Favret Heating & Cooling

From start to finish this was a very good experience.

I was very impressed with their service overall. They were much more thorough than previous companies I had worked with. They explained what they were doing in detail. The man that did the repair was very honest. Their staff is very nice and accommodating when I asked them to wear booties on my shoes.

They're a good company. The air conditioning has been somewhat problematic, it's 15 years old or more. One year they filled it up and said it'll be fine but I might have to replace it. This year he had to replace the capacitor, $50, 45 dollars with a discount. I can only do freon once a year and after this year my freon is no longer environmentally sound so the options of buying a new one were pressed somewhat hard. I've come to grips that it's an old air conditioner. They filled it up with freon or whatever they use now and I'm hoping it'll last a couple years.

It went very well. The representatives were above average, and they are a good company. The price was fair as well.

I have a contract with them and pay only $183 a year. They had also installed the heating and cooling system. They were honest and responsive. They are very well-organized and keep me informed time and again, before their arrival. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

A recent weekend that was unseasonably warm made us reach for the central A/C on switch only to find that there was no response from the A/C unit. Checked fuses and connections and nothing. We had used Favret in the past for maintenance work on our A/C and furnace so we called to get a service man to come out. In the process, we signed up for their annual maintenenace contract when it became clear that the cost of a service call could reach about half the cost of the annual contract. With a furnace that is oveer 20yrs old, this made sense to us. The service man called ahead to say he was coming on the day of the appointment and arrived slightly earlier than later which was fine by me. He was very professional and curteous and slipped on the "booties" to cover his shoes when coming inside. He took time to wipe clean the furnace and related piping which was that extra that made me grateful that he was here and not another service man. An examination of the A/C unit determined a bad capacitor so he quickly replaced this and ran some tests to make sure the system was operating properly. He then proceded to wipe down the A/C unit as well as perform the maintenance that was part of the annual contract we had just purchased. Throught the whole process he was very considerate and professional. After he left I called the Favret office to express my sincere gratitude to them for sending Andre to do the service. We have also made Andre our preferred service man so he will get the call anytime we contact Favret for some kinfd of service. It is not often that we have had the joy of having such a considerate and thoughtful service person in our house. A huge thank you goes to Andre and Favret !!!

Favret H & C was contacted for an estimate to repair or replace a furnace. When they were not chosen to replace the furnace they delivered a bill claiming 2 hours of labor. Although I believe Favret should honor their advertised claim that they offer free estimates, if they must charge me a trip charge I could see the reasoning. However to charge 2 hours of labor just tofind out what is wrong with a furnace is either criminal or seriously incompetant. Besides the other HVAC companies did not require even 20 minutes at the house. I have not received any further contact from Favret but this matter should be settled.

Favrets two workers showed up on time and immediately put on "footies" to protect my flooring. They checked out the space and the way into the basement where they dragged an enormous vacuum cleaner contraption. They cut a large square in return duct to the furnace and inserted the vacuum cleaner. They turned it on. It sounded like a small jet taking off! Then they went up stairs and began uncovering all the vent entrances and returns and then began blowing all the dust down toward the giant vacuum cleaner. Then they drilled smaller holes in all the vents and blew all the dust and goo toward the vacuum. It took them a few hours but after it was all done, the air quality in the house was noticeably better. I notice there isn't the build up of dust on my furniture like there has been in the past. A few issues. When they came upstairs after they were done, I asked them if there was anything downstairs that I needed to clean up and they both said that everything was cleaned up. But when I got downstairs, there were metal pieces from where they had drilled in my laundry room in addition to my rehearsal room, on my gear and my turntable. There was dirt all over the floor. Not cool.

Both technicians were very professional and efficient and punctual. I received a call shortly before they arrived telling me they were on their way. James and Sabien both wore booties over their shoes to prevent any soil on the floors in my house - I appreciate that a lot! They showed me the minimal amount of dirt in the ductwork so that I could see for myself why they felt there was no need for a cleaning. How often does that happen?!

We called at 7:30 pm on Friday night to report the problem, and a technician came within 45 minutes to inspect it. He replaced the part and made sure the furnace was working again. It was a cold night and we certainly appreciated having heating that night. We also got an Angies' list discount! It was a very good experience.

Favret Heating & Cooling has been excellent. They come through for us every single time. They have not done any unncessary work. If they can't find the problem initially, they stick with it and come back until they do.

I spent $190 on that visit. I am comfortable with them. They are regular. They are not cheap. They do their job and keep a track of me and know who I am. They have been around for a long time and I am comfortable with them. I have been using them for 10 years.

WOW!! What a great job as well as two great guys who did the ductwork cleaning, Christian and Jim. They were very professional, and noted that I am a clean freak, and cleaned up great! This was a wonderful expereince using my Angie's great deal, and this is my new heating and cooling company. They found that my cool air intake was open in the basement (critertia 1930 hoiuse) but we had a new heating system completed in '03, and that should have been found at that time! Thanks again!

They showed me what came out of my ducts, explained the process and what to expect over the following couple of days.

It went well. They were very good at explaining parts and processes during the replacement.

They have been very responsive and they take care of their customers.

The work went well. There focused on fixing the current system, they never try to sell us anything. I hear horror stories about companies trying to sell you a whole system instead of trying to fix the problem on hand. The service man that was out, definitely focused on fixing the problem on hand. The good thing about them was that it was in very short notice. When it was starting to get very hot we realized our air conditioner wasn't working. The unit functioned great, they fixed it pretty quickly. He went through the trouble shooting list for the unit and found out what the problem was. The price was definitely reasonable, they were timely, they were professional, and I would recommend them to others. They did exactly what we needed.

The work they did has improved air-circulation in the house. Earlier, the power used to get cut-off in between, during winters; which has resolved. I liked their work and they were punctual for the job. I have used their service about 5 to 6 times, over the last 5 years and have been very happy with the same. I will continue to use their services in future.

The punctuality was excellent and the pricing was very good. They did a great job. Their professionalism was great.

Repair took about 1 Hr. repairman had motor in his truck.

My furnace had been making a noise. A plumber who had been at my house recommended I get it looked at because there could be somthing stuck in the furnace that is hitting the fan and would eventually break. Called for an appt and got one the same day. They called first and arrived shortly. Technician was very courteous and explained what needed to be done. My furnace ended up needed a new motor. The old one was warped. He fixed it and confirmed everything was working and answered all my questions.

They were very good. They came as soon as they could. They worked all day to get my issues fixed. I have not had a problem since they have came.

We spent $5800 on that service. We have used them for a long time, so obviously we are pleased with them. When we find someone we use them over and over.

I have a service contract with them. They come out in the fall and the spring.

I woke up to no heat on 1/23/11 at around 4 am. It was about 8 degrees outside. I started calling heating companies for help. I called: Airflo, AtlasButler, Cols/Worthington Air and Favret. Favret called me back within the hour and had a tech on site shortly after. The tech determined quickly that it was the igniter on my furnace (apologizing the whole time about the time & 1/2 emergency service rate) He did not have the exact igniter (I found out later that none of the companies did) and tried to use a universal igniter, which was too short. The tech was very helpful - and even took the Angies List 10% discount. I called Favret at 8 am on Monday (1/24) and they had already ordered the part. I'm expecting the tech back at any moment. Thank you, Favret! (Note that Airflow, who I used to have a service contract, didn't even call me back until noon that day, more than 7 hours later. The other companies called back much more quickly.)
