HE CAME WITHIN THE TIME FRAME HE SAID HE WOULD AND HE PUT ON BOOTIES TO PROTECT MY FLOOR AND CARPETING FROM ALL THE SNOW AND SLUSH ON HIS SHOES. HE HAD TO GO SOMEWHERE TO PICK UP THE PART BECAUSE IT WASN'T SOMETHING THEY KEEP ON THEIR TRUCKS. IT HAD BEEN A LONG DAY FOR HIM, BUT HE RETURNED WITH THE PART. IT WAS NEARLY 5 P.M. AND PROBABLY TIME FOR HIM TO CALL IT A DAY. HE WAS POLITE AND RESPECTFUL. ANOTHER THING I LIKE ABOUT FAVRET IS THEY CALL WHEN THE TECHNICIAN IS ENROUTE TO YOUR HOUSE.
Description of Work: IT WAS A FRIGID DAY, JANUARY 24. WE AWOKE EARLY IN THE MORNING WITH NO HEAT IN THE HOUSE. THE THERMOSTAT REGISTERED BELOW 60. WE CALLED FAVRET'S EMERGENCY NUMBER AT 6:30 A.M. THEY TOOK A MESSAGE AND CALLED US BACK AT 7:30. THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE A REPAIRMAN AT OUR HOUSE BETWEEN 10-2 THAT DAY. THEY DID. THE PROBLEM WAS A BLOWER MOTOR. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAD TO GO AND PICK UP THE PART THEN COME BACK. BY 5:30 THAT EVENING, OUR HEAT WAS WORKING AGAIN. THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THEM THE NEXT TIME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH EITHER HEATING OR COOLING.

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY AND HADN'T BEEN IN THE PAST. OUR FURNACE WENT OUT ON A SATURDAY AROUND 10PM AND CALLED THE COMPANY FOR SERVICE. 2 HOURS LATER A RETURN CALL WAS RECEIVED. THE ON CALL PERSON TOLD US THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WITH THIS LARGE OF A COMPANY THE PEOPLE ON CALL SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THE APPROPRIATE PARTS IF THEY DON'T HAVE THEM IN THEIR TRUCK.

THE TECH I TALKED TO ON THE PHONE WAS VERY HELPFUL. I LIKED THAT HE QUOTED THEIR RATES TO ME WITHOUT ME ASKING. IT'S NICE TO KNOW UPFRONT WHAT TO EXPECT. AND THEN WHEN THE TECH DID THE WORK, HE DIDN'T CHARGE ME AS MUCH AS HE COULD HAVE BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TOOK HIM TO COMPLETE THE WORK.
Description of Work: MY FURNACE WAS WORKING SPORADICALLY OVER THE WEEKEND. I CALLED FAVRET AND A TECH CALLED ME BACK WITHIN THE HOUR. AFTER TALKING WITH HIM, I WAS SATISFIED THAT IT COULD WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO HAVE SOMEONE COME OUT SO I SCHEDULED AN APPT. FOR 8-12AM MONDAY. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL SHORTLY BEFORE 8AM AND TECH ARRIVED WITHIN A HALF AN HOUR. MY FURNACE DESPERATELY NEEDED A CLEANING DUE TO MY OWN NEGLECT. TECH SPENT AN HOUR AND A HALF CLEANING AND CHECKING FOR ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. HE SUGGESTED REPLACING THE IGNITER AND NOT ONLY EXPLAINED WHY BUT SHOWED ME WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN THE IGNITER TRIED TO LIGHT. FURNACE WORKED GREAT AFTER HE WAS DONE. ALTHOUGH HE WAS HERE FOR OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF, HE ONLY CHARGED ME FOR A HALF HOUR LABOR. SO MY COST WAS ABOUT $150.00 CHEAPER THAN WHAT I EXPECTED. I PURCHASED A SERVICE CONTRACT FOR 2 CHECK UPS PER YEAR. THEY DEFINITELY MADE A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION SINCE I HAVE NEVER HIRED THIS COMPANY BEFORE. I AM VERY PLEASED!

