+ -1 moreEagle did an excellent job on our kitchen. We recommend them highly. Scott, Shannon and Mike were the team members who worked on our project. Scott had a great vision for how our kitchen could look and made wonderful suggestions. For example, he suggested that we enlarge the window over the sink, something that never would have occurred to us. He was right! It looks great! He made himself available whenever we had questions or concerns. Shannon provided guidance throughout the entire process, assisting in the selection of granite, hardware, cabinets, sink, faucet, backsplash, etc. We had never done such a big project and Shannon was available in person or by email to guide us and made excellent suggestions to ensure that our kitchen decor would look great. Mike was the person who actually did all of the work on our project. He was always on time, left the work area spotless each night and always kept me informed regarding the project process. Mike is a perfectionist and very talented at remodeling work. He did an outstanding job. Eagle brought in other companies to do electric work, HVAC, plumbing and flooring. Those companies did a fine job, as well, and were very polite and professional.
Description of Work: Eagle did a complete kitchen remodel- hardwood flooring, enlarged window, raised ceiling, new cabinets, new island, granite countertops, installed new appliances. They also updated our wet bar area by installing a cabinet with drawers, bookcase and granite countertop.

+ -1 moreTom and Scott along with their employees (Clare, Tim, Myron, Howard, TomIII) and sub-contractors are extremely skilled, professional, courteous, and friendly. Being fairly picky, I had lots of questions and preferences which they each and every time listened to, took the time to offer experienced options and suggestions, and then proceeded to go with whatever I decided. All are craftspeople who take pride in their work, and it shows. Tim did all of the finish work which was excellent. He goes the extra mile to make sure the customer gets the end result he/she is envisioning. My only suggestion would be that Eagle's standard operating procedures or communication practices be tightened up somewhat since it wasn’t always clear who would be doing what / when. (but maybe that’s the way all construction projects go) At any rate, Eagle is “good people”, very skilled, a pleasure to work with, and did a beautiful job on my kitchen.
Description of Work: Last year, Eagle Specialty Remodeling expanded a small room off of my kitchen to include a laundry area and half bath. The area turned out great, so I contracted with Eagle again for my kitchen remodel. The kitchen job required tearing out the old cabinets and old flooring and taking one exterior wall down to the studs. Then insulation and wallboard were installed on that wall and part of the ceiling. A new window was installed over the sink and the header board along the ceiling was replaced due to rotting from an old leak in the bathroom above. In preparation for new hardwood flooring, the old subfloor was leveled and repairs were made where old vents etc. had been removed. New cabinets were installed as well as a new island, some ceiling lighting was rearranged, several electrical outlets and under-counter lighting were installed, a third switch for the overhead lights was added which is so convenient, and tile was installed on the 18’ long backsplash. Floor tile was also installed in the 3x6 entryway. The old laundry chute used to go to the basement but, with the laundry located next to the kitchen, the chute needed to be diverted to the kitchen area. Tim did a great job working around the chimney stack in the wall to devise a neatly concealed chute within the kitchen cabinet that works great. Eagle’s cost did not include flooring or countertops, which I purchased separately.

+ -1 moreIt was at least 4 months since the time I signed the contract to the actual first nail being hammered home. One excuse after another. Calls were not returned. Finally when the project was completed, we had a roof leak. Again, no return calls or definitive time when they would come out. It took them at least 2 months to nail down the leak, most due to putting me off time and time again. I just went through all of my emails to them and was shocked how many times I begged for them to come out and fix the roof. What has prompted me to write this poor review were the down spout issues. This was the last straw. The downspouts running across part of the addition were made exactly parallel and level to the ground which as anyone knows, water will no flow. So now the water comes out of the seam between the elbow and level part of the downspout. It puddles horribly in our yard where we walk. We had a sheet of ice there in the winter. I've left 3 messages with promises that when the weather gets better they would be out. It's April and still an issue. I'm done with contacting them and I'll fix it myself. If you hire this company, don't expect to get things done on time and any corrective issues will NOT be dealt with in a timely manner or at all.
Description of Work: Constructed a pitched roof on an addition where the previous owner had cut corners and put a flat roof on it (Kitchen addition). Eagle also put in access door to knee wall, added gutters etc.

