Favret Heating & Cooling

They came out on the coldest, rainiest day! They did a fabulous job! They were neat and came in with booties over their shoes. They also brought disposable paper drop clothes to cover the area in the house. They had to bring the equipment in through the back of our neighbors yard. They were quick about this. They also looked at a dryer issue we were having. They are a great outfit! I would hire them again and we'd hired them before to install a furnace.

Patrick from sales came to our home to give us an estimate. Their pricing was confusing. It is by the job - not by hours or materials. I felt like they were just picking a number out of the sky. To move the cold air return only it would be 450, but then only an additional $45 to move the heating duct (which was a lot more work). It just did not make sense. I was told it would take a full 8 hour day and it only took about 5-6 hours. The day before they called and said they wouldn't be able to do it unless the contract was signed by the homeowner according to the Franklin County Auditor - they did a search on the property. It was all very strange. In the end they did a decent job. Originally the hole was not cut properly for the cold air return but when I pointed it out the technician did correct the problem after a comment "you can really see that????". They did not completely remove the old duct work from the old heating vent because "it doesn't really matter". I asked them to cap the old cold air return (just put a piece of sheet metal over the hole in the floor) in the basement and they said it was not needed but did so reluctantly.

Purchased annual service agreement. Tech was friendly and did a good job. There are some nice add-ons/price protection with service agreement that would be worth looking into.

They are prompt, do good work and back up everything they do. We choose them because we know we can count on them.

They installed everything I have, the furnace, air, humidifier, everything. They come regularly and if I didn't like them I wouldn't have kept their services for over 20 years. They're good.

Our furnace was not kicking on heat. I called Favret at 8am in the morning and a serviceman was at my house within an hour. He was very knowledgeable of our "no-name" furnace and fixed it within an hour.

He knew what he was doing and fixed the problem just fine. We knew what the charge was going to be and we were happy with them.

The technician was friendly and professional. He told me that my filter was still good for several months and didn't see any reason to buy a new one at this time. He also checked the heater itself for gas pressure.

No problems, very friendly and explained what he was doing and preventive measures.

My furnace stopped working in 0 degree weather. I called Favret for emergency service. This is the first time I have used their company. I called at 730a on a Saturday and the technician arrived about 1 1/2 hours later, replaced the broken part and was finished by 930a. Everyone I talked to was very nice and efficient. They charged me $80 for the part and $109 for the service call. The cost seemed quite reasonable for emergancy service.

It went very well. They finished the work within a day. We called on Thursday and they were out on Friday. We had a problem with city regarding the permit and they took care it with no problems.

They are a good company. They consistently get A's. They deserve the praise.

I'd rate this company a 10 out of 10. They are reliable and honest, from the salesperson to the installer. They did some touch up things and the estimate stayed the same. They arrived on the date and time we were scheduled.

We recently moved into our home and have had several furnace failures. Another technician determined that the furnace had not been installed according to manufacturer's specification. The installation was not done by Favret. It was necessary to run larger piping and install additional sheet metal in the cold air return. Two technicians did the work and did an excellent job. New sheet metal had to be fabricated and it was done off site and delivered approximately 3 hours after it was ordered. The furnace now runs properly and we are very pleased with the service we received.

We weren't happy with them. They basically just told us to replace our whole furnace. We ended up calling an independent contractor and they were able to resolve the issue for about $350. I would not use them again.

They are very good. I would highly recommend them. They are fair and responsible. They are there to help you out. I feel like they are very consumer friendly and they are in business to serve the consumer.

Called Favaret because heat pump was broken last year and another company suggested I replace the unit. Explained to the tech that the defrost was broken and the other company suggested replacement. Asked if it could be repaired. Tech told me that he needed to check to see if he could repair it because they no longer made the unit, but I was low a few pounds, and asked if I wanted to charge it. I said, "sure", thinking perhaps my unit might be repairable. Tech finished and left, saying he would have to check to see if the unit was repairable. Then called me only 15 minutes later to say the unit was not repairable. Um, perhaps he may have suggested I wait on a charge up until he found out if they could fix the unit. Why pay for the charge up if I need to replace it? No big deal, but no much of a suggestive communicator, knowing that I was looking for a suggestion on repair or replace. Or perhaps he could have said, "I know you might replace this, but you still need to charge it". Or he may have said, "lets wait to see if I can repair before I charge it". Very very vague indeed. I knew I would be out a $100 service call, but now that I am replacing it, I could have saved a dollar or two rather than fill something up that I now will be replacing. I would still suggest them, I put this stupidity on me for not asking more questions. Also the tech kept asking me if it was freezing up. I ex pained that I knew the defrost unit was broken and needed to be repaired, that I wanted to make sure when we had an ice storm, the heat pump would be able to defrost itself. I was worried.

I am very satisfied with their service. I have been with them since 1994.

They haven't had to come out for a while, but they're very good. They've completed all the work we've needed. The employees are good and competent. I would recommend them to others. Most recently I did to my mother.

They did a very careful job by putting little boots over their shoes when they came back in the house from emptying the machine. They cleaned up after themselves around all the vents.

They were excellent. They were prompt, courteous and they did great work. Their pricing was reasonable and I would highly recommend them.

The problem was my chimney. There was a big storm that leaked trough my chimney considerably and ruined my furnace. They were able to install a new furnace and vent it so it wouldn't go up the chimney. They were able to explain to my insurance that the weather had ruined the furnace it hadn't just quit. My insurance covered it.

The experience was great because I didn't have to spend $600! They were honest, knowledgeable and had good business morals. They didn't take advantage of me and I have recommended them to others.

Our dryer had basically stopped functioning. Considering the troubles we've had with it over time, we thought for sure we were going to have to buck up and buy a new dryer, but I knew we needed to clean out the vent more thoroughly than I was able to and thought we'd start there. From what I'd read, a dirty vent sounded like it "could be" the problem here and one way or another it really needed to be cleaned so... The Favret staffer was right on time, surveyed the situation and listened to our story and went right to work. 30 minutes later he cleaned up his work area (though a little dryer fuzz did get blown around in our laundry room), he put the dryer and vent set up back in place and a few minutes later everything was working like it should! 1 dryer cycle to 1 load of clothes and a short while later our clothes were actually dry again; hooray! We've since done 10+ loads and we're still at it and everything is working fine. It was taking us an entire day to get a single load dry; it's now back to taking 50-80 minutes (depending).
