They called the day afer I signed up for the angie's list big deal for $75 dollar infrared inspecton and $500 off work. They are a small family owned/run business which I like. Thomas came out to do the infrared and give an estimate and was very personable. After I accepted the quote they were able to schedule me about one week later for the work. The owner, Thomas, was here and actually doing a lot of the work. He kept me informed on other things that came up, and sealed up a big hole in the attic at no additional cost. They sealed up all my duct work for what I felt was a very reasonable price (I don't think they realized how much of a pain in the rear it would be). About 2 weeks later and I can tell the upstairs now feels more uniform and comfortable. Our master bathroom that was always a few degrees colder (mostly because the duct work didn't put any heat in there) is now much better and seems to be the same temp as the rest of the upstairs. I can tell about a 25-50% increase in the amount of air put out of my ducts. LIke i said, the attic ductwork was a mess. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the results so far. I'll update the review after I get a few bills. I'm sure I'll see a difference. I plan to hire them for more work down the road when the budget allows for it and I would definitely recommend this company to any of my friends.

Rick was friendly and professional and he was able to determine several areas that we would be able to approve the energy efficiency in our house. His recommnendations included areas we could fix ourselves and areas that they would be able to help. He listened to our concerns about where we were having issues in the house and he did a through job of inspecting all areas and showing us where our problems were and how to fix them Rick came prepared with necessary tools and information for the job (latters, thermal gun, information about insulation, pictures of different insulation processes, etc). He was able to write us a detailed quote of areas in the house where Greene would be able to assist us.The whole process took about an hour. We were very pleased with the job that Greene Solutions did for us. We'll be making some improvements to our house ASAP. With time and money permitting, we'll also contact them again for the services they quoted us on.

I had an energy audit done through Columbus Gas 2 years ago but on the day the auditor arrived, it was 60+ degrees and the thermal scan could not be done. The rest of the audit was done and we had the insulation work that was needed. But this year, we had the largest ice dam across the front of our porch/garage roof and I wondered if we had overlooked something or tightening up the house had caused another problem. I found Greene Solutions on Angie's List and called to see what they thought and Thomas said he would come out and do another basic audit, including the scan. Thomas went over the original audit and began his inspection, leaving no stone unturned. Looked in the house attic and crawled around the garage attic as well. Checked every corner of the 1/2 crawl space. The good news was the walls did have adequate insulation. He found the previous insulation work was fairly well done except some insulation had not been blown into the far corners. Baffles had been installed over the soffits. He said there are improvements to the 1/2 crawl space and space above the garage that can be done and left a very detailed estimate with us that we are considering. He was very friendly, courteous, thorough and happy to explain what he was doing and why at every step. I highly recommend Greene Solutions.

Rick Greene came to my house and ran a fan in my front door to simulate a wind outside, so he could determine what areas needed to be sealed. He also used a camera that showed warm and cold areas, to check things like insulation in the walls, and he checked the insulation depth in the attic. I stayed with him, so I saw and felt the various drafts for myself, and saw the warm and cold on the camera. He wrote up a recommendation regarding things to do, and I hired him to do them: window caulking, foam inserts in switches, weatherstripping both front and back door, sealing and caulking other things, plus a whole house fan cover and a sealed LED kitchen light fixture. It took him two full afternoons to get all the work done. He was thorough and methodical, and he made sure I understood it all. I am very satisfied. I can feel the difference when I put my hand near the door frame and window frames. In the next few months I will hire him again to add insulation to the attic to the recommended depth.

Thomas came out and suggested the ways we could save energy after he completed his tests and then provided a detailed follow-up report with the same suggestions and findings. They were very hard-working, informative, neat, and conscientous. We had a lot of work done (see above) and while blowing in some insulating foam in the basement, they had some mechanical problems with one of the machines. They continued to work diligently until everything was completed and things were working smoothly again. Thomas gave us a box of new energy efficient light bulbs and made sure that he showed us all work that was done and that we were satisfied. We were very pleased and look forward to being able to use our crawl space again and seeing the energy savings in the coming year

From our first contact for an estimate, Green Solutions followed thru on all work with everything discussed. He was always on time as promised and with a warm and friendly presence, fine work!

They were on time and worked the whole day. The cleaning was good. I felt that I would trust the results that were shown after all the work were finished.

Thomas was professional, punctual, and efficient. We acted upon several of his suggestions and hope to see long-term results in our home's heating/cooling costs.

He arrived on time, discussed what I should expect during the audit and discussed each test in each area that he performed. As the audit proceeded he made recommendation for conserving energy. His work was thorough and at the conclusion he discussed his findings and told me what aep rebates were available to me. I am totally satisfied with thomas' work.

I highly recommend Thomas for all your energy needs. Thomas also helped us get all the energy rebates we were eligible for.

I got great ideas on how to reduce my electric bill

I am replacing my furnace and A/C and Columbia Gas and AEP both have rebate programs for energy efficient equipment that is installed. These companies require an energy audit to aquire the rebate. Thomas came out to do the audit for AEP. I thought he would just look at the HVAC equipment and be done, but that is not what happened. He spent 2 hours with me walking through my home pointing out all of the ways I could reduce my energy cosumption. He also gave me a dozen energy efficient light bulbs and a LED night light. I thought he would be 'hard core' and suggest ridiculus things to do for energy efficiency. He did exactly the opposite! He was down to earth, very practical and even counseled against things that would not be cost effective, like replacing my perfectly good and tight wood windows for new ones. He, instead, pointed out lots of other ways to reduce my energy consumption that were much easier and a great deal cheaper. I was very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and lack of hard selling. He was very personable and helpful and worth 2 hours of my time. I would highly recommend this process even for people like me who really don't buy into the whole energy conservation movement.

