Eagle Specialty Remodeling

The work went just as promised. One of Eagle's employees, Mike, did the majority of the work by himself. He arrived on time. Completed the work on schedule, always cleaning up afterwards. He was extremely professional, making what can be a disruptive process, relatively painless. Scott, the owner stopped by regularly to guage the progress and to resolve any issues. (There really weren't any.) We would not hesitate in recommending Eagle Specialty Remodeling.

I've paid them quite a bit of money already. I would use them again.

I called them out to give us an estimate for building a bathroom into our master bedroom. They arrived as scheduled and took a very quick look at the job and then told us they would get back to us with an estimate. We waited for over a week then followed up with an email, still no estimate. Then another week later I called and actually spoke with the individual who came out to look at the job and he promised he would email the quote over that afternoon. Again, no response....ever.

They were very timely, but I didn't end up chosing them. They got back to me in the time they said they would. They were really nice and listened but the quote itself wasn't very detailed. I gave them a budget and they went way over and didn't follow up with me to explain why it was so much higher. That was a little off putting. They were fine, Imay have just had an unrealistic idea of what it costs to remodel my kitchen.

They arrived to measure for the estimate promptly, and it was scheduled only the day after I called them. Their estimate was in the range of two others I received, but since they had a schedule that would not allow for them to perform the work for 2-3 months, and I had previously used one of the other companies with good success, I did not go with Eagle Remodeling.

They were very professional and cooperative. They were very accommodating to what we wanted. They were willing to talk about details that they were putting in. We felt like we had some control on the way it was going to end up. They asked our opinion about things. The workers were excellent. They were Amish craftsmen and they were extremely good at what they did. Things turned out right when they did it. They are not the cheapest but their prices were reasonable and competitive. They were punctual. They had indicated that it would take six weeks for the porch and it took a lot longer but that didn't particularly matter to us because we were not going to use it until the spring. It was probably preferable because we had a chance to interact more with them as they were building it and there were some decisions made along the way that made it nicer for us. They were responsive and punctual. They are probably the best company we have dealt with. We are looking to have some additional work done and we are seriously considering using them.

This is excellant company - a family business with their own work crew and no subs for the construction work. Very professional and great to work with. I will use them aagain for my kitchen re-modle...

I have worked with them several time, they have remodeled two bathrooms for me. I really like Eagle, that's why I've used them twice already. They do very good work and are very careful about things.

The owner himself came out to give me a bid. Everything went well, he was courteous, he came at the right but we dropped the project because we didn't want to spend the money. The owner seemed very knowledgeable. He knew what we were asking, he was able to give us ideas about it, he knew his job basically. His explanation over everything he was going to do was very good we just didn't want to spend the money at the time.

Eagle Specialty Remodeling was very willing to please. If there was something I did not like they would fix it for me.

I thought the price was fair for the work that they did. They did outstanding work by giving attention to detail. They were very polite and courteous. I will use them again in the future.

They were punctual, professional and very timely with the estimate and design ideas. We chose another company, mostly due to price.

The estimate process was fine. They were very prompt and quick in getting back to me. The estimate they gave me was in line with the other estimate that I received. I would recommend them. They were fine. I would have used them if I really thought that there was a huge difference. It’s a small company and I am sure that they would be good to work with. My plumber recommended them. They are probably a really good company. However, I chose someone else for the work.

Overall, it went very well. They say they don't use sub-contractors, which isn't quite true. They do hire independent workers. But it was all very good.

Everything was great and we actually ahd them do a basement as well. They're very professional and they;re here when they say they will be. They resolve any and all issues we have.

The work was pretty satisfactory. John made some recommendations that worked well. He recommended a pocket door for space saving. He did a pretty satisfactory job. He was a conscientious worker. They were able to do the plumbing and electric as well. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with.

We have worked with them in the past and we had a really good experience. The negative part was that we would schedule the work and they never did turn up. I think if they had done that, I probably would have moved forward and had the project done. They kind of dropped the ball and the project was never done. Initially they were very responsive and came out very quickly.

