Very courteous and knowledgeble.

I live in a condo community in Westerville, OH, and recently had my attic inspected. I own a three-story condo and always found the top level to be much warmer in the summer. The inspector concluded that the reasons were due to inadequate insulation and the fact that the previous owner had installed a plywood board over the gable vent to keep animals out, thus creating a very hot attic/upstairs with very poor ventilation. The inspector recommended I hire a company to add more insulation and remove the plywood board. Being a 10-year member of Angie's list, I went directly to the Web site and found Greene Solutions. I called and had an appointment the following day. Thomas Greene, President of Greene Solutions, arrived on time and did his own inspection of the attic. He was very thorough and explained, in detail, his recommendations as to what should be done. I was very impressed by his knowledge and his enthusiasm. He was a pleasure to work with. We set up an appointment to have the work done on Friday, 6/27/2014. On Friday, June 27th, the crew arrived. Eric and Owen, two very pleasant young men, performed all the work in the attic: prying off the plywood board on the gable vent, which had been nailed down and foamed in and then replacing it with a heavy mesh screen to keep all critters out; installing additional baffles; blowing in more insulation; applying foam to attic vents and bath exhausts; and weatherizing the attic hatch. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up after themselves. Another gentleman, Craig Tuthill, of Widows Helper, a contract worker, installed a dimmer switch for one of the LED retrofit can lights and also all the outside soffit vents. He was a good worker and very conscientious, painting the outside vents to match the trim on the condo. Richard Greene, the fourth member of the crew, replaced four older canister lights with four new LED retrofit can lights and one "eyeball" directional light over the fireplace. After the "eyeball" light had been replaced, I did not like the way it looked, mostly because the circumference of the new light was smaller than the previous and there was a ring around the ceiling of the new light. I asked Richard if he would mind putting the original light back up. He was very gracious about it and quickly agreed to do so. The overall experience, from beginning to end, went extremely well. The office staff, as well as the work crew, were all top notch and very professional. I would highly recommend Greene Solutions for all your energy needs!

FANTASTIC !!!!! Thomas was prompt to respond to my initial request. He was very thorough in his evaluation.. He is very knowledgeable about the work needed, materials used and choices available. He studied my Energy Audidt report and was familiar with the person/company who had performed it and noted the credit due me because of said audit. The day of the work Thomas" team was right on time, went right to work, took all precautions for keeping my home clean and were vigilent in not allowing "the cats" outside. Thomas was back to the house before the work was completed and studied the results, ran a "blower door test' and compared the results with the first such test which was done at the time of the Energy Audit. He also had his team add some extra basement insulation as needed. Thomas completed and explained all the paper work at this time. He was cordial, polite and most helpful throughout the whole procedure as was his team. I have already given a verbal recommendation to an interested party. A great job by a great family business !!!!!

They are wonderful and will be coming back tomorrow for doing some attic insulation. They are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing. They were very detail oriented and helped do the paperwork for home energy audit with AEP.

I had a small water leak in my roof which was repaired by another Angie's List provider (Tim Newman Roofing) and they pointed out a problem with the insulation near the chimney chase. I contacted another insulation contractor and did not receive a call-back or any communication from them. When an Angie's List employee followed up on my report on this contractor, she recommended three other possible contractors. I reviewed all three and chose Greene Solutions as a small, family-owned company with excellent reviews. I was also pleased to find that this company does work in energy conservation. Thomas Greene, president of the company, came to my home to address my initial need for insulation near the chimney chase in the attic. After checking out the situation, he used his infrared camera to point out places where insulation was inadequate and where heat was escaping. I had previously considered an energy audit for my home so this was a welcome assessment. I learned a lot about work that could be done to reduce energy loss and decided to proceed with this company. After reading about some side effects of foamed insulation, I called the company to get more information about off-gassing reported by the EPA and was given information that quelled my personal concerns about this substance. The day before the service was scheduled, I received a call from Lisa of Greene Solutions to inform me that the crew would be here at 9:00 a.m. the following day. Thomas Greene arrived with three assistants, all of whom were polite and a pleasure to work with. A little later, Thomas' father arrived with a humongous ladder that was needed to access the light fixtures in the vaulted ceiling. Four people worked to get the ladder into the house and place it, without damaging the walls or the furniture - quite an accomplishment! The job took the entire day and I was advised to stay clear of the area where the foam was being sprayed so that I would not be bothered by the off-gassing. The crew discovered that an area of the rim joist was wet in one place and I was told that they would return when the problem was located, repaired, and the wood was dried out. I thanked them for the advice on how to approach the problem and will be contacting another contactor for a possible solution. Throughout the entire process, I was impressed by the professional approach to the work and Mr. Greene's consideration for making sure I was able to see and review the work at each step of process. He presented two different fixtures for replacing one of the bathroom lights, making sure I was satisfied with the selection. I was pleased with the entire process and have already recommended this company to a neighbor. While the cost was substantial, I am hoping that the return on my investment will result in lower utility bills in the coming years.