TECHNICIAN, JEFF, WAS COURTEOUS AND RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER CONCERNSE. KUDO'S TO JEFF AND FAVRET. I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL FAVRET AGAIN.
Description of Work: INVESTIGATED UNUSUAL NOISE FROM HEAT PUMP. FOUND ICING ON FAN SHROUD (NOT COILS). ADJUSTED DEFROST TIMER TO MINIMUM INTERVALS INSTEAD OF CURRENT MAXIMUM. UPON REQUEST, CHECKED THE OPERATION OF ALL HEAT STRIPS IN THE AIR HANDLER AND FOUND ALL TO BE WORKING PROPERLY. FAVRET WAS RESPONSIVE (SAME DAY SERVICE) AND PROFESSIONAL. I WAS GIVEN A TIME RANGE WHEN TECHNICIAL WOULD ARRIVE AND A CALL WHEN HE WAS ON HIS WAY. TECHNICIAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND POLITE.

IN BOTH CASES THEY GOT SOMEONE TO THE HOUSE WITHIN 24 HOURS AND GOT THE SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING QUICKLY. OTHER COMPANIES WERE SAYING 2 TO 3 DAYS FOR A SERVICE CALL. IN ONE CASE THERE WAS A PROBLEM THAT SHOWED UP A FEW DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR, THEY PROMPTLY DISPATCHED A TECHNICIAN AND COVERED IT UNDER WARRANTY.
Description of Work: I HAVE RECENTLY USED FAVRET TO REPAIR NON-WORKING FURNACES AT TWO HOUSES ($700 TOTAL FOR BOTH HOUSES). THEY REPLACED THE INDUCTION FAN MOTOR AT ONE HOUSE AND THE BLOWER MOTOR AT THE OTHER HOUSE.

LYNN CHECKED THE FURNACE. CHECKED, REPAIRED AND ENSURED NO MORE PROBLEMS. TALKED TO INSURANCE FOR ME TO SEE IF INSURANCE WAS COVERED, OF COURSE IT WASN'T. IF THEY FIND ANY ISSUES, INFORM YOU AND GIVE YOU OPTIONS. I LOOK FORWARD IN USING THIS COMPANY AND THEIR TECHNICIANS FOR A LONG TIME.
Description of Work: CHECKED AND REPAIRED FURNACE. AIR FILTER BROKE AND WAS SUCKED INTO FURNACE. PILOT LIGHT STAYED ON, HOWEVER, BLOWER COULD NOT OPERATE. ($94). ON SECOND VISIT, WHILE CLEANING DUCTS, REALIZED FURNACE NEEDED A TUNE-UP. TALKED ABOUT THE ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR FURNACE AND A/C AVAILABLE, WHICH I DECIDED TO SIGN FOR. AS THE TUNE-UP WAS INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT, IT MADE MORE COST EFFECTIVE TO DO THE CONTRACT ($200).

THE SERVICE PERSON CAME OUT - AS PROMISED - THE MORNING OF A MAJOR SNOW AND ICE STORM. WE WERE SURPRISED THEY'D HONOR THEIR APPOINTMENT CONSIDERING THE WEATHER. THE SERVICE PERSON ACTED AS IF THIS WAS THE NORM FOR THEM. HE FOUND THE PUMP NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED AND WHILE HE WAS THERE, HE ALSO GOT OUR HUMIDIFIER WORKING AGAIN. OVERALL, A VERY PRODUCTIVE MORNING.

WITHIN SIX MONTHS THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE PUMP SYSTEM BECAUSE WATER LEAKED OUT AND CAUSED THE PUMPS TO BURN OUT. IN FEB 04 THE SYSTEM WENT DOWN AGAIN, THEY SENT TECH THAT ASKED ME TO WAIT UNTIL MARCH TO GET A MORE QUALIFIED TECH TO FIX THE LEAK. THE TECH CAME AND TIGHTEN THE BOLTS AROUND THE PIPES. IN JULY 04 THE SYSTEM WENT DOWN AGAIN AND THE PUMPS BURNED OUT ONCE AGAIN AND NO PRICING WAS EVER GIVEN TO ME AND I WAS ADAMANT THAT I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEM RECURRING. IN NOV I HAD A SERVICE TECH COME OUT WHEN A LINE TO THE WATER HEATER STARTED TO LEAK THEY INSTALLED IN MARCH. THE TECH TOLD ME HE HAD NO IDEA ON HOW TO FIX THE LEAK OR GET THE PARTS. I HAD TWO OTHER PROFESSIONALS COME OUT AT THAT POINT TO LOOK AT THE WORK AND I FOUND OUT THE PIPES WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY BY HAVING PVC PIPES FASTENED BY BRASS FITTINGS. I AM TOLD I NEED TO GET THE PIPES RE PLUMBED IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY MORE PROBLEMS. I DON'T WANT TO PAY THE $1800.

