that? We spoke over the phone and I spoke with my team that afternoon regarding your job. I offered to come back and hook up the outlet, in which you refused. You watched my guys the whole time and offered your equipment the second they did not have anything right next to them. The bottom line is we finished the job and we did a good job for you.

I think they were good to work with. The guy did a nice job. He cleaned up after himself. He was very personable. He told me what he was doing and gave me a couple of options about why we should do it one way or another and let me make an informed decision. I was pretty happy with the work they did. They were a lot lower than anyone else who quoted us.

The company was prompt to respond to our request for an estimate. The estimate was provided in a timely manner and was very thorough. We decided not to use this company because the estimate was about $9,000 higher than other estimates we received for the same scope of work.

Called for quote on bath remodeling project. Company president arrived as scheduled to take measurements for quote. Two weeks passed with no response. Called to ask if they are going to quote project. I was told that he emailed the quote. When I said I did not receive it, we verified my email address and I sent an email to his address so that he could simply respond to that email. I received no email (suggesting to me that a quote had not been produced nor was it ever sent). It has been an additional 5 days since the promise that the quote would be re-sent via email. I have received no quote and no follow up call. Unfortunately, this is typical of many small contractors in the area.

I had several repairs that were needed including exterior painting, glass replacement, siding repair and replacing nails in soffits and exterior trim. The estimate went fine and I selected the company on the professionalism displayed by the estimator, even though the price was higher than other companies. During the estimate I expressed my concerns regarding the repairs. The main concern was a repair to re-attach vinyl siding. Another company had been out and simply re-connected the loose piece to the channel. The siding came loose about a week later. So this time I talked in great detail about the how siding was to be correctly re-attached. The soffit needed to be removed. The siding removed, adjusted and re-installed. The estimator agreed that that was needed to be done to properly re-attach the siding and estimated several hours of labor to complete the job. I was told that the repair was completed as agreed upon in the estimate, but instead I found that the repairman removed nothing and simply spent about three minutes pounding several nails through the siding. The siding has been damaged and now has holes and needs replaced. The nails that needed replaced in the soffits and trim never got replaced and I was told that the repairs had been made. While painting the shutters one of them was damaged. They did not bother to tell me and when I discovered it, the man doing the repair said that he would put some duct tape on the back and paint over it. Because it was up high nobody would notice. I insisted that it be replaced. The shutter did get replaced but somehow they managed to get paint all over the siding and left it. The last repair was to replace a piece of glass in an exterior sun room window. The repairman left a board proper against the glass to hold the glass in place along with a note that said not to open the doors because the glass may fall out. I looked at the repair and was surprised to find that the window looked nothing like the other windows and was missing the trim that holds the glass in place. I called the company and was told that they broke the trim so the repairman used some calking to hold the glass in place. I canceled my $940.00 check and refused to pay for the work that had not been completed. I did pay $200.00 for the piece of glass but regret paying anything now that I have the $1600.00 estimates to replace the siding that was damaged, purchase new trim and properly make the repairs. If anyone would like I have pictures.

Brian and his team of guys completed the job in a timely fashion and were very respectful while they were working.
Description of Work: We had just about the whole interior of our house including 1st 2 floors and basement repainted. This included all bathrooms too. The Handyman Guys did a great job and the price was well worth it. We also had several chandeliers and bathroom lights removed and replaced which worked out great. Oh and we had some minor misc. handyman jobs completed such as hanging new towel bars, putting in a new doorbell and installing child safety locks on cabinets. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

