They were polite, professional, and excellent installers. They came on time and finished on time. I'm very pleased with the Carrier heating and cooling units.

They came out with all of the information. I just love the company. We ended up choosing a smaller operation, which turned out to be a mistake. Their prices were competitive and they even followed up with a call. The customer service was great!

After a Favret technician performed an annual inspection of the A/C and checked some things on the furnace, he claimed both needed replaced (see other report on that experience) and set up a meeting with a sales representative. The salesman did not spend any time calculating the proper size of furnace for the house and seemed to just assume that it should be the same size as the current one. He did not count the number of windows or ask about the square footage. The size of furnace he suggested seemed too big based on the research I'd done online. He said that he would drop off more information about the furnace and A/C units that he was recommending but never delivered that material. He didn't seem to have many options to offer anyway.

In January, the technician who inspected the furnace was very thorough and said that the furnace was in great shape despite its age and that the particular model of Lennox furnace should last for many more years. He cited a recent case where he had serviced a similar model that was going strong after 45 years (over twice the age of mine). At the end of April, a different technician came to check the A/C and I asked him to check the furnace too because it was cycling on and off frequently. This technician claimed the furnace was on its last legs and should be replaced as soon as possible - completely the opposite story from what I'd been told in January. It seems unlikely that the furnace deteriorated drastically in four months. The furnace has had trouble with frequent cycling in past years and the problem had previously been solved by cleaning some part but he claimed the furnace was just going bad and couldn't be fixed. I asked if he could do something to lessen the rattling noise that the duct work makes every time the furnace started up. Whatever he tried actually made it worse, and he claimed that it just wasn't possible to make it quieter, even thought it is so loud it often wakes me when it starts up in the middle of the night and the noise just can't be normal. He also had a lot of trouble replacing the filter - it took him over 5 minutes to get it in - and he completely ignored the tip I tried to give him that allows me to replace it in 15 seconds. When he left, I discovered that he had actually given up and left it installed at a bizarre angle that was obviously wrong. He also claimed that my 10 year old A/C unit should be replaced very soon and probably wouldn't last the summer. I felt like he was more interested in convincing me to replace the equipment than in servicing it properly. I was prompted to write this review now because I received a renewal contract for annual service and it reminded me how unhappy I was with the last service. I used the A/C more than ever this summer due to the hot and humid weather and it had no problem keeping the house cool. The furnace has also been working overtime this very cold December and it has done just fine. I still don't know for sure which technician was right about the furnace, but they couldn't both have been right.

It went really well. It was quite a project. Our house was built in the 30's and the boiler was about 60 years old. They had to split the boiler up into eight pieces and they did a good job. They did a great job and came back so many times. It took multiple days to do the work. The bill was big. I got a rebate of $200 and a tax credit of $1,500.

We have been using Favret for several years now and they do a great job. Donavin was our service man yesterday and I was very impressed with him. He was knowledgable and really did a good job. All of the service people they have sent to our home speak very highly of their company, do a good job and are pleasant to have in our home. Even the lady that answers the phone is very nice. Keep up the good work!

Very professional, custom fit materials, job well done

Two years ago they replaced my furnace and this past August they replaced my air conditioner. This was during the heat wave and and they were expedient and had reasonable prices. They did wonderful work. Since then, I went to renew my annual service agreement. When I called, the woman I spoke with gave me a very high rate of $159.00 for the year. After speaking with her she said she could lower the price to $119.00. This still seemed very high since I had just replaced the equipment. When I looked on their website, they advertised for $96.00. I called them about that rate and the woman said I needed to speak with John. When I talked to John, he knew exactly why I was mad and he said they actually offer a cheaper maintenance plan for people who have recently purchased equipment, since a problem is less likely. Ultimately, I was able to get what I was wanting but it took a lot of work on my part. Overall, I have been very satisfied. I like them very well and think they do good work.

Patrick came to my house for the estimate and was on time. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions. He was not pushy at all. His pricing was slightly more than another bidder's (favret was right in the middle), but I went with Favret because 1. they have a very good reputation and 2. I don't like to pick the cheapest bid, afterall, you do get what you pay for! The installer showed up right on time. Work was completed in 1 day, though it was too cold to fine tune the AC. Tech said to call in the spring and they would do that at no charge of course. I am very satisfied with their work and plan to use them for the maintenence of the new system as well.

It went very well. The whole job took only a day, and they cleaned up well and tested the system after they were done. I have used this company before for repairs, some on an emergency basis, so I had a favorable opinion of them at the beginning. They have always been very professional, and I never forgot the time that my previous, old furnace broke down in the middle of a snowstorm, when all the companies were very busy and some were only attending to calls from people with service contracts. Favret came out right away, even though I did not have a service contract. After that experience, it would have been a tough sell for me to choose any other company for the new furnace.

