One of the cables to our garage door broke on Saturday night. Since we were able to get our cars out of the garage we did not need emergency service. Called Monday morning, was given a window of 9-12 for service the following morning. Someone came out Tuesday at 10:00 am (called me when he was on his way). Within an hour my garage door was fixed. Very knowledgeable and nice service man replaced 2 cables, lubricated the drive and balanced the door. Gave me suggestions on maintaining cables and door in the future. Excellent experience. Would highly recommend. I also used a $25.00 coupon toward repair that Graf & Sons offered through Angie's List

Our garage doors had been operating erractically over the past couple of weeks. Called Graf for service, and they were able to schedule the next day. Service person adjusetd spring tension, lubricated, checked opener operation, and put the doors into good operation.

I called right after the New Year, they sent someone out within a few days. I was afraid that major work was needed on one of the garage doors but the person listened to me description fo the problem, and showed me the adjustment that was needed which turne dout not be a big job. He also checked the other doors and provided general servicing for them as well. He was prompt, efficient and he did what was needed but did not try to upsell me on anything. A very good experience!

Was extremely pleased that he repaired the door without replacing the door. Any other company could have easily sold us a new door or panel but he literally re-hinged one panel and fixed several pins all for $78.00. I couldn't have been more happy!!

He has a very good reputation and was recommended by a friend. I was pleased with their work. Everything was very professional. He even measured doors and no one else had done that. He answered calls promptly.

I called Graf & Sons Tuesday night after the spring broke and alerted them that I did not need an emergency service call which they do have, but the next day was preferred. Promptly at 8:04 AM I received a call and estimate to replace the spring which had broken. I asked the repairman or service tech if I could get it scheduled for 4 PM that day. He said he could not that it was too late. I countered with 3 PM. He said that was also too late. I once again countered with 2 PM noting that I had a 1 PM meeting I had to attend but should be able to get home in time for that. The tech noted that 2 PM would work. After my meeting, I rushed home to meet the repairman. Arriving at 2 PM, I patiently waited until 2:45 PM before I called their office. The office said he was running a little late but he would be there, "It may be 4 or 5, but he will be there." 3 PM came and went as did 4 PM. Now normally this would not be an issue, but with one car stuck in the garage, I had to drive my wife to work as well as drop off the kid at Daycare. So 5 PM is approaching and the wife is stuck 20 minutes away at work with no vehicle and I am stuck waiting on the repairman. At 4:45 he finally arrived. Luckily my wife was able to comandeer a ride from a co-worker and get home in time to still go pick up the baby. Make sure you have the repairman call when he is on the way.

The springs on our garage door had given out and this company came out to repair it in the middle of the night. That service was one of the main reasons why we chose this company. They gave us quick service and got out garage door working right away. We will use them again in the future.

They were very nice, prompt, professional and friendly. I was fine with them. My husband thought that the price was a lot but I don?t know if it was worth it or not. We didn?t compare prices. We were stuck without a door working, and so I thought that the price seemed moderate. They were very quick, which was important because of the situation we were in. The quality of the work seemed fine.

The salesman was very professional and knowledgeable. He brought me samples, and so I knew exactly what I was getting. I am very pleased with the results and I would rate them highly.

The garage door opener was not functioning. It would make a humming noise but would not engage the door. Door has had numerous problems over the years. It would go up a few inches or feet and then start going back down. At times it would take 5 minutes to get the door to go down and stay down. The door is also extremely loud. I called Graf & Sons, Inc. on 7/28/09 and spoke with Amathene. She was very polite and professional and let me know over the phone what the problem might be and what it would cost if that was the problem. Dave Finkes came out the next day. He was great. Very nice, professional and great at explaining everything he was doing. Not only was my garage door opener fixed in 45 minutes, but the door was quieter than it has ever been. It runs smoothly and actually goes up and down with one push of the button. I am extremely happy with Graf & Sons, Inc. I would recommend them to my friends and will definitely use them again if I have problems with my garage door.

They are amazing and we absolutely love them. They come out quickly and fix things. The price charged by them is reasonable. They are knowledgeable and are very good. We have used their services about 4 times now and we have been incredibly pleased with them.

