Favret Heating & Cooling

It went very well. It went so well we switched our maintenance contract so that they will do our inspections and repairs as needed. The representative was really knowledgeable and they were able to figure out what was wrong when nobody else was.

I live in an older home, and I had Favret out for a spring check. The technician was here early in the time window, performed the check, gave me several areas that needed resolution and how to prepare for that in the fall, including parts needed. He also showed me how we could use regular air filters rather than the fabric. When my system needed a full recharge, he recommended a new system. We talked about several systems and he gave me several different options, including if we stayed with this system a service plan. He also told me how the dampeners could make a difference in how air was circulating.

They're very professional. We have a service contract with them. They are just a good company.

They did excellent work. Anyone that came to our home was very helpful in answering all of our questions. They did a good job and we are very satisfied with the work that they did.

It was a difficult install and they were very good.

This company is FANTASTIC! They are professional, friendly, efficient, and respectful---Just cannot say enough good things about this company. I am SO GLAD we found them!

About 8:00 a.m., one of the two service men called to notify me that they would arrive within the hour. They arrived, introduced themselves, then went through the house counting all the heat vents and all the return air vents. They gave me the cost of the service as $475.00, and gave me a $50.00 discount when I gave them my Angie's List coupon. I agreed to the price, then they brought in a large machine and other items to be used. About a half hour was spent in warming up the machine. They explained that they needed to cut openings in my air ducts located in the basement, but would cover them when finished cleaning the ducts. They did this, then attached one end of a large tube to the hole, and attached the other end to the large machine. The machine caused a suction. After a short while, they removed each register cover. They brought in a very long hose that created very forceful air, then placed the hose down each register, blowing any debris toward the machine in the basement. After cleaning each register, they worked with the ducts in the basements. They replaced all register covers, then clean all the return air ductwork and grilles. I'm giving a general idea of what happened. I didn't follow them around during the complete process, but I asked a few questions and watched some of the process. They finished around 11:30 a.m. or noon. They were very polite and considerate. After they left, I went to the basement to see what all they did, and discovered that a few of the small holes in the ducts and pipes were not covered. I immediately called to tell them, and they came right back to place the plugs in the holes. They apologized for the inconvenience.

Great. Very easy to schedule and company called in advance to tell me that technician was on the way. Technician was courteous, friendly and seemed to know what he was doing.

We have a very good feeling about them and would recommend them to anyone. We signed up for an annual contract to have the unit serviced twice a year.

They've come anytime day or night when my equipment is not working. It doesn't matter what time it is, they will be here. They back up their product. The workers that come out are neat, clean, on time and professional. I will continue to use them and would also recommend them. The approximate cost that I pay is for the years contract.

I had a disappointing and inconsistent experience with Favret. My first meeting with the salesman, Paul Williams, was a bit bumpy--I felt he was very condescending but I was in a hurry, thought it was a minor job and was OK with the initial price I was given. We had to get the ductwork done to finish a bathroom renovation. Learned my lesson about rushing into things! The two men who came out to actually do the work were OK and they came out quickly after the estimate. Herb was very polite and helpful, the other made a joke to my carpenter that insinuated I was difficult to deal with, which I found to be totally inappropriate. I understand you'll have that attitude from time to time when you're a young female dealing with these issues--still, it was very unprofessional. They moved the first two ducts and forgot to fix the broken duct in the basement--I called Paul, they came back right away and fixed the piece they had missed. They were very responsive to remedying that situation and I was pleased with that response. The bigger issue came up when they returned to fix the duct and my carpenter told the Favret guys they had to clean out a couple ducts, without running it by me. They went ahead and did the work, without MY permission and then tacked $200 on to my initial MAXIMUM estimate for an hour of work. I felt that the workmen, the carpenter and Paul had totally circumvented me in the decision-making process. I was reachable by phone the entire time and should have been the one to approve any changes in price. I "fairly" agreed to pay for the extra work, which I regret now. I recognize they were not responsible for the carpenter's behavior, but I was the customer and they should have kept my interests in mind. This, on top of the initial condescension made me feel very undermined. We also almost failed our rough-in inspection because they did not vent the bathrooms to the roof. I did not know that this was a code requirement (I'm a nurse, not an HVAC expert), so I didn't mention it to them. I was disappointed they did not pick up on this--I heard several times from them how much experience they had in the industry and they were working in the bathrooms for several days, seems like it should have been obvious to them. By that point I was fed up and wanted someone else to do the work. They were fine with this, someone else ran the bathroom fans to the roof and I was supposed to hear from Favret that the work the other guy did was up to passing the final inspection (since Favret's name was on the permit). I called to follow up several times, and never heard back until I held my payment. I received a very prompt call back when I explained what had happened and why I hadn't sent the check. I chose Favret because there were so many good reports on Angie's list, I wish my experience had been better.

