Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Ohio

I was happy with the technician Jack who visited my house and was in and out in about 12 minutes! Yes, 12 minutes total! Jack was kind and respectful. He did a great job and cleaned up all the lint that he unclogged and blew out. I am more concerned with the price! SO EXPENSIVE! $328.50 to unclog a dryer vent that only took 12 minutes! That is why I attached my bill to be transparent. As a single dad, I don't have time to call multiple companies and get competing quotes. Or time to rent the necessary equipment or buy the equipment at a hardware store. My dryer would not work. The 4-inch dryer pipe was completely clogged! Would I use them again, NO. Would I recommend them, NO. Would I call a plumber to use similar tools to unclog my dryer pipe for half the price, YES!!!! All you need is a spin brush attached to a drill and a leaf blower. I am happy the my dryer works now. Just shocked that it cost $328.50 (the $49 inspection fee is also added in and on top of the service price). Some companies waive the "inspection fee" if you agree to the service and have them complete the work in the same day. They share to have Dryer Vent Wizard come out every 2 years to service. No way!

Very good! The vent hose came loose and they re-attached it. On time, courteous, always true to their word.

Our technician was Chris. He called before arriving, as requested. He immediately noticed a problem at the outdoor vent, which was full of lint and blocked by a screen. He advised removing the screen for better air flow. He inspected the vent installation and cleaned the vent from outside through to the back of the dryer. He cleaned up the loosened lint before leaving. He was very professional. The cost was exactly what was estimated on the phone, except that the scheduler neglected to mention the service charge. Other than that, I was pleased with the service.

I recently noticed that the catch basin for my dryer vent was filling up with lint and decided to have it emptied and my vent cleaned at the same time. Since the basin is on the 2nd floor, I need someone to come empty it for me, and I reached out to a a few vendors on Angie's List, none of whom got back to me. Dryer Vent Wizard has almost unanimously positive ratings, so I contacted them directly, and set up an appointment. The technician who came out, Chris, was on time, courteous, and thoroughly professional throughout. He saw that the basin needed emptying and also informed me that it was against fire code to have a trap basin for the lint like that, something which makes perfect sense to me, even though many people use one. He offered to put in a closing over the vent that pushes the lint out through a sliding door device, and I agreed to the work. He tested my vent to see if it was clogged and it needed cleaning. It did not. The price charged, including the service call was about $140.00, well worth it, as now I believe all of my lint is being pushed out of the vent without it being a fire risk. The company has my strong recommendation--in fact, I recommended them to my condominium neighbors.

I called their customer service and explained to them in very detail that my dryer vent need a thorough inspection since I am pretty sure that the contractor who worked on my basement bathroom has connected the dryer vent to the bathroom exhaust fan. After listening to my concerns, they said a technician will come and do an inspection. When the technician came, all he did was to connect a blower to my dryer vent and decided no air was blower from the outlet outside the house. I asked him to camera inspection, he said he did not carried with him and I need to call the office again for them to come out with camera for inspection. He first tried to charge me $59 for this worthless inspection and when I said your office quoted $49, he then agreed to charge the same. I felt he just came to get the money and left, did nothing to make sure to actually find the real issue. I called their office to complain and I was being told by their representative that she just handles the scheduling and will make the owner call me back that I never received any call back from them.

Technician was courteous and cleaned our 15 foot long dryer exhaust pipe in about 5 minutes. Price was over $260. This might be a competitive price, but next time I plan to get more than one quote just to make sure.

Jim was great. He inspected everything and then explained everything to me in detail. Did not try to oversell me on anything. Replaced the pipe I had behind my dryer which was a fire hazard with a new one. Fully cleaned out the duct and showed me how to upkeep the cleaning of my dryer as well. Very nice and professional! Would recommend!

This was the second time Frances cleaned our dryer vent. He was on time, courteous, professional, and competent. We were pleased with his honesty and recommendations for future cleanings. We will definitely try to hire them again.