The work went very well - the team (Thomas Greene and 4 of his crew) arrived on time and we did a walk-through of the house to review what was planned. The team worked very hard in difficult conditions. Sealing the attic involved some pretty strenuous work getting to the edges of the down-sloping attic roof. Everyone was good natured and respectful, and always came to us when there were clarifications needed. Thomas asked us to inspect what was completed at various stages to ensure we were happy with the work. While the main crew worked on the insulation, a subcontractor worked on getting doors tightened up to reduce air leaks. Craig did nice work on the doors and we may hire him to replace 2 interior doors in the basement. The crew cleaned up after themselves and left us with a tighter, more comfortable house.

Pointed out a number of helpful ways to improved energy efficiency. I arranged for a subsequent call to have spray foam insulation put into the basement (i apparently had no rim joist insulation), and also had additional traditional insulation put into the attic. Team was very professional, cleaned up everything very well. Tom also helped me put together an energy rebate form for AEP, based on the improvements in the insulation and efficiency of my home.

I contacted Greene Solutions by e-mail through Angie's List on February 21 and they responded the next day. They came and did an inspection of the house as well as a free energy audit in conjunction with AEP. I was shown where problems were and advised that while the amount of insulation we had was above code when we built, it wasn't any longer. They called the week of March 28th to reconfirm and the that morning to let me know they were on the way. The crew was very respectful of my home. They put tarps down on all the floors. They explained the process and showed me the baffles they installed and when they were done I was asked to look in the attic to approve the work. Afterwards they vacuumed up stray pieces of insulation and then again asked me to inspect the work to make sure they got everything.

The work was done today. They were all very professional and left the place probably cleaner than they found it. They also finished in less than 6 hours which I felt was very good given the amount of work they accomplished. I would definitely recommend Greene Solutions.

Thomas Greene performed an Energy Audit for our all electric home. He identified several areas that could use improvement and reduce our energy consumption. He submitted a proposal and we decided to go with all his suggestions which were add 10" insulation to achieve R60, spray cell foam to block walls in crawl space, install 12 mml anti-mold/bacterial vapor barrier in crawl space, spray cell foam to all rib joists, install Aeroseal Supply vents which also included cleaning all ducts supply and return, install 2 LEC retrofit can lights over fireplace. He also suggest that all the cold air return fittings should be sealed which I did myself. I also ordered and installed a Battic Door whole house attic fan insulation shutter and seals cover per his suggestion. In preparation of his work I sealed any gaps in the supply registers where I notice rut in one of them. Upon further inspection I noticed a large hole in in the duct work., I made an appointment with Columbus Worthing Air to replace the duct and move another duct in the crawl space. 2 days were scheduled to complete all the work. Thomas and his team of 3 other guys were here the first day. They lid down tarps and removed their shoes when inside the house. On the second day Thomas's dad Rick and 2 of his guys performed the Aeroseal duct sealing. Rick gets you involved in the sealing process explaining each step along the way. Results were reducing leakage from the equivalent of a 42 square in. hole to a 1 sq in hole. Thomas reviewed the work they did by having me inspect the work. At completion he performed and leakage test again and showed that they reduce the leakage from 2,672 to 2264. Just a note that expect to have your house and activities disrupted for 2 days as they have a lot of equipment and they will need to be in every room of your house. I would highly recommend them.

I am so happy with them. First of all, the man came out and went through a lot of information with me that I wasn't aware of. He explained terminology and made everything very clear on what needed to be done. I wanted to get a couple estimates, but because the other companies didn't explain anything I didn't follow through with them. Going with Greene Solutions just seemed so much better. I even had one company I told I wanted fiberglass insulation but they emailed me an estimate for cellular. The whole process of telling, educating, explaining was just terrific by Greene. One of the owners was there the entire time watch the crew work, and they took pictures and showed me along the way every step they took because I couldn't go up there. They were polite, friendly, and professional. I'd highly recommend their services.

Thomas Greene was a pleasure to work with. He explained thoroughly all issues involved, took before and after pictures for me, did a wonderful job. His crew was friendly, took care with my home and cleaned up well afterward. I would highly recommend Greene Solutions . It was an excellent experience. He also went above and beyond with matching the vents to the house paint...taupe..

