Favret Heating & Cooling

I had to call them on Saturday & Sunday (10/17 & 10/18) because the furnace wouldn't kick on. On Saturday it didn't act up for the technician (of course) but he did give me good information. On Sunday it wasn't working again and this time wouldn't work for the technician either. He was able to adjust some things instead of putting an expensive part on and it's been working great since then. Both times they were at my house within 30 minutes of my call. I appreciated the repair of the part instead of automatically replacing, he knew I'm planning on a new furnace when there's a sale so was trying to save me money.

They came out 27 different times to try to fix the equipment, but they never got it fixed correctly. At one point it blew up, and they had to replace the outdoor unit. They replaced it with another unit that still did not work correctly, and as a result I had several $500 electric bills because of the furnace. I asked them to help me with the enormous electrical bill, but they refused. I finally had to contact the Attorney General?s office for assistance. I asked for them to simply remove the furnace and return my money. Their slogan indicates that they are not happy until their customers are happy, but their only effort to resolve the situation was to send out more technicians. They were always responsive with the service calls, but their commitment to take care of the furnace was disappointing. I would absolutely not use them again, nor would I use the product again.

They were friendly and seemed to know exactly what they were doing and did not waste any time. They completed the job and were very effective. They were polite when I talked to them and were friendly to talk to. I would recommend them.

They were right on time. I felt that they were competent. I was pleased with their servicing. I would consider using them again in the future.

The experience went very well. They are always very professional and don't try to sell you things that you don't need.

I really like them. They clean up after themselves. They are very polite. He did what he thought the cheapest route was to fix the system. There were some problems along the way, but they did what needed to be done. At this point, it could take thousands of dollars to fix it, but that's not necessarily their fault.

When they came out to look at my air vents they said that I did not need them to be cleaned and they did not charge me for the service fee. I was pleased, because they easily could have charged me eight hundred dollars for a cleaning that I did not need. They did an excellent job with the calibrations. They were very prompt and they showed up when they said that they would. They have been very honest. I have a service contract with Favret Heating & Cooling. I have been very pleased with the service that I have received from them.

They were professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work was good and I was satisfied with their service.

They are very good at their jobs and responsive to our needs. We call them to schedule our appointments. I would presume they are right in the ball park of everyone else as far as prices. They are very professional and we do plan to continue using them.

I have been using their services for twenty years. They are flexible, provide excellent service and I am very happy with them.

I have to get a heat exchanger replaced which would cost me around 1000 $. There was another company who came and suggested me to purchase a whole new furnace which could have cost me 4000 $. So, it saved me a lot of money when Favret Heating & Cooling fixed the furnace for me. They explained to me as to how the furnace works, instead of just telling me that the furnace is rusty and needs to be changed. I have a 10 year old furnace. I have had Favret Heating & Cooling come to my house before. I trusted that they would do a good job. They always come on time and they are responsive. I will use their services in the future as well.

They finished the job within the time they said they would. They did the job for the price they promised. Their price was less than that of their competitor. I was happy with their product. They got rid of my old unit. I have had no problems with the unit. The unit is as they described. I am completely satisfied. The price was fair; the market price.

They really know my furnace and air conditioner which is nice. They have been able to take care of any problems right away. I have not used any other companies in about ten years.

We have a contract with Favret Heating & Cooling where they would check our furnace. It?s a sort of service that includes an inspection of the air conditioner too. Their technicians are knowledgeable and know what needs to be done. I would say nine times out of ten they would get things right the first time.

I've had a service contract with Favret for about 10 years, in which a technician comes to my home twice a year to inspect my furnace and air conditioner. A few years ago, they replaced my air conditioner. Their service has been uniformly excellent over the years. This year, for my autumn service check, a technician came out who was unfriendly, unresponsive. Although he inspected my furnace, he mumbled something about it "possibly" needing some work, but he didn't explain. I felt as if he didn't want to be there, and I was glad when he left. He left on all the lights, as well as the thermostat. I immediately called the service manager to express my concern, wondering if I needed my furnace inspected again, and not only did he talk to me personally on the phone, but he sent out another technician immediately to re-examine my furnace. The 2nd technician was extremely helpful, congenial, and thorough. He answered all my questions, and I felt everything had been taken care of. I"m sure the 1st technician will be informed about this problem. I know there always may be a "bad apple" or two in any organization, but I was impressed with how quickly Favret responded and resolved the situation. I will continue to use and recommend them.