The rooms look great. Once Eagle started working, they had one or more people on the job every day until the remodeling was completed. This was very important to us and greatly appreciated. We have had the misfortune of contractors starting a job and then disappearing for weeks before completing the work. Eagle was very helpful in the making selections of materials and providing advice as to alternatives. They were very receptive to making changes as the job progressed and even readily agreed to move a medicine cabinet that we had mistakenly placed off center. In addition, they were willing to work with our cabinet maker (Miller Cabinets). This is in contrast to contractors that we interviewed that only wanted to install their cabinets. Eagle also recommended a good painter and helped coordinate his work as the bathrooms and kitchen progressed. We also appreciate the help and continuity that their primary worker, John, provided on a daily basis. He was on the job from start to finish. His tile work is outstanding, and he was able to improvise to make things work. As with any large project, there are items that will need to be adjusted or fixed. Eagle readily addressed some minor issues regarding cabinet drawers and a leaky faucet.

Overall, the process was great. Scott took the time to listen and hear exactly what I wanted to accomplish. I stressed I wanted to match the exact architectural aesthetics of the house (built in 1919) and they did a good job. They were the only estimate that was willing to hand dig the foundation so to not disturb the retaining wall, irrigation system and landscaping already in place. Myron performed the excavation, foundation, framing, window installation and siding and was outstanding. He even identified a broken roof truss and fixed it. He was extremely polite, made sure the work area was cleaned up each evening and did a fantastic job. Overall, they were exactly within the timeframe they expected the job to take and the craftsmanship was excellent. My only negative point was after discussing a design point with Tom (who manages the work crews), it was not communicated to Myron, which led to the exterior not lining up exactly as we had discussed, but this was also my fault, as I should have made sure what we discussed was written down. Other than that, everything was fantastic and I would definitely hire them again for any remodeling needs I have.

Our experience was great. Scott and Claire met with us two times before we made the decision to go with Eagle. They were friendly and eager to earn our business. They estimated the date they would start on our project and started right on time. Claire seemed to be just as concerned about how everything looked as I was. She was extremely helpful when picking out and ordering the components of our new bathrooms. John was assigned to our home and did all of the work. We really felt like he took pride in the work and made sure everything was done well. If something didn't look right, he fixed it before we even were aware. He even decided he should move a recessed mirror up 1/4 of an inch, so it would open more easily. (I'm not sure I would have even noticed!) These "extras" were an extremely pleasant surprise since this was our first remodeling experience...and we had heard horror stories from our friends. The total time of the project took about a week longer than expected, but this was not upsetting since we felt the high standard of quality was worth it. We could not be happier and we are already planning our next project with Eagle.

The original estimate of time was to be around 3 to 3 1/2 weeks. It took almost eight and there are still a couple of small items left to do as of this date (08/21/09). Part of the problem was delays in getting inspections done, which I know is out of the contractors hands. The main problem was that some of the sub-contractors were not very good about getting to the job when they said they would which then caused the next step in the process to be delayed. I couple of times one of the subs didn't show at all when they said they would. The qualitiy of the work was very good when it did get done. We would probably use them again, but would not depend on the schedule they say would take place.

They just walked through the house- they didn't take the time to ask any questions about what the work would be, take any measurements, etc. The quote was very high and I ended up going with another company.

We had a caved-in exterior shower wall. Eagle gave us an estimate based on a few different scenarios likely to have caused the problem. Theirs was by far the most reasonable estimate for the work we wanted to have performed. Upon starting the work, Mike could literally pull off the old tiles and drywall by hand-the drywall had rotted because the builder installed a sheet of plastic between the drywall and the insulation, causing a vapor lock and preventing moisture from showers/baths to escape. We had to wait for the insurance adjuster to inspect it and once that was done, Mike tore out the entire tile surround including drywall, tub, fixture and towel bars. He installed new cement board, new tiles, a new tub, a new fixture, and replaced the old soap dish and towel bar. Due to some family issues, he wasn't able to devote a full day's work a few days, but the other days he worked hard all day and got the job finished in 6 days-including the time waiting for the insurance adjuster, and waiting for grout and caulk to set. After installing the tub, we discovered that the builder shorted the vinyl floor(unsurprising)so Eagle said they'd install a 1/2 round baseboard to keep the floor down. It took several calls over several months to get them to come back to do that. Since the work was done(two years ago ...)I've had to replace the caulk under the tiles at the top of the tub.

From the moment we talked to completion, things went smoothly and my needs were always considered. They told me the start date and they started on that date. The entire project was done within three months which I considered remarkable even tho we had good weather. I knew who was coming the next day and they consistently worked on the addition. If something wasn't quite what I wanted, they changed it. They were considerate and careful of my pets. Overall, everything when far better with less frustration to me than I ever dreamed it could. I have already contracted with Eagle for another smaller project.

They were fantastic. Their work is very high quality. They have good ideas and they are willing to work with you. Their punctuality was perfect.