My electric bill is high and keeps climbing so I wanted a professional to help me determine where there were problems that I could fix. The whole process was very interesting and I learned a lot. Rick had me watch every step of his process so I could see first hand what he was finding and explained everything very well. He found multiple areas of my home where we can make improvements for better energy efficiency and hence a lower electric bill. We will be contacting him again soon to add additional insulation to our attic space. I highly recommend Rick and his company and will let you know how it goes after the next step as well.

My husband and I were both impressed by the thermal imaging. It really shows where there's any missing insulation. If you've lived in your home for awhile, the thermal imaging will probably reinforce what you already know. For us, we knew my husband's office is always cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Using the thermal camera, we could see this was largely due to our un-insulated attic hatch. I thought the spray foam in the basement would help because we had gaps all the way through the wall in some spaces, but at first I was skeptical about the attic insulation. I thought it looked like we had plenty of insulation up there. On the day of the install, the crew was very thorough about removing the old insulation from the rim joists and vacuuming the area. They showed us what they were doing throughout the work which I appreciated. The thing that amazed me was how fast I could feel the difference inside the house! After they finished installing the baffles and blown insulation in the attic, there was still a lot of opening and closing of the doors as they continued their work, but our second floor was already noticeably warmer. Thomas was definitely right that we needed more insulation in the attic. Once all the work was complete, Thomas performed a second blower test to show us the reduction in leaks. I can?t tell yet how much I will save in electricity, but my floors aren't cold anymore, my basement is comfortably warm, all the bedrooms are the same temperature, and my furnace kicks on less frequently. All around, a big improvement!

The actual owners came out and explained the whole process to me. Moving forward with the process, one of the actual owners "Mr. Thomas Greene" came out and supervised the whole entire job. The biggest thing that impressed me most about Greene Solution is that one of the owners Thomas Greene actually got down in dirt with his employees and got the job done! They did a very professional energy audit. I was concerned mainly about my office which gets extremely cold in the winter. So many other issues were found in the house. They put Extra insulation in the crawl space and weatherstripping on some outside doors.

Green Solutions is a great local family owned business. They know their stuff and take pride in their work. While they are working and completing tasks they want you to check their work to make sure you are 100% satisfied. When they were blowing foam and found a few additional trouble spots, they proactively took care of them. Our bedroom is right below the attic, and night one when it was -10 outside we had to turn down our heat because our room was so warm. I highly recommend this company!

After having another company come out for an estimate that did not go well, I called Greene Solutions. They were very polite and professional on the phone, listened to what I wanted done and quickly scheduled an estimate appointment. Thomas came out, listened to my concerns about the cold areas in my house and offered solutions. He did a thorough inspections of the attic insulation. We crawled through the attic together so I could show him my concerns. We also went in the crawl space to see what could be done. (The only access is a little window on the outside of the house.) The attic is about 2,000 sq. ft., the garage area is about 750 sq. ft. and the crawl is about 240 sq. ft. The job was scheduled about 10 days later. Thomas came along with three other crew members. I really liked the fact that Thomas would be here to help with the job. All the guys were great! They were very friendly as well as professional. They worked hard the entire time. Many rulers were placed around the attic to mark the R-60 level. At good stopping points Thomas would ask me to come up in the attic to see what they had done so far and ask if everything looked the way I wanted it. Same for the foaming of the crawl space. He showed me everything he had foamed. Greene Solutions is a family owned business. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They carefully cleaned up any insulation. They did a great job at a fair price. I couldn't be happier with the results and would not hesitate to hire them for any energy saving needs. Terrific company to work with!

These guys are great! They are very thorough in the evaluation process, they take you along for the journey so you understand what the issues are, where they are, and what they can do. The team is professional and kind, they respect your home and clean up everywhere along the way. When the works is complete they retest and are able to demonstrate the results they achieve. Lastly there has been considerable improvements in comfort and balance of temperature in my home.

Thomas Greene arrived promptly and provided a thorough evaluation of our home. Although he recommended several products, we opted to address the major issues. His crew, Johnnie and Owen, performed the service (insulated attic, sealed air vents, and applied an insulating cover over our house fan's opening) professionally and were very pleasant to deal with. Subjectively speaking, the results of their efforts presented themselves immediately. Our 4700 square foot home felt cold and drafty prior to their work. As new home owner's, we cannot make a direct comparison to the previous energy bills. However, we feel toasty warm and see a significant difference in our home's thermometers. With our thermostat set at 70, several rooms had a temperature of 68 degrees during the night and early mornings. Those rooms now have a nearly uniform temperature of 70 degrees. Overall, we found no negatives with this provider. However, the house exhaust fan's insulation solution (cover) does not match our ceiling nor does it appear beautiful in any way. With a coat of paint and a nice trim package, it should blend in with our home's decor. Otherwise, it looks like a rectangular piece of insulation attached to the ceiling. I will try to resolve this concern with Greene Solutions. Thomas, Johnnie, and Owen all deserve an A rating for their professionalism and concerns about our satisfaction with their product.