From start to finish it was a very positive experience for me, and it was a job well done!

He arrived on time, showed me all areas of my house that had cold air leaks and cold zones. Showed where more insulation was needed and where some air holes needed to be fixed. I learned more than I thought about how sealed up my house was or wasn't I recommend Greene Solutions to anyone who would like to save money on energy costs and have a better sealed home. After all services and rebates, this entire process cost me $100!!

I called Greene Solutions based on their reviews here and the excellent detail in other reports. They were very professional on the phone and took my information, and Thomas called me back later that day. We discussed the situation, and the pricing involved. I wanted a full audit of my home; something to give me a prioritized list of things I could do to make it more energy efficient, as well as a sense of how well insulated it was. After talking to Thomas I opted for the full treatment: audit of the heating and cooling system, the use of a blower door to determine energy efficiency, and also the use of infrared photography to show where perhaps some unseen problems could be hiding. We scheduled an audit for the end of that week.The day of the audit Thomas showed up promptly with all of his gadgets. Since it was morning and the temperature was cool at that point, Thomas opted to do the basic assessment work first and then get right to the infrared photography, which he explained worked best when the inside-to-outside temperature difference was the greatest. He asked me several questions about my heating system, cooling system, etc. We then went to work! We walked around the entire house using the infrared camera, and I thought it was well worth the additional expense. He let me follow along as he aimed the device across each exterior wall, around every window, door, outlet, and switch-plate. As we went around the house, it was very evident where any insulation was lacking and find potential trouble spots that, without the camera, we would never have known were there. He found a section in one closet that was devoid of insulation! (I always wondered why that closet was cold!) After the full infrared investigation, we had much more to do! He went to the basement and tested the heating and cooling system, making sure no leaks were present, and also checking for how efficiently my furnace was working, etc. During this testing he had me turn on bathroom fans and close doors to see how it would affect the venting and the furnace. All seemed to be very good there. The last thing to do was the blower door test. He installed the large fan on my front door and, after doing some calculations, he determined the volume of air in my home, and values that his meter would read if insulated well or not so well. The test showed my house was actually very well insulated, which was quite a relief. We went and examined the flow rate in various rooms, with all of them being exceptional except one: the bonus room over the 2-car garage. He went through that room thoroughly, giving suggestions on ways to improve the value. Between that discussion and the infrared photographs, I now have a plan to improve that room up to the level of the rest. I can't say enough about my experience. All in all an excellent experience. Thomas was considerate, knowledgeable, and didn't mind my continuous questions. He did what I believe was a very thorough job. His "checklist" of things to do to improve my energy efficiency was detailed and quite different than what I thought it would be without such an audit. I think this audit will save me money in the long run, now that I know where best to apply my money.

Went very well. He arrived on time, we then talked about what he would be looking for, and then went through the house looking for issues and areas of concern.

I scheduled the appointment by calling a phone number that I heard on an AEP radio ad. Thomas Greene arrived on-time, and spent about 1 hour and 20 minutes walking through every area of the home (from basement to attic) with my wife and me. He brought with him a box of 12 energy efficient light bulbs, and used them to replace incandescent bulbs which are much more expensive to burn (all at no charge). After the walk-through, Thomas took time to explain the findings from his assessment, and rebates available for items from replacing leaky windows to adding insulation in the attic. We were so intrigued from our assessment findings that we signed up for a full home energy audit from Greene Solutions. As part of the audit, they will measure exact power draws of our larger appliances, determine the efficiency of our furnace, how leaky our windows and fireplaces are, replace shower with low-flow alternatives, and add insulation around our hot water pipes. We will also receive a programable thermostat at no charge. The audit will result in a report listing the projects that we could undertake to increase our home's energy efficiency along with the relative payoff.

Greene Solutions arranged a suitable time with the tenant to perform the 3-plus hour audit. They then provided me with a written 18-page report of their findings. Thomas met with me and went over the report in total. The report contained many recommendations along with approximate costs of some of those recommendations. This allowed me to prioritize my plan of attack according to the seriousness of the problem as well as according to the cost. As it turned out, one of the least expensive recommendations solved the tenant's problem. I would have spent over $1,000 needlessly if I had not had Greene Solutions to perform this audit.

Thomas and Rick Greene appeared at the appointed time and spent approximately seven hours completing a detailed examination and audit of every nook and cranny of our home, from basement to attic. They conducted a door blower test and provided data on air leakage from every room in the living area of the house. They then provided, in a timely manner, a thorough written audit report with a prioritized list of recommended improvements to update the energy efficiency of our 33 year old house. i would recommend this father and son team to anyone interested in a thorough, professional job. This company was found through American Electric Power's list of recommended contractors.

They were very professional and thorough. I was impressed with their reports and it was easy to work with them. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

I contacted AEP for an energy assessment. This company was the one that came out to do the assessment. Thomas came out and a walk through. He went through the house and gave tips on things that I would be able to do to be more energy efficient and save money. He spent a lot of time and gave me lots of useful information. Gave me a written list of the priorities of things to fix/change. Will probably contact soon for a complete energy audit.