+ 3 moreThey came and got the job done. They did a nice job! There were two guys and they were here probably at least four days for getting all the work done. I remember doing some extra wood trim work above and beyond what was called for in the contract and he didn't consider it a big deal because he loved working wood. They put down new linoleum flooring over the old. It wasn't any big deal. I would have preferred that they have taken the old linoleum off which they didn't do but that was neither here nor there; it was fine. They also installed bathroom cabinet. The quality was fine, workmanship was great! They kept track of things and I don't remember any issues with them not being here. They were extremely professional.
Description of Work: Eagle Specialty Remodeling did kitchen work, bathroom remodeling, installation of shower and some touch up on wood work for us.

+ 1 moreIt was one of the best investments we hae made. It is a joy. They did a great job and has made life so much easier. We used them in the past and decided to use them again because of their work ethic. And the whole experience was pleasant. They clean up is good and they do what they stae they are going to do in a timely manner. They put the laundry upstairs from part of a bathroom and remodeled a bathroom. They also installed 2 pocket doors and the laundry has a bi fold door. They also constructed walls to make complete rooms. They do great work, we have used them in the past. Their designs and craftsmanship is impeccable. You can call them with an issue and they show up immediately to resolvce that issue.

+ -1 moreThey did good work. They had first told us that our existing furnace would heat our room, and then they found out differently and we did have to buy another heater for that space. I'd suggest to anyone using them, if they have a home built after 2000 and they're going to add on a room, that the heating system would heat the additional room. I do wish they would've figured that out first, as we did have to pay more than we'd expected.

+ -1 moreI thought their people were very professional and reliable. If they said they were coming out at a certain time, they were always here. Usually, they would just send one person in to do the work. They are there for a few days. They sent two people in because I think they had a man who had finished the job he was on. So, they sent him in to help Tom, the guy who was doing the work. Anyhow, I found them to be very good. If I had a problem with anything which I had a couple of small problems, they sent somebody out to fix it right away. I thought their price was expensive, but to redo bathrooms especially if you are having tiles done, it is expensive. So, I would say the price was reasonable.

+ -1 moreWhen we started on this project we had several family members and friends who told us horror stories about remodeling and companies who wouldn't show up for days and weeks at a time. We weren't sure what to expect so you can imagine our relief and delight when Eagle did everything they said they would do from the get go. They started when they said they would, they checked in with us and kept us informed on a regular basis. We had workmen in our home everyday. In fact, there were days we had 4 or 5 workmen here at once. In the meantime, Clare was coordinating the materials and helping us make the best choices for our taste and space. My husband in an engineer and he is particular about how the work is done. Eagle did the work to his specifications and beyond. Last year we scheduled a vacation for a week that fell into the remodeling. We had worked with Eagle long enough at that point to have no reservations whatsoever about leaving our house in their hands. One of our friends commented, and quot;I'll bet they didn't do much work while you were gone.and quot; To the contrary, our neighbors reported that there were 3 and 4 trucks in our driveway everyday while we were gone and we were impressed by the change when we got home. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience and the quality of the work that was done by Eagle Specialty Remodeling. We're not exaggerating when we say that our experience couldn't have gone better. Will we use them again? Absolutely!
Description of Work: We hired Eagle Specialty Remodeling to gut and remodel our kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and living room. We interviewed 3 remodelers and Eagle stood out. From the first day we met Clare and Scott we felt they were genuinely interested in us and our project. They offered us lots of affordable ideas and seemed as invested in an excellent outcome as we were. They assigned a project manager, John, to our home and he was absolutely outstanding! Not only is he a master craftsman, he also kept things moving and didn't skimp on details. When we needed to make an adjustment or change something John was on it. He never complained and he also came up with plenty of good ideas for us. Mike, Tim, and Howard were also part of the Eagle team who worked on our project and are top-notched craftsmen themselves. Every one of them were very pleasant and accomodating, making sure the dog didn't get out and that we were happy with the work. At one point we had to make a major change in our living room plans due to a structural issue. Eagle responded with several options within a day. They were able to talk us through each option and we ended up with a far better outcome than we had anticipated. The work that they did is A+, top-notch work. We literally have a new home and it is beautiful!

