Custom Air Conditioning & Heating

Furnace was not running right - not heating overnight. Custom Air came within just a few hours of my call. They spent more than an hour looking for cause of an intermittent problem which did not cooperate by showing up while they were here. Several checks were performed on the furnace which made the service call well worthwhile for me. It has run just fine since.

They were on time and finished in one day

two nice fellows arrived and replaced the humidifier in a few hours then cleaned up when done and took the old humidifer away. The sales man was plesant but he forgot to call back with the date for the work We finally called the company and soon were on their schedule. Yes we would use them again.

Because this was the first visit for the company, the technician did a thorough inspection, and prepared the system for the heating season. I was very pleased that he was not trying to sell me a bunch of unneeded equipment or services which was the very reason I parted ways with Columbus Worthington Air, the previous service provider.

I have them come out for several years. They do a really great job and the service guy is very friendly. They have someone out the same day when I've had problems and I even called them one weekend and they were very responsive.

Excellent. Dave, the sales rep first visited a year or so ago. We got sidetracked and I re-contacted him several weeks ago. This time ,I had met with several companies for estimates and opinions. Based on this additional learning experience, I had Dave price out a different configuration. His price was considerably better than the competition and since the reviews for Custom Air were good,we went with them. The installation went very well. The crew arrived on time at 8:30am , worked hard the entire time and left with everything operating at about 5:30pm. They covered all walk areas ,took care while moving parts in and out and cleaned up before leaving. Hardly knew they were there. They took time to answer our questions as they arose during the day and took some extra time going over the new thermostat settings. All in all, it was a great experience, from first sales call to installation. Price was exactly as quoted and financing was excellent. All credits and rebate paperwork will be handled by them ,so that project is happily removed from me.

Igniter on gas furnace had failed. Called to schedule appointment and was scheduled for the next day. Later the same day I recieved a call requesting if they could come out that afternoon due to work getting completed earlier than expected. Met the service person and had work completed. Signed a service contract because the service call and replacement part would have been more expensive than the service contract. With the service contract I also received an air conditioner maintenance. I wasw very please with the service.

Some back story. My house was built in 1980 and still has the same HVAC equipment that was installed then. So it is old, but still working. This is the first problem that I have had since I purchased it in April 2011. The technician arrived on time and got right to work. I explained that the blower would not turn on. The technician identified the issue after a bit of troubleshooting. Sometime during the troubleshooting, he had to call another technician due to the age of the furnace. He remarked how the furnace needs to be serviced. The technician was able to rewire the blower so that it is now always on. This is okay for two reasons: 1, I can control it by the breaker panel, and 2, I would rather have the blower running all the time as opposed to not running at all. He also ordered a replacement part so that it would be fixed. When testing the Air Conditioner refused to start. The technician started to troubleshoot this issue. He was able to fix this also, but had to replace another part. So now my air conditioner works, but only if I manually turn on the blower and let it run. I'm not particularly ecstatic about having to repair the AC as it was turning on before the technician arrived. And now they're calling to schedule the repair of the blower. There is a reasonable chance that I'll not fix the blower as I may just replace the entire system. So yeah, I would use Custom again,. I think they're a good company and the technician's were knowledgeable and pleasant, I just think this one didn't go as well as it could have.

Great experience. Came within an hour of the first phone call, had all necessary equipment to perform the repair, price was competitive.

I was not present for the service. However, I heard the technician caught a dangerous situation and corrected it for us.

Scott from Custom Air was great. we wanted to get an estimate from Custom Air since they take care of the systems where we work. Scott asked questions about upgrades that we had made and any possible furture plans. He took a lot of measurements and surveyed our current equipment. He informed us of new requirements and gave us several options for us to decide from. The estimates were all in the same ballpark as the others that we have recieved so now it is just a matter of deciding who to go with. We have narrowed it down to two with Custom Air being one of them.

