Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Ohio

The tech was an hour and a half early, which was great. He called ahead to make sure I would be there. The work was quick and done well. He gave me some pointers on how to keep up with maintaining the system.

I guess pretty good. I had a hose that came loose later on but they did come back to fix it.

After we had our dryer heating element burn out, the dryer repair technician told us that our vent was completely blocked and we shouldn't use it until that is cleared out. He recommended Dryer Vent Wizard. We called them and scheduled an appointment for the following Saturday between 8:30 and 9:30am. At 10:00am on the day scheduled, no one had showed up so we called to find out when we should expect them. Rick called us back and apparently gave the technician the wrong schedule, so he finally arrived around 11am. After inspecting the vent, he went to work and found that we did, in fact, have a significant amount of lint build up. He also advised that we should change the flexible tube we had running from the dryer to the wall vent should be replaced by a rigid steel tube. They will install one for $89, but I chose to do that myself and save about $80. He cleared the vent and everything has been working properly since. Very helpful, very professional. At $240 for about 20 minutes work, the price seemed a bit steep. $90 to install a vent tube also seems pretty steep. Despite the frustrating experience with the scheduling issue, I would consider using them again but will probably price shop a little next time.

Dryer Vent Wizard was very professional and quickly answered my emails with one business day when I had questions. The bird cages should definitely keep the birds out from here on out.

It went very well. I have used them before and they are a very good company. They guy that came cleaned up everything, in fact he even swept around my dryer. I have not picked up some dirt that I have not swept so he swept it up and picked it up and everything. He was very professional and very nice. He did above and beyond. He was a very nice guy. It was a good price.

Chris called prior to his scheduled arrival time offering to arrive early. He reviewed his inspection with me and proceeded to complete what needed to be done. His work was professional while being friendly.

James was right on time and had a positive attitude. He wore shoe covers while walking inside the house without being asked to do so. He was professional and got right to work inspecting the dryer's lint trap and inspecting the outside dryer vent (which was last inspected and cleaned by the same company in 2009). James explained several options I had when I inquired about replacing the current dryer vent cover which was keeping birds out but also trapping lint from the dryer to the point where the vent was blocked and becoming a fire hazard. James clearly explained how he would replace the old vent with a more modern and maintenance free one. Prior to performing the vent cleaning and vent removal/install, he wrote out the entire cost and explained it to me so I knew exactly what I was paying before he started the work which I greatly appreciated. James was professional throughout my interactions with him and was never pushy or came across as a salesman. I found everything with James and the company to be satisfactory except for the price for the vent cleaning and service call. While James reviewed every fee with me prior to starting his work, Dryer Vent Wizard does not mention the $49 service call fee in any of its advertisements nor was it explained to me by the woman who told me the cost of the vent cleaning when she scheduled my appointment. While I feel that James did a great job and understand a business like this has to be able to afford the equipment and pay its employees well, $49 just to show up in my driveway and $179 for a second story vent cleaning seems a bit excessive. While a ladder was involved, the time it took just to inspect and clean out the vent was relatively straight forward and very quick (about 10-15 minutes at the most). While I was disappointed about the cost, especially the steep service charge, I would still recommend them and anticipate using their services again in the future.

That service turned out fine. It was a short line and one technician came out. It didn’t take him very long. He came when promised and did the work. It has been working fine ever since.

Update: I received a call today based on this review. They were extremely apologetic and explained there must have been an issue with the calendar. They offered to come out today and perform the service free of charge. The technician was at my house 20 minutes later and was extremely pleasant and professional. I am very pleased. I understand that mistakes do happen and it says a lot about the integrity of the company that they performed the service free of charge.

He came early on both occasions after calling to see if it was ok. Was very polite, knowledgeable and honest. We couldnt be happier with the end result