+ -1 moreThree contractors were interviewed for the job and Eagle listened to our needs and desires better than the other contractors and worked within our budget. Their design provided the most usable space for our kitchen. We had several unique issues with our kitchen and their design solved all of them. Their estimate on both the budget and the time of completion were right on. Even though we lost power for part of the project they immediately returned as soon as we had power back. There were no major issues during the remodel but what small items did come up were dealt with quickly and resolved with 100% satisfaction. I would definitely use Eagle again on another home project. Tom and his group are true professionals with a goal of complete customer satisfaction.
Description of Work: Eagle performed a complete kitchen remodel. Nothing from the original kitchen remained in the new kitchen. New electrical, cabinets, flooring, lighting, back splash, granite counter tops etc. While some work is performed by subcontractors they only use quality subcontractors. The subcontractors were just as conscientious as the employees. We were assigned a very experienced and capable project manager who oversaw the entire job as well as performed a lot of the actual work. It is an amazing transformation. A note to homeowners going through their first large remodel, most remodeling contractors will not do any painting and staining associated with the project. Eagle recommended an individual that did a great job for us.

+ 4 moreThe profect was actually two years in the making. I got my first estimate in 2010, and at the time we couldn't afford to do all that we wanted done. So, we had our cabinets refinished and installed a new counter top and fixtures. (this was not done by Eagle.) I kind of wish we'd waited to do it all at once, but we managed to match everything with the 2 year old counters and faucets during this remodel. This time I finished the project exactly the way I pictured. I think it is important to shop around and look at lots of displays before you begin a project so you have a fairly clear idea of what you want. I had time to do that and when we started this year, I was ready. That made it much easier. Clare and Scott helped make suggestions to enhance what I had in mind. That was the 'icing' on the cake! We actually started the project intending to do just the master bathroom, but once we started and I saw how fantastic it looked, I felt we had to do tile and other updates in the hall bathroom. So we had Eagle change the fixtures in the hall bath, and tile the floor, and install new hardware. We did not replace the vanity or sink in this bathroom either. Everyone has individual tastes and needs. Eagle Specialty remodeling keeps that in mind and really caters to you.. They listened to what I wanted, they made great suggestions to enhance those ideas and through collaboration, we got 2 gorgeous 'new' bathrooms. I highly recommend this company!
Description of Work: Clare and Scott first came out and we discussed how to remodel our bathroom to make it better fit our need. Claire does the design work and Scott gives the construction quotes. They are a great team. They helped us design a bigger, new shower, and gave ideas how to remodel the bathroom. I loved their ideas, but also wanted to put my personal touch on it, and they were more than willing to listen to my ideas, but still offered their opinions. I wasn't sure we could re-arrange our bathroom the way I suggested. It was not a problem for them to do so, and Scott explained how it could be done. I thought they were great to work with. Their remodeler, John, was fantastic. I believe they have several 'teams', but I can only attest to John's great work. He can do most anything. He is excellent in laying tile, carpentry, drywall...whatever is needed. He is very easy going and doesn't get rattled when you 'throw' last-minute changes at him. They do hire subcontractors for plumbing and electrical work. I liked that I was getting a professional who specialized in these jobs. We remodeled two bathrooms and John installed a new tile floor in both rooms. He also custom-made our shower with tile and new shower doors. We doubled the size of our shower. He built a tub deck around a new jacuzzi tub. There was a small space that I referred to as 'dead' space, and John suggested building in a custom floor cabinet with a lid to store bath towels in. Plus it serves as a bench to sit on while dressing. It is an awesome oak bench. John is a great carpenter. It was helpful that he could provide suggestions to further inhance this project. To be more specific, here is what they did in both rooms: Master Bathroom: tiled floors and built tub deck for jacuzzi in the dressing area. In the 'water closet' they flipped the position of the shower and toilet and enlarged the shower area. They hung a cabinet over the toilet. They tiled the entire shower area and floor. The hall bathroom: They replaced the fixtures in the shower, and put up all new hardware. John also tiled the floor. We did not replace the vanities in either bathroom.