.Growing up in the so-called "Energy Crisis" during the 1970s, I watched as my parents took many steps to make my childhood home more energy efficient and comfortable. They insulated the walls and attic. They installed storm windows. They purchased an energy efficient furnace. I was determined that when I owned my own home, it would be as efficient and comfortable as my parents'. Fifty years later I now own a home that is as old as I am. It already had storm windows and an energy efficient furnace. Two years ago, I had an initial energy audit performed and insulated as per its recommendations. Nevertheless, I was not confident that it was as tight or comfortable as it could be. I had two more energy audits done by two different companies (both on Angie's List). Both audits contained several good recommendations. But my hope turned to frustration as neither company followed through with promises to schedule the work. I waited months for responses. I did not give up on Angie's List. Instead, I turned to the top company in the category: Greene Solutions. Thomas Greene paid a visit and we discussed the aforementioned recommendations. He added a few of his own and scheduled the work. I was pleased already After 2.5 days of work, I had my rim joist insulated/sealed, two crawl spaces sealed, and my 50+ year old air duct system sealed. I also received new LED recessed lighting (you will definately want those, they are beautiful!), and a fireplace pillow (as a bonus). During the work, an important duct was detected as being disconnected (directing much of its air between floors rather than its intended target). Greene Solutions engaged Wolfe & Sons Heating & A/C Inc. (also on Angie's List) to solve the problem. John Wolfe fixed the ductwork in a timely and cost-effective fashion. To add credibility to this review, I would have preferred more consistent wearing of booties by the workers. But to be fair, with the large amount of work being done and the constant moving in and out of my home, I'm not certain how practical this preference is. Greene Solutions also has a strong preference to be paid by check (or cash). I would have preferred using a credit card. I was tempted to wait until my next gas bill before writing my first Angie's List review. But there is no need to wait. I can already feel the difference. I have a basement that is more comfortable and crawl spaces that are useable for storage. I also sense my home is holding the heat longer and that my furnace is kicking on less frequently. Thanks to Greene Solutions, I am finally comfortable in my own home.

The estimator arrived on time and did a through inspection of the attic. He recommended the low rating be increased to R-60. I agreed and ordered the insulation. The installers were very processional. The job took several hours. Afterwards they throughly cleaned the basement floor. They suggested I view the finished product which I did. They were friendly and responsive to my questions. The home energy audit was very professionally done. This includes putting an exhaust fan in the front door and measuring air flow throughout the house. There a few surprises including ceiling fans and furnace room. Wall electrical sockets and ceiling lights were unexpected open to the outside air. The home energy audit was paid for by AEP as part of their energy program. The fireplace was also very leaky despite the doors being taped shut. The fireplace heating events were leaky. The laundry room vent was open to the air. The problems could mostly be fixed by me. Incandentscent light bulbs were replaced by floursenct ones, about nine of them. Sink faucet screens were replaced to slower flowing ones. PS. too for me, I went back to the originals. He recommended vapor barriers for my crawl space. He also cautioned me about leaks in the duct work. I am concerned about the conditions in my crawl and will followup. He promised to email a report of his audit. Overall the service was excellent. I recommend them highly.

Luke and Owen did a great job! They were on time and got right to work. They covered the work area with drop clothes, installed the baffles, blew in the insulation, insulated the hatch and cleaned everything up. While this was going on, Tom did an energy audit and gave us 12 CFL light bulbs and an LED night light. Overall a very nice experience.

From start to finish the staff at Greene Solutions quickly responded and scheduled at my convenience within their schedule. Lisa called the next day after my initial email contact. She also called the day before each appointment to confirm. Thomas and Owen arrived on time on both occasions. They explained what they were checking for and the tests they were doing during the audit, and were also able to get all of the paperwork set up for rebates through AEP. Thomas also gave a few recommendations for increasing energy efficiency in addition to the things I already had in mind. Fortunately there weren't many! The day of the installation went well too. The work lasted about 2.5 hrs, a little less than their time estimate. They were courteous, professional, and cleaned up the little mess that was inevitable considering they were working with insulation.
