Dryer Vent Wizard of Central Ohio

We had contracted with PuroClean to undertake a complex mold problem in a room in our basement. In the course of inspecting the adjoining furnace/storage room, which proved to be mold free, their excellent technician discovered that the dryer vent line running 26 feet along the rafters was severely rusted and probably caused by serious lint build-up over time. He advised that his company also owned Dryer Vent Wizard and recommended that we have them take a closer look at the problem. Since we had been extremely pleased with the work PuroClean was in the final stage of completing, we contacted Dryer Vent Wizard and they responded immediately. Their inspection revealed that almost the entire metal duct line was clogged and well beyond repair. We had failed to have the system thoroughly cleaned for many, many years and had unknowingly created a serious fire hazard. In addition, the dryer had been requiring several cycles to do its job, adding who knows how much to our monthly gas bill. Senior technician Anthony Coleman provided a detailed proposal, which was quite fair, and advised he could get it started right away by removing and disposing of the existing duct work. It was frightening to see that lint had built up along almost the entire length of the pipe to the point that virtually no hot air was able to escape to the exterior. The new system was expertly installed and the clogged dryer and line running from it to the basement duct were thoroughly cleaned. Anthony is a very experienced technician who takes pains to thoroughly clean up after the dirty work is completed. He completed a 10-point checklist which included inspecting the washer and hoses. In doing so, he suggested we might wish to consider replacing the rubber ones with the latest and safest metal ones, which we chose to do at an additional but reasonable cost. We figured that, since he had eliminated our fire hazard, it might be wise to also eliminate a potential flood problem! One final observation. The owner of PuroClean and Dryer Vent Wizard whose name is Rick Gutridge has earned the Angie's Service Award for both businesses. Our experience with both companies, which we've used for the first but not last time, suggests that he astutely hires and retains excellent people who know what they are doing and do it very well. He also goes the extra mile to comment on virtually every review either company receives. This is the mark of a good business owner who understands the importance of building and maintaining an excellent reputation and a very loyal customer base.

I had my furnace replaced and they put in a new dryer vent. I no longer need this deal.

Originally wanted them to come out and install a dryer vent I had purchased Frank arrived and told me the vent I purchaesd was inefficent and would cause a lot of issues. He gave me a couple of options of vents that he carried I chose the one with metal vent cover because I wanted a long term solution. Frank removed the old plastic cover that the builder had stuccoed over and installed the new one. He also gave me the Angies list special for cleaning my vent lines even though it had expired. He checked the vent lines going outside and found that it wasn't attached and attaced it at no charge. Very happy with the work and his professionalism

Frank arrived promptly at 8:30 am and immediately went to work. My dryer vent pipe was the original for my house built in 1977. It had recently started to vent into the basement. Also, there was a significant build up of lint in the piping causing my dryer to take longer to dry the clothes. Frank inspected the entire system and suggested that we replace part of the piping with an upgraded piping material. He also rerouted the pipe to provide a more direct route to the outside vent cover. In all, it took Frank about an hour to rework the pipe and clean the entire system. Frank was very professional throughout and I never felt that I was being pressured to buy more stuff or services from him. He laid out what needed to be done. Frank also did a great job cleaning up before he left. I definitely will be calling him back in the future.

Francis C. was amazing. He arrived on time, he explained everything he was going to do and was able to quote the prices (which were more than fair for the work to be done). Francis was able to fix the bird damage (birds had broken the exterior vent cover and made a huge bird nest) and even install a bird proof exterior vent cover. Francis was even able to show me how to clean my dryer vent to prevent future clogs in the actual dryer vent ducts. Francis explained that the air flow test was higher which would mean that the dryer will actually dry more efficiently, which in turn means less energy being used to dry clothes. I would recommend Francis C. from Dryer Vent Wizard to come to anyone's home to complete any work necessary.

The first time Dryer Vent Wizard came, they refused to do the work. Why? The vent material in use (see above) is undesirable, as it allows lint to collect, and it often collects at floor level, making air exchange difficult. It was a fire hazard. Also, the connection to the outside was fit into a single-pane window. Required: replace the window with glass block, with a special vent filling one of those squares. This was done in January, 2012. While things were all apart, I took the opportunity to cut off two feet excess fof the vinyl/wire vent, the dirty part, and vacuumed out what was left of the vent. You can see i was comfortable with this situation, as almost two years passed before Dryer Vent Wizard was called back. Now the window is a good insulator and the vent is solid, anchored to the wall, and has a solid connector to the outdoors. A very good home improvement.

He arrived on-time. Cleaned the vent and then installed a new dryer duct hose. Quick, easy and painless. Would recommend them and use them myself again.

We had the vent line installed by the same company in 2012 - service was very good. After two years we made an appointment for cleaning of the vent line. The service person (Chris) was on time, let me sign the proposal worksheet with 10 items to be performed, asked to see the vent line in the crawl space and started his work at the outside vent outlet. After 10 - 15 minutes his work was done, he pointed to the improved reading at the anemometer, asked for payment and left. From the the 10 items listed he did not perform the following: vent to machine inspection, full vent line inspection, joint tape hanger inspection, washing machine hose inspection, washing machine drain inspection and level washer and dryer. Based on the limited time spent, the items left out from the proposed worksheet and the amount ($190.00) charged I would not hire this company again.

They did a good job. I felt the price was a little high, but they did exactly what I asked them to do.

We thought he was very professional and courteous. He took his time to look at the dryer and the vent. He gave me good suggestions about how to keep them clean. I would have him back in my house anytime.

We were remodeling our laundry room so thought it would be a great time to get the laundry vent cleaned out since our laundry room was empty and it is very small. First appointment we had on July 19 was canceled by the Technician that day because it was raining and "wasn't safe to climb up ladder to second floor of house". Technician was able to come earlier on second date of service and was nice to call to ask if that would be okay. They arrived at the time they said they would, did the inspection, and started their work after approval. It had been 3 years since we had this service done so there was a lot of lint collected. It was a relief to know that it was cleaned out and wouldn't be a fire hazard. Seemed like technician was done in about an hour or so. We have used Dryer Vent Wizard before and will use them again.

It went well. They were problems with my vents I have two dryers and the vents got disconnected within the wall and they were able to fix it. I feel more comfortable knowing that it's been clean and safe. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. They were excellent!

It went fine. They were good and on time. Explained the process to me. They were clean and professional. There isn't really a way to tell if my ducts are cleaner than before the service was preformed.

Serviceman Francis was friendly, courteous, professional. Turned the dryer on and the top was extremely hot to the touch--an indication of needing vent cleaned. Explained work he would be doing. Explained the length of our vent system as being greater than 25', normally requiring a booster fan. Our system starts with 4" pipe but then increases to a 5" which accommodates for the greater length. He cleaned the vent system and as a result the top of the dryer felt only slightly warm and the force of the air through the vent doubled. No need to replace the dryer!

The technician, James Hammond, replaced the dryer vent, which was torn and in disrepair. He did an excellent job and was very professional. He arrived promptly, replaced the vent, inspected the air pressure, and put a cover over the opening where the dryer air discharges outside of the house. I will definitely use their services again.

The service provider arrived on time. Explained that the hose to the dryer could be a fire hazard (was old and flimsy). Changed the hose (which accounted for the additional cost), cleaned the dryer vent, cleaned the dryer itself (not expecting that), provided a brush to clean the dryer in the future, inspected the dryer vent piping and determined that it was up to code (did not try to sell us anything that wasn't necessary). All in all, did a great job!

He was on time and very friendly. He did an excellent job. We will use him again. It was a safety issue for us, and I am glad it is taken care of.