WE WERE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH A BEDROOM IN OUR HOME NOT HEATING PROPERLY. SCOTT REVIEWED THE PLACEMENT OF OUR HEATING VENTS AND RE-DIRECTED THE FLOW OF SOME OF THE VENTS. ALSO, HE FOUND THAT THE FURNACE PRESSURE (THE FORCE AT WHICH THE HEAT LEAVES THE FURNACE) WAS TOO LOW AND INCREASED THAT AS WELL. THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED! WE HAD A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH ANOTHER HEATING COMPANY AND THEY NEVER CHECKED OR TALKED TO US ABOUT FURNACE PRESSURE! I INQUIRED ABOUT CHANGING OUR MAINTENANCE CONTRACT TO BE WITH FAVRET AND SCOTT SAVED US THE COST OF THE SERVICE CALL SETTING UP A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT AND LETTING THAT BE OUR FIRST SERVICE CALL. WE ALSO HAD SCOTT REVIEW HEATING PROBLEMS WE HAD AT OUR NEW COMMERCIAL BLDG SINCE DEC. 2003. SCOTT MADE SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENTS, AND INSTALLED OUR NEW THERMOSTAT--THOSE THINGS MADE A MAJOR DIFFERENCE! LASTLY, WE HAD FAVRET COME OUT TO DO AN AIRDUCT CLEANING AND LEARNED WE DIDN'T NEED IT DONE AFTER ALL. AWESOME COMPANY! AWESOME EMPLOYEES!

THE FIRST THING THE TECHNICIAN TRIED TO DO WAS SELL ME A NEW AIR FILTRATION SYSTEM. I SAID I WOULD THINK ABOUT IT AND ASKED HIM TO LEAVE LITERATURE, BUT HE SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY. HE ALSO SEEMED TO TAKE A LONG TIME TO CLEAN THE BLOWER, WHICH CONCERNED ME BECAUSE FAVRET CHARGES BY THE MINUTE FOR SERVICE. HE THEN TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW CAPACITOR, BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE IN THE TRUCK, SO HE WOULD HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER VISIT TO REPLACE IT. I DECLINED, AND MY HUSBAND REPLACED THE CAPACITOR. AT THE END HE TRIED TO SELL ME A SERVICE AGREEMENT. THIS WAS ALL VERY FRUSTRATING FOR ME BECAUSE I DON'T APPRECIATE CONSTANT SALES PITCHES WHEN I HIRE COMPANIES TO DO A JOB. ON THE PLUS SIDE, THE TECHNICIAN DID SEEM TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND THE PRICE ENDED UP BEING EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED.

THE CONTRACTOR THAT INSTALLED THE HUMIDIFIER WAS EXPERIENCED AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN ABOUT 4 HOURS. HE ARRIVED ON TIME AND COMPLETED THE WORK ON TIME. THE NEW HUMIDIFIER WORKS WONDERFULLY. THE CONTRACTOR DID MAKE SOME MINOR SPILLS ON THE CARPET AND COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE THOROUGH WITH THE CLEAN UP.

EVEN THOUGH OUR PAYMENT AGREEMENT WAS SIX MONTHS SAME AS CASH (NOT DUE UNTIL APRIL 2005), THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO PUT A MECHANICS LIEN ON MY PROPERTY.
Description of Work: INSTALLED FURNACE. IT TOOK THEM 2 DAYS TO INSTALL THE UNIT. THEY FINISHED WORK ABOUT 4:PM ON THE 2ND DAY. BEFORE GOING TO BED THAT NITE, I DECIDED TO CHECK OUT THE FURNACE. UPON OPENING THE BASEMENT DOOR, I SMELLED GAS.