From call in morning with a cold home, scheduling for same day...even early in day to technician being patient with my questions everything was great.

The workers arrived on time and were careful to explain the process and the time they thought it would take to do the job. They were neat, careful with furniture, and respectful as they went about their task. Although our ducts were extremely dirty (never having been cleaned before), the workers got the job done in just about half the time they expected, and showed me the results of their labor: clear ductwork and an almost full pick-up chamber of their cleaning equipment. When they washed their hands before leaving, both guys cleaned up the area around the sink. I had almost no clean-up to do following their departure.

I called Favret around 8:00 am on a Monday morning and was given a 4 hour window. Jeff the technician was here around 9:30 am, was very polite & returned with the parts by 10:45 am and completed the job in less than 1/2 an hour.

Good in general, although I felt I had to ask the right question. For example I was interested in energy efficiency heat somehow along the line I realized that the furnace & A/C units were bigger then I should have for my size condo. When I questioned this, this salesman agreed and changed the order. The smaller unit did not meat requirements for tax incentive, but it's more efficient for my unit.

I called at 8:30 and they had a technician to our home in 1 & 1/2 hours, which is amazing. The technician had the problem repaired in less than 45 minutes. I could not have been happier with both the work and how professional the technician was.

I thought that their service was good however I did feel that their rates where high when I compared with other people who had the same sized unit had the same work done. I'm not sure we got the best price due to the fact that we had to get this work done in the middle of the summer and it made us wonder if we should have just done an air compressor swap instead of replace the whole unit. They were certainly professional. They wore their booties around. It did take them a couple of times for them to get the right unit which did add several hours to the job. We also had to call them back out another time because they failed to turn the gas back on. The price of our electricity bill did sky rocket even though we were informed that it would go down and we still haven't found out the cause. I think we'll look around for someone who's prices aren't so high but right now we do have a contract with them.

They had given me an estimate earlier in the year and honored the lower price instead of the current estimate price. Bill and James were polite and showed me what had collected in the ducts when they were done. They put the vent covers back on and were careful with the furniture. They were quite considerate and didn't move anything without asking first. They were here on time and were flexible in changing my appointment due to other projects that weren't finished. I thought they did a good job.

There is a room over the garage that was always colder or hotter than the rest of the house, so we decided that we wanted to make the room more comfortable. We are very pleased with the operation of the unit. It really does help augment the existing unit and the environment in the room.

Called Favret at 8:30 am on a Wednesday and was promptly answered by an operator. Was transferred to service department where a phone representative took the information about the problem and my contact information. Was given an estimated arrival time of between 10 am and 2 pm. However approximately 30 minutes later I received a call indicating a technician was on the way ahead of schedule. Mike (technician) was professional and very friendly despite needing to work in a VERY cold attic where furnace is difficult to access. Troubleshooting was quick and a replacement part was available on the truck. Only delay in fixing the problem was the wait for the thermostat to reset on its own! Rate was $105 for first 30 minutes, $30 for each 15 minutes afterward (my server was below 30 minutes) and igniter was $80. Little disappointed in price...Understand initial service rate of $105 but the igniter can be purchased for $26 so 3x markup is a bit harsh.

The technician seemed very knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. The furnace has worked fine since.

Very good experience. Propane was supposed to be here before Favret arrived, but they were late. Favret did was they could and even offered to "continue" the service call next week when the propane folks arrived. But as it turned out, the propane folks arrived while Favret was here and they waited for Amerigas to finish with the propane.

The guys who came were courteous and polite, and didn't dilly-dally around. They wore booties over their shoes to protect the floors the first time they came in (not the second time). They were good about answering questions and telling me when I should come and look at the results. They told me when they were leaving and when they were coming back. They were respectful to me. I did have to vacuum up dust bunnies around every register when they were gone. I didn't expect that. The only thing that bothered me was that while they were upstairs, they apparently took an interest in the fluffed-up feather beds since I found not one but both smashed. Apparently one wasn't enough to satisfy their curiosity. I have had this problem with people looking at the house when selling it but workmen should leave personal stuff alone.

They are prompt in remembering the service checks. Their service people are very prompt, thorough and courteous. We have used them for a number of years.