We had an appointment for 3pm but I was held up at work. Sales rep waited for 30 minutes for me to arrive (thanks so much!!). He was very knowledgeable and gave me several tips on running my current (20 year old) system. He gave me quotes on 3 systems that would work for my home.

We called after hours due to our furnance not working. They came quickly and fixed the problem for the time being. We also asked for a price on a new unit and after a few phone calls as reminders, we did get an estimate. I wrote back with some more questions regarding the install and equipment and options and I have never heard back from them again. I was initially impressed with their responsiviness to the call, but since I am not impressed with their follow up.

Pricing was way out of line

Went very well, very impressed with quality of work. Took longer than expected due to the grant of sheet metal work.

The folks at Custom Air are always helpful and dependable with their service. We purchased this property in August and wanted to be sure the furnaces were safe and ready for winter. Jimmy performed a detail check and we had to spend money on repairs but knew the units would be in working order for the winter.

They removed the old unit and installed a new one.

The company was on time to start the service. He seemed thorough on the maintenace and took the time to point out issues to watch for in the future.

Blower motor turning off and on, without the burner firing on an intermittent basis. On 11/10 I called and had service visit on 11/12. They called 30 minutes in advance and showed up on time. Technician checked the furnace and cleaned the flame sensor. I bought the service contract of heating and air servicing. That made the visit that day only a service call with no additional charges ($175). I noticed the next day that the problem continued. But before I noticed it, I was called that day by Custom Air as a customer service check. I said it was not fixed and was transferred to the service manager Randy. He apologized for the inconvenience and said if it continues to call them back. I called 11/21 and requested a service call. They said I could have someone there later that afternoon. Again I was called 30 out and the tech showed on time. Knowing what was accomplished the last visit, the technician troubleshot the system for about 15 minutes and found that the control board was bad. He had one on his truck and completed the repair in less than 30 minutes. Due to having the service contract, the only charge was for parts, $463 for the board. I'm very happy with the work. The service contract saved me money. The technicians Baron and Howard were professional and courteous. The complexities of the high efficiency furnace made the repair more difficult to troubleshoot. However Custom Air was prompt and fixed it as soon as possible. I'm very happy with the outcome.

The experience was fine. The salesman was prompt, on time, and knowledgeable about his products. He gave the best price. He even responded to my questions on a Saturday. I would absolutely recommend their services.

I have waited to write this review because I was very unhappy that I had to have this repair done on a new air conditioner. I like Custom Air and have been happy with all of the services they have performed for us but I do not think a brand new two year old coil should leak or that I should have to pay for the labor to replace a faulty coil. I guess there is Something that can stop a TRANE!!!! I would still use Custom Air but I was not a happy customer.

The technician was very friendly and personable. Also extremely knowledgeable and honest. He recommended getting a condensation pump to run condensation from the unit through the ceiling rather than having it run through the piping along the floor like it is now, this solves a huge dilemma we've had with our basement! Along with the recommendation for the pump, he explained to me how simple it could be to install on my own. He asked about the air flow to our second floor and showed me how to get more cold air to run there. It was a great experience overall and will not hesitate to contact Custom Air for any future central air/furnace needs!

I was happy that my call was answered by a person who could schedule and not a call service as I experienced with another company. The person who answered the phone was very professional and courteous and provided an estimate for when a technician would be available, keep in mind this was in late spring when temperatures were steadily creeping up. The technician called before coming which allowed me to go to work and then meet him at the designated time. He was prompt and professional. He spent some time diagnosing the thermostat and gave me an overview of the different options to remedy the situation. He did not have the specific model on the truck as it had to be ordered but he installed a temporary one that allowed me to use my AC. Because of the large number of calls the replacement of the thermostat was scheduled for two weeks out which was fine since he had installed the temporary one. While the cost was more than I would have liked, I did upgrade to a programmable thermostat that is now connected to electricity and not battery operated. Overall, I am very satisfied with Custom Air and the service that was provided.