Sinding on house had become loose in two places. We were concerned that the siding would come off if there were strong winds. Brian's crew showed up Tuesday morning to tear out the old windows and install the new ones. I believe about five to six guys were on the job. Within six hours or so they had removed our old rotten windows, replaced them with new double-hung windows, completely cleaned up and hauled away the debris. We were impressed in how fast, but through the Handyman Guys were. My brother is looking for someone to replace the windows in his home and we would not hesitate to recommend Handyman Guys for the big jobs. Next year we plan to totally renovate the kitchen and Handyman Guys will be the first contractor we consider.
Description of Work: We had used Brian Cady and Handyman Guys last year to remodel our bathroom and replace the windows on the second floor. It was time to take care of the windows on the first and we chose to do with Handyman Guys again. Our prior experience led us to expect we were making the right choice.
I was really happy with his professionalism, his responsiveness, and his willingness to be flexible. He used a sub-contractor, an electrician. He arranged everything so he was the one that made it happen. The electrician was really good. I just had a number of little projects around my condo that I needed help with. I felt the price was reasonable and it didn't take much time. I left them because I had a doctor's appointment and I came home a couple of hours later and everything was done. They cleaned up after themselves. There was no mess. I wasn't here when they finished the work so he followed up. He came back and double checked with me to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. I would recommend him. I even told my girlfriend about him. I will definitely call him if I have anything else that I need to get done.
Description of Work: Handyman Guys installed a ceiling fan in my bedroom. He separated the light and the fan in my bathroom that were always connected. He also hung a heavy mirror on a brick wall for me and put in an over-the-range microwave.

Winds had broken a privacy fence post that also compromised the attached fence. Workers came out and fixed the post and fence, but did not line it up with the other posts on the privacy fence. I called Handyman and they came out and completely reset the post and lined up the post and fence with the rest of the privacy fence and it looks perfect. They were nice and neat and cleaned up after their work.

Brian Cady was very professional and performed work in a timely manner. I did have problems with leaks from (2) of the toilets after they were installed. Brian had those repairs completed promptly. Overall, I'm satisfied with their work.
We called Handyman Guys to get an estimate on some tuckpointing and interior plaster repair work (caused by water damage from the poor condition of our brickwork). Brian came out and gave us an estimate on the tuckpointing of our front porch, tuckpointing and capping three different three story chimneys, and repairing the plaster wall in our home. While he was there we added a few other tasks to the estimate: hooking up an exterior faucet to our water, repairing some plaster ceiling on a staircase, and weatherstripping and insulating our front door. A few days after the initial estimate (and just before the work was to begin), we suffered roof damage, water leaks, and a partially collapsed ceiling on an addition to our home. We called a roofing company, and Handyman Guys to give us an estimate on this work as well. Handyman Guys matched the estimate of the roofers and we agreed to have them do this work as well so that we only had one crew here at a time. While the work took longer than we had expected, it was done well, and Brian truly worked until we were completely satisfied. The crew on our roof ended up causing a small crack in our ceiling -- Brian fixed the crack and repainted the entire ceiling in that room to make sure that no problems were visible, and he did this at no extra charge. We'll call Handyman Guys again -- the price was competitive, the work was good, and the team was professional. The only place I didn't give an "A" was for punctuality, and I almost gave an A there as well -- but there were a few times when the workers were late, and once when they didn't come when expected. Overall, though, I'm very pleased with the company.
Description of Work: Tuckpointing of brick front porch, and tuckpointing and capping three different three story chimneys. Connecting exterior faucet to water supply in house. Aluminum wrapping of three exterior windows. Plaster repair of wall and stairway ceiling. Roof replacement (flat rubber roof). Drywall ceiling repair. This gentlemen had a bathroom that was started by another contractor. The workmanship was extremely poor. In order for us to make the job right, we needed to demo out what had been done. The customer did not want to do this. I did not want to try and cover up a poor job from the start. I did not provide a quote because we don't skip steps and we do things the correct way.
Excellent work. Brian offered options and recommendations for each repair needed. He and his associates are very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Most impressed with their honesty and integrity. I highly recommend Brian and his company.

Overall Very nice job, would have given an "A" for quality but some of the details were not to my satisfaction and did not notice until after work complete. Tile slightly crooked on one area of backsplash, where drywall was repaired wall is a little irregular bumpy - may have needed to be sanded down more, Paint job is very nice, overall looks very good, very professional, would definitely use them again