Service ok but way too expensive for what was done. Would not recommend to anyone.

Mr. Coleman was courteous and explained everything he would be doing. He was able to call and ask if I was available for an early arrival because he had finished another job early! So definitely on time and the service was completed in a timely manner. I would like to include that I am a repeat customer.

No problems with the technician Chris but had issues with the company as a whole. Horrible customer service. The condo complex in which I own a unit recommended this company to do the cleanings and indicated we should get some sort of group rate. That didn’t happen. In fact, they charged me the almost $200 cleaning fee on top of the $49 service fee (NOT an inspection). Also, they told me they couldn’t do estimates over the phone, but the technician told me it was going to be $198 to clean without even taking a look! I’m sorry, but knowing the cost without looking but not giving me a quote over the phone means they wanted to charge me the $49 service fee regardless. They should have at least offered a range over the phone after giving a description of the unit, as I think $200 for a cleaning plus a $50 service fee is overpriced. At this point I figured to go ahead and pay them to do the work since I was going to be out $50 anyway. I didn’t want to give my credit card to the technician so he told me to call the head office to make the payment, otherwise he couldn’t do the work. He got there before 8:30, but the office didn’t open until 9, so this rather irritated me as well. (At this point I had spoken to the scheduler who was the only one in the office, and she was the only one in this whole process who was understanding and sympathetic. I had to call the office to get ahold of the office manager after 9.) And when I explained to Michelle how the customer service had been lacking, she basically said sorry once (clearly not caring about my issues), took my credit card info, and left it at that. I would never hire these guys again.

Punctual. More expensive than I was originally told. Mr. Coleman cleaned out from the outside vent only. It did not suck out the lint afterwards like he said it would. Now there is a loud noise. I kept asking Mr. Gutridge for him to come back and was told there was a warranty and he would, but he never contacted me nor came back. Very disappointed.

Be careful with this one. I called to schedule a cleaning based on reviews but asked how they charge for the service. I understand everyone's set up is different. I just needed to understand if we're talking $50 or $500. Man on phone said the technician would quote a price before any work was completed. Then as he was scheduling me, he said there would be a $49 inspection fee just to look at it. In other words, it costs $49 just for an estimate. Dryer vent cleaning company in Naples, FL told me up front - $50 + gave me the cost per foot of line from dryer to outside vent so I knew what I was getting into. This company wouldn't tell me how they charge.

Jim and James were professional and courteous. Jim explained the process and provided a quote prior to performing services. They cleaned the vent and replaced the vent cap and inside dryer vent hose to meet fire code. Excellent job! I highly recommend Dryer Vent Wizard!

Perfect! Was pleased with the schedule as I was receiving a new dryer the next day. They were able to squeeze me in. The gentleman did a thorough job and provided information that was very helpful.

They did a good job. Price is seem high but they did a good work. They were prompt and remember to gave me a reminder. they were courteous and shown up in the 2 hours time window. They did a thorough job.

The tech told me the vent was plastic which is against code. He raggedly ripped out what he perceived as the dryer vent in the attic. It was not the dryer vent. It was a vent from bathroom fan. He haphazardly put duct tape around the bathroom vent he raggedly tore out. Then, he discovered where the dryer vent was located, and it was metal according to code. He cleaned out dryer vent which seemingly was well done. He quoted a $270 price to replace the plastic vent in the attic that went through the roof and clean vent. After discovering (in my presence) that the vent was metal, then the price went down to $240. I was peeved that he had made the mistake of tearing off the bathroom vent and misquoting the job. Then, he said he had a coupon he could apply so the price went down to $230. The tech, Chris, had an attitude soon after arrival, but he became very professional and nice when it came to payment time.

Prompt. Professional. Friendly. Upon arrival, he discussed the different options that would work within our home. He gave good advice. The install was very quick. Good cleanup. Our home is now safer. Our dryer immediately became more efficient, one cycle instead of two or three. Thank you. We will gladly recommend to others.