Thank you for allowing us to respond to this complaint and for acting as a mediator. We have tried to settle this in good faith. We have been very responsive and concerned from the very start. We agreed to settle with the member on his request of $450 for the distress over a small (not life-threatening) gas leak. This offer is still on the table in good faith. We filed a mechanics lien to protect ourselves for payment. There is a third party financing terms involved in which we get paid with the proper customer's paperwork. INSTALLATION WENT WELL AND TOOK 2 DAYS. UNFORTUNATELY, FURNACE STOPPED WORKING IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. TURNED OUT TO BE A FAULTY SAFETY SWITCH ON FURNACE, WHICH WAS REPLACED AND EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE WORKING FINE. THIS WAS A DIRECT VENT FURNACE WHICH REQUIRED PVC PIPE TO BE RUN THROUGH THE BASEMENT WALL. I DIDN'T LIKE HOW THE PIPE LOOKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE, SO I MODIFIED IT AND PAINTED IT. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A NICE TOUCH IF THEY HAD DONE THIS THEMSELVES, BUT IT IS A MINOR ISSUE.

AS IT ENDS UP HE DID NOT EVEN OPEN OUR OLD FURNACE TO SEE THE BTU'S WE CURRENTLY HAD. HE QUOTED A FURNACE OF 66,000 BTU'S AND WE HAD A 75,000 UNIT AND WERE UNHAPPY WITH IT'S ABILITY TO HEAT THE HOUSE. CAN'T IMAGING A 66,000 WOULD BE BETTER. HE ALSO DID NOT NOTICE THAT THE COLD AIR RETURN GOING INTO THE FURNACE WAS SMALLER THAN WHAT WAS NEEDED FOR THE SYSTEM.

AS INDICATED ABOVE, I CHOSE FAVRET BECAUSE OF THEIR SUPERIOR SERVICE RECORD, AND, NOW THAT MY BRAND-NEW FURNACE IS INSTALLED, I AM VERY PLEASED TO HAVE DONE SO. THE TWO TECHNICIANS, JOE FISHER AND CHRIS CUNNINGHAM, ARRIVED ON TIME (8:30 AM) AND PROMPTLY GOT TO WORK. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND SOLICITOUS AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY PERHAPS, EFFICIENT. THOUGH I HAD HEARD FROM OTHER COMPANIES THAT IT FREQUENTLY TAKES MORE THAN A WORKING DAY TO INSTALL A NEW FURNACE, JOE AND CHRIS COMPLETED THE JOB--INCLUDING, IN ADDITION TO THE FURNACE, NEW FILTER, DUCT WORK AND CHIMNEY LINER--IN ONE DAY (5:30 PM). NO DOUBT, THEY WERE AIDED BY THE NUMEROUS FAVRET PEOPLE WHO STOPPED BY DURING THE DAY TO DELIVER PARTS. SERIOUSLY, THIS JOB WAS WELL CHOREOGRAPHED! AFTER INTERVIEWING FIVE HIGHLY-RATED COMPANIES IN THE AREA--I RECEIVED ESTIMATES FROM ALL FIVE COMPANIES AS WELL AS ASKED ALL BUT ONE TO RETURN FOR A FOLLOW-UP SESSION TO ASK ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS--I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW FURNACE FROM FAVRET. THEIR SALESPERSON, PAUL WILLIAMS, DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF DISCUSSING WITH ME THE VARIOUS OPTIONS (I OPTED FOR A VARIABLE, TWO-STAGE TEMPSTAR [100,000 BTUS], AND HE ALSO GAVE ME A LOT OF PRINTED INFORMATION (INCLUDING ''FLYERS'' WITH DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE DIFFERENT KINDS AND MAKES OF FURNACE). BEST YET, PAUL ALSO GAVE ME--UNLIKE ALMOST ALL OF THE OTHER SALESPEOPLE--AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE. THEREFORE, I WAS ABLE TO COMPARE AND CONTRAST THE VARIOUS ESTIMATES I RECEIVED. ALTHOUGH ONE OF THE ESTIMATES WAS SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN FAVRET'S, I CHOSE THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR SERVICE RECORD [SEE BELOW] AND THE FIVE-YEAR WARRANTY ON PARTS AND LABOR
