Description of Work: Added insulation to the attic and sealed gaps in duct work in the basement. They completed work on time and didn't leave any mess behind. Very happy with the work they did.

Description of Work: Energy audit. Dwayne was prompt. He did a thorough audit and gave tips for conserving energy and reducing heat loss. I was concerned that the house was inadequately insulated. He assured me that was not the case.

Description of Work: We had them do an energy audit of our home. He showed us on his infrared instrument where insulation was weak and where we were losing energy. They were very booked up which is a good sign but worked our small job in sooner then expected. Crew was very professional, gladly answering any questions I had. We could notice the difference the following winter. I would not hesitate to recommend or use this company again.

Description of Work: Greene Solutions came out and walked me through all the places in my home I might effect energy savings, by insulating, caulking, modifying, upgrading, etc. The information they provided to me was thorough and clear, and will serve as a plan for me, going forward, to tighten up my home.

Description of Work: Came to our house for an insulation estimate for 2nd floor and crawlspace. Very thorough inspection completed by the owner Thomas. Explained everything well and went the extra mile digging into our tight crawlspace to see what was needed for this job. Job cost includes cleaning debris out and hauling it away which is a great bonus! Have not committed officially to this job yet, but we're hoping to do it in the next year and highly considering this company for the job.

Description of Work: Rick and his team are very courteous and professional. They added 2 inches of spray foam to the knee walls of a bedroom over the garage. Rick took the time to show me where I could be losing conditioned air in other parts of the house, and pointed out the unsealed basement HVAC lines that he said I could easily remedy on my own. I can handle that! He used a thermal scanner in and around the room over the garage to identify the problem areas. He did not try to upsell and he even provided an Angies List discount. It's too soon to tell the impact of the added insulation for that room since the weather is milder, but I consider this step 1 of a 2 step process. I believe I will get greatest benefit from removing inadaquate fiberglass insulation from the floor of the room, and replacing that with spray foam. I would have had that done as well, but I first need to remove the 5/8 drywall at the garage ceiling...my next project. Thank you Angie's List for recommending a top quality insulation installer!

Description of Work: They sealed all penetrations into & out of crawl space. They invited me to go below to check it out and I was impressed. The before and after blower door test indicated very positive results. |I do have one quibble. They hired a very competent person to weatherize the 2 doors. However, the standard charge was determined by Greene Solutions before the subcontractor examined the doors. Surely, not all doors are equal and thus some require less attention and less labor than others. That should determine the price. A friendly suggestion: Quote a price range between a minimum and maximum sum. The labor actually performed will determine the cost. | Despite the above quibble, I would engage Greene Solutions again. In fact, I will probably ask them to add insulation to our attic space.

Description of Work: Rick Greene did an amazing job with the infared camera which highlighted air leaks in our newly constructed home. He was able to show with pinpoint accuracy exactly where insulation needed to be beefed up and door seals addressed. He made suggestions as to simple fixes for some things (like adding a bead of caulk in areas) that a handyman could do. There was nothing pushy about this man. He put together a proposal outlining the scope of work his company could do for us to remedy our issues and emailed it to me. Included in his email were pictures taken with the infared camera. Overall we couldn't be happier with the service provided and the professionalism. We did arrange to have further work done with Greene Solutions.

Description of Work: Thomas arrived right on time and set about filling out some paperwork to ensure we would get our rebate from AEP. We decided to get the more expensive audit that included scanning the exterior walls with a thermal imaging camera. Be prepared, though, that this will take quite a bit of time. Thomas spent around 5.5 hours at our house. Granted, this is a 5 bedroom house and might take longer than some others. We were told to plan for 3-4 hours, so I reduced the punctuality rating. While the thermal camera gave us info about a couple of areas that might transmit heat, I was far more impressed with the blower test. For this, he put a frame in the doorway that housed a vinyl sheet with a large exhaust fan in the bottom. When he turned it on we went room to room and found the places where we have quite a bit of air infiltration. As a result of this tour, I have a list of places where I can caulk and/or insulate and/or use expanding foam to deal with some of the biggest problems. Note that Thomas warned us to NOT make the house too air-tight as houses need to breathe. Through the course of the audit it was clear that Thomas really is passionate about helping home owners reduce their energy costs. Finally, Greene Solutions is an auditing firm, not an HVAC firm doing energy audits as entree to selling the homeowner further services, so you can trust them to be objective and fair in their review.