We had used Favret last year to repair our air conditioner so today, when we needed to have our furnace repaired, I called them at 9:00 a.m.. The scheduler asked which window of time for an appointment I wanted, 12 - 4 or 2 - 6 and I said I needed 12 - 4. They took a phone number so they could call before they arrived. At 3:37 we still hadn't heard from anyone so I called Favret. The dispatcher told me that while I was on hold, another dispatcher sent the service tech to another appointment and that it would be at least another hour before they could get to us! I canceled the appointment. I feel that if you make an appointment you stick with it or at least call the customer if there is going to be a problem instead of waiting for the customer to call you. In this economy, there are a lot of other companies that will welcome my business and that will value my time.

Everything went very well! They called early in the morning when they said they would, and they were over to my house soon after. The two guys that showed up were very friendly and professional. They didn't mind me asking questions about what they were doing and gave me all the answers I needed. At the end they showed me everything that had been in the duct work and they cleaned up. I was very satisfied.

He wouldn't even consider it! He said the unit would be too close to the neighboring house, that the City wouldn't allow it. He said he wouldn't spend the money. A different company came out and dealt with the City (it was no trouble at all). They moved the compressor at not much cost and the back of the house looks great with that big thing out of the way for our garden and patio. As the technician from that company and I joked, I guess Favret really isn't worried about its business.

We called Favret to get a second service check of our furnance after receiving news noted above (high CPE levels, as well as getting a 'hard sell from the previous company about various services needed). The service person came the same day, a few hours later. Favret's representative did an excellent, thorough check of our heating system and found no concerns with our CO levels. We felt this person was not trying to sell us unwanted or unnecessary services but was honest about his findings.

The technician was right on time, very friendly and thorough. He thoroughly answered my questions.

Favret used to call every time we had a service call to find directions. When we had an installation where they were coming out three or four times a day, they would call three or four times a day. They wouldn?t record our directions or home location and it wasn?t personalized attention. We did not renew our contract.

A/C went out and the original tech diagnosed a frozen coil cause by a leak. Part was ordered and 2 days later, they arrived to put it in. After looking at the a/c and furnace set-up, the techs felt it was a badly designed area and would be very hard to access for any future cleaning or work. They spent time diagramming how to improve it, had a couple of conference calls with their office, and had what they needed made (redesigned the a/c box, moved the furnace over, remade some duct work and piping, etc). They came back the next day, at exactly the time promised and got to work. They explained all the while what they were doing and why. They finished within the timeframe promised, cleaned up after themselves and even were very nice to "can be annoying" Jack Russell Terriers. The techs, Tim and Elmer, were always communicating, very personable and clearly knew what they were doing. Both were polite beyond what we tend to get these days with service techs ... I knew that they had my best interests in mind and they treated me with the utmost respect, putting up with many silly questions without a problem. I have used Favret for years, and this experience today reminding me of why I keep using them. They are just great. Thanks....

The last service tech cleaned out the condensor line, but it makes me wonder what else they have not been doing. No effort made to offer me free services, repair for damage to drywall, carpet, etc. Just suggested that I call the service manager and report it. Why wouldn't he? Less than stellar. I should mention that I carried a maintenance policy on my mother's condo and a rental property as well. So I have used this company a lot and had no reason to doubt that they did their job until now.

Favret arrived the same day that we called in a panic because our air conditioner was not functioning and we were about to leave on a two week vacation. The representative that came out to give us the quote was very professional. Work could be scheduled within a week. The installation technicians had us cooling off the first day of a two day installation. Our job required some creative piping from one side of the basement to the other, through the foundation to the outside. The job was completed on time as promised. A technician was out immediately to instruct us in the use of our new equipment and we passed our city's inspection with "flying colors"!

I have been very please with them. They are very professional and their costs are very reasonable.

Nice gentleman provided good information, including brochures and detailed specs on furnaces -- better than any other company. He seemed very knowledgeable on the product and offered several alternatives. If they had a better price I would have selected them for the work.

Called the company Monday AM and they said they would arrive in the afternoon. The technician arrived at 1:15 PM and determined the problem within 5 minutes. He also hosed off the air conditioner fins and checked the freon level. We purchased a maintenance contract so they will be back to service and clean the furnace prior to the heating season. The contract also resulted in a 10% discount on the replaced component for the air conditioner.

Our 15 year old heat pump died and we started getting estimates. Favret had information on our model from the initial installation they did for the previous owners of our house and were able to give us an estimate the same day we called (Tuesday). They had the lowest estimate and were able to install it the earliest as well (Friday). The installers arrived on time and were very courteous and professional. Installation of the heat pump and blower took approximately 6 hours with the technician coming out about an hour later and staying about an hour to get it running. The sales department was very knowledgeable and worked with us to give us options for our air blower as well. It was a very good experience working with Favret and we're very satisfied with our new system.