They were excellent. My husband also worked with them while they installed the air conditioner. They were efficient and professional. They gave us what we wanted and the price charged by them was right. Moreover we got a quality product for what we paid.

The sales rep was friendly, professional, and thorough in his knowledge of the equipment. (No high pressure sales.) The gentlemen who installed the equipment were just as friendly, knowledgable, prompt, hardworking and obviously knew exactly what they were doing. I feel that I may have paid a bit more than others but it was well worth it. I decided to purchase the equipment and they were able to get most installed the very next day.

I used them because they had a good report on Angieslist. I was satisfied with their service. I was not impressed with the representative himself. I got the same day appointment. I might probably hire them in future.

They were very punctual and their follow through was good. The technicians they sent out seemed very knowledgeable and they knew what they were doing.

I called this company to set up a servicing of my furnace and air conditioner and to have the air ducts cleaned in a new home I was purchasing. I set up the appointment almost 2 weeks in advance so that the company could come out in the morning on September 11, 2009. Two or three days after I called to make this appointment (1 1/2 weeks before the scheduled appointment), a salesman with the company called me, asking for information on my previous address, saying that they needed to do a credit check on me. I told him that I had not authroized a credit check and he had no right to this information. I was not asking for credit from this company. Concerned that there may be an issue with this "credit check", I called the company and asked to speak to the owner. He told me that any service they do over $500 requires a credit check, even if you are not asking for credit. He told me that it was on the contract, but I did not receive a contract. We also agreed that my service request was not over $500. I gave him my previous address info, but still did not authorize a credit check. On September 11, between 8:00 and 9:00 am, I receive a call from a Favret service person stating that they had overbooked their work for that morning and would not be able to come until the afternoon to clean the ducts. I asked him when the person would be coming to service the furnace and air conditioner, and he told me that he did not know anything about that. He only does the ducts. He offered to have the office call me to discuss that. I told him it wasn't necessary, and that I was starting to question Favret as a company. Very soon after speaking to the service person on the phone, an office person called me. I asked her when the person was coming to service the furnace and air conditioner, and she said that it had not been scheduled. She stated that she just then got the request on her desk and she would be happy to schedule it at that point. Due to the poor communication within their company, lack of proper scheduling and what I consider to be questionable "credit check" policies, I cancelled the appointment and have decided that I would never use this company.

I have had good luck with them. They come quickly, finish their work and leave. They come during spring and fall.

Told they would start at 8am. They arrived at 9:30. I think they did the job. Tried to answer our questions (we were concerned one of our ducts was blocked because the room wasn't heating right). Really left a mess in the basement and I was unhappy with how they cut into our warm and cold vents. I knew they were going to cut into the vents, but I didn't feel the quality of the patches were very good. Some of our cold air vents were bent. Finally, they showed us how much dirt they pulled from the vents. We weren't really impressed...after 10 years and 4 cats and a dog plus hardwood floors, we expected them to be dirtier.

Very knowledgable technician with customer service philosophy. I would continue to use Favret again and again.

It was a good experience. Their sales person explained the different systems to us and gave me straight forward information. The installers did a find job and completed the job in a timely manner. The only issue was the way they drained the furnace wasn't the best. They did re-try to do it once, but it still wasn't draining the way it should have. Their prices were pretty much in line with everyone else.

Our air conditioner was broke at the time of this meeting with Favret. The service, information and professionalism from the sales representative was excellent. The product line he quoted me was Carrier. This product line is good quality per Consumer Reports. Paul spent a lot of time discussing different options, explained everything thoroughly, left literature about the product and his business card, I was very pleased with the service. This quote is being considered as a purchase ONLY due to the sales experience I've encountered and the history of the company. Although the current air is fixed for now, we will purchase new as we pursue with our remodeling schedule.
