Favret Heating & Cooling

Paul Williams, the company salesman gave me several estimates for different types of Carrier equipment. All seemed pretty expensive to me. He explained about the various coolants and how the law will change in the future re: The type of coolant that will be allowed by the gov't. He seemed to be pushing the newer coolant. Mr. Williams had already sold us a new heating system several years ago, so I thought I'd give Favret the chance to offer us an A/C system, too. They were the most expensive of the four companies that I contacted.

They gave me a good price. I am a long standing customer with them.

I thought they were great. Very honest. They told me I didn't need ducts cleaned yet and showed my why. I had them do the dryer vent anyway as that is a safety issue for me. I thought it needed it, though they said it would be OK to wait. They replaced 2 filters in my HVAC system that needed to be changed. They were very helpful and definitely looking for long term customers rather than just to make a quick buck. Very helpful.

First, I'm fairly happy with the new equipment -it heats and cools my house better than the old. Not seeing a great improvement in utility costs, but maybe it was a cold winter. It's not as quiet as they led me to believe. It's hard to do price comparison, because each company is not selling the exact same thing. One item they pitched was a $400 thermostat, which they ended up "throwing in" to make the sale. Considering the price of other electronics items, that was very high. My biggest complaint was they said I could finance for 6 months at no charge, and specifically said I could then pay with any credit card. The financing turned out to be a new credit card, which I did not want. I could not pay it off with my regular credit card, which gives me 1% cash back, so that cost me an extra $90. Although they called fairly aggressively before the sale, they never returned my call when I reported dissatisfaction with the misleading financing/new credit card.

We've used them before and they are good. They were prompt and professional and explained in detail, what was wrong.

AC needed servicing and had issue with unit not shutting off, when desired temp was reached. Appointment was made for next day after initial call, with a 4 hour window of 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This quick appointment, was at my request due to travel plans and was during the hottest stretch of weather, so far this year. Technician called approximately 7:00 PM and advised he would be there a little late, but would come that evening, if I wanted him to, which I did. He arrived shortly after 8 PM, was in Favret shirt, was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and quite patient considering the time of day. He serviced the unit and diagnosed my problem. Herb then provided options on repair, including informing me of preferred brands and installation guidelines. He was not put off, when I advised that I would install my own thermostat. I would recommend the company to friends & neighbors and will request Herb, when I need more service of this type.

Air conditioner stopped working 2 days before Memorial day weekend. Favret was only 1 of 10 companies called that was willing to squeeze me in before holiday weekend. The service person showed up within time window promised, found the problem, and corrected it within the 30 minute "service time" preventing additional cost. Tech was courteous & friendly.

Very quick service. The good thing about this company is that they have enough employees so they can offer prompt and efficient emergency service. Not all companies will do this. Favret has a very good response time. Called them on a Sunday, got a live body when I called who was very polite and personable. Service person called almost immediately and came out soon after that and fixed the unit. Great job...thanks!

I was not impressed by Favret. The salesman was 15 minutes late and had to leave early, and as a result could not make an estimate while he was at our home. (Pretty much a deal breaker). His quote was the highest of the quotes that I received. It was $2300 more than the company that I went with (or 33%). I do value quality of labor, but not at a 33% premium for a very simple project from an HVAC replacement perspective.

Was within 20 minutes of phone call announcing arrival. Was within the window promised. Angie's List coupon used for service call. Service call price was deducted from the cost of new furnace.

We have a contract with them so we pay buy the year. Reliable service.

I have always had excellent experience with them as far as the service men that come out. They are very pleasant, here on time and I can't say anything but good things about them. I have excellent service from Favret. They are very professional and knowledgeable.

They did a wonderful job and I got a great price. From start to finish everything was done right. They provided a 10 year parts and labor warranty. It was just a great experience.

The cost included a $100 off coupon. They were very thorough and there were no hidden cost.

Richard Sprowls met me at my house in the time frame promised. Of all the contractors I talked to, he was in and out the quickest. I think this is because he never asked for the square footage of the house, how much insulation was in the attic and didn't measure any windows. I knew thing weren't going well when we looked at the existing furnace. It was old an rattled a lot. Richard said that the bearing in the blower was going bad (implying that I needed a new furnace I suppose). I suggested to him that there was another reason for the noise. He assured me it was a bad bearing. What I never told him was that the blower had just been replaced the day before. While the price he quoted was competitive, we didn't choose Favret.

The tech was very prompt and very helpful we were very pleased.

Not only did he fix the problem but he was also able to provide the semi-annual service so I would not have to stay home for that appointment.

The technician was on time and very professional. It was too cold to get the AC to turn on. So he stayed until he got it to work so he could finish the job.

We called for an estimate and Jim was available to come right out. We were able to contact him later in the evening with additional questions. The installers were very prompt, respectful and efficient. Mike set everything up and answered questions, etc. All of the employees were professional and helpful. I used Favret based on a recommendation from a friend and Angie's List; I would also recommend them to others.

They told us that we did not need the work done. They said the air ducts were in very good condition. They said to get back to them in 5-7 years. That is pretty impressive to me. They were extremely polite and nice. And we will use them when we need them.

We were about to go into a cold snap. I called on Sunday and they called me back first thing on Monday. They came on early, they were very professional and courteous. They were careful to take care of my house and to keep things clean.

Things went terrible with this company. Their lack of professionalism as well as their slow response time was extremely disappointing.