+ 12 moreEagle Specialty Remodeling did a fantastic job on our project Myron did most of the work himself and his craftmanship is second to none. His attention to detail was superb. If there was anything not to our satisfaction, Myron would stop and make it right. Myron was a pleasure to work with. Our only complaint was at the end of the project when Scott, one of the owners, presented us with a bill almost $10,000.00 over the original bid. We did have them do some additional things that were not on their quote, but thought their charge for these items was excsessive . They agreed to take $3000.00 of this charge off the bill because it was for the ceramic floor that was already in the original bid. We paid the additional bill because we realize they had extra time involved in our project. They tried very hard to please us and the result is beautiful. We would recommend them, but would caution anyone using their services to be sure and get a firm price for any work being performed to avoid extra charges at the end.
Description of Work: Eagle built a sunroom addition onto our home. They re-sided the entire house with fiber cement siding. The shingles were replaced.The front and back doors were replaced. A fireplace was removed and drywall was added.They made an entry way to allow access to the sunroom.

New cabinets, hard wood floors throughout the kitchen and entry hall, cam lighting inset into the ceiling, new trim, new sinks, toilet, appliances. they added an incredible back splash that really compliments the cabinets and ties the floor and the cabinets together. Even the detail of personally bringing over cabinet door knobs that would work with our scheme!!!They had a timely and helpful response to our request for drawings and quotes. Other companies we had contacted and requested quotes from did not even bother to respond to us.We had several visits to their office to help give us ideas of cabinet styles and flooring options and anything else we needed assistance with.They walked us through the entire process and 100% delivered on their quote and on the quality of craftmanship!!! There were no hidden or added costs and there were no surprises. I would use them again in a heartbeat to have any remodeling work done in my home!!

+ -1 moreEagle was extremely reponsive to our request for a quote. They returned our call that day and we were able to make an appointment very quickly to discuss our project. We were able to quickly come up with the scope and high level sketches of what we would like to do. They were very good at following up with us and their quote was very competitive with other vendors. Their quote had more transparency than other quotes we received and as numbers people we appreciate that. We ended up going with another contractor but came away with being very impressed with the customer service and operations at Eagle.

+ 0 moreWe called Eagle andthey were very prompt and professional in coming out to our house to give us a quote on finsihing our basement. Scott and Claire were great with their time and had some very good design ideas. Upon leaving he told us he wouldn't be surprised if we got quotes anywhere from $10,000-$40,000 for our job. Scott told us that he was willing to negotiate since he wanted to be competitive. A day later Scott called us back with a few questions and sounded very interested in working with us. He told us he would have a quote for us in about 1 week. We felt very comfortable with him and were excited to see his quote. When he did send us the quote it was for over $46,000 which was more than double what everyone else was quoting. Even taking out the "splurge" items the cost was still very high. I had someone involved with construction look at the quote and they could not figure out why the numbers were so high. We did not feel trying to negotiate a price was worth our time since the price was so much higher than everyone elses. Maybe Eagle didn't really want the job so they gave us a high quote. We felt the amount was ridiculous so we went with another company. I hope our experience with the price was just a strange occurance but we felt we should share.

+ 1 moreEven though website indicates interest in wndow and door replacements, initial contact person was negative about bidding on such work. Only after saying we would also be doing kitchen and bath remodel later did they agree to send someone out. The individual who arrived parked in front of the house with engine running and others in the car and came into the house to see what work we wanted done. He spent very little time here and never followed through with any written bid. I would not use them for a big job when they show so little interest in a $7K project.
Description of Work: Requested bid on storm window and entry door replacements. Future consideration for bathroom and kitchen remodeling.