It went great! Repairman arrived on time and was very friendly. He fixed the door and answered all of my questions. I also asked him about other services and he provided me with the information that I needed. I was very pleased with the service I received.

Great experience. Will use them again. While backing out, we bumped one side of the track for the garage door. As a result, the track was bent and twisted, and the garage door wouldn't close. After reading reviews, I called Graf & Sons. They came out the next day, arriving within the specified timeframe. The tech was very professional and I could tell he knew what he was doing. He inspected the bent door track and decided to bend it back vs. replacing it with a $40 part. The spring tension on the door was also low (unrelated), so I asked if he could adjust that as well. The work was completed in a timely manner (an hour or so). Once completed, he walked me through an inspection of both items to make sure I was happy. With the Angie's List coupon, I think I came out at a pretty good price. I would *definitely* use Graf & Sons again.

Went well. Called one day, he came within the same week. Viewed our system and recommended not a new one, but that he could fix what we have. Did a great job, fast and reliable.

Heard what sounded like a loud explosion come from the garage about 8:00 p.m.. Went to check and discovered the door spring had snapped. Since the door could not be opened and we would not be able to get our cars out to go to work, we called Graf and Sons to find out about emergency service. Feeling the price was fair for an emergency call late at night, we asked them to do the work. The repair person was there within an hour and fixed the spring.

Arrived as scheduled, did the replacement, checked the opener operation and cleaned up.

Their price was comparable to the company I ended up using, and I only went with the other company because the other company was able to do the work sooner. I am confident they would have done a good job as well.

One of the two garage door springs broke at night with both cars "trapped" in the garage. Our effort to manually lift the door failed. We called Graf and Sons that same night based on other Angie's List reports. A message service quickly recorded our name, address, and phone number, and said someone from Graf and Sons would call us in the morning. Early the next morning, we did receive the promised phone call and were told a repairman would be at our house late morning, early afternoon. He arrived at 1:30. The door was in bad shape because we had tried to lift it ourselves. It was bent and crooked in the track. It took 30 minutes just to manually and safely lift the door. Then both springs and part of the lift motor were replaced. Finally, the whole door mechanism was adjusted. The job took about 90 minutes. All went exactly as other Angie?s List members said and as promised by the message operator and Graf and Sons? office people.

No further problems with the door closing. Door moves up and down much more smoothly. Replacing cables probably will helped us avoid needing an entirely new garage door down the road.

We arrived home last night and our garage door wouldn't open. My husband went in to check it out and found out the spring broke. We found Graf & Sons on Angie's List and decided to use them. My husband called at 10pm and got the service and left a message about the issue. I received a call at 8am the next morning. I explained the situation and they said that someone would be out between 12-4 that day. They actually showed up at 11:50! I was expecting around 4 so this was a great surprise since my car was trapped in the garage. He worked for about 30 - 45 minutes and now our garage door works again.

On first visit worked well initially but after a few days the problem started happening again. Came back (at no charge) and this time offered a more thorough explanation--the problem was mainly due to the cold temperatures--and also sprayed WD-40 to loosen up oil and adjusted force again (still set too low). We have not had the problem since, but if we do, it will probably be only because of the cold. If this had been mentioned on the first visit, I might not have needed to call again, although it does seem to be working perfectly now. With respect to the price and customer service, I am very impressed with this company. My husband paid by check on first visit, without realizing that we had an Angie's List coupon. I called and they agreed to respect the discount and wait for a new check. There was no charge for the second visit. Despite needing to call a second time, then, this was a very positive experience.

I called Graf and Sons and they were very quick to help. They sent someone out to check out the situation and it was found that it needed repair to several parts. Due to the age of the unit we opted to replace it with a new one. The repairman arrived at 7:30 am on THE coldest day this year with temps in the negative numbers. I was surprised and delighted that he actually came out on such a bitter morning. I was worried about how cold it would be for him...but he had obviously done this before as he came with a portable heater. He worked fast and efficiently and did a great job of installing the unit. He checked it, cleaned up after himself and was done just like that. He obviously knew what he was doing and was very professional, personable even on such a terribly cold morning and laughed and chatted as he worked. I had some difficulties with my warranty company due to some strict guidelines they have and Graf and Sons was very willing to help me work it out. They called them to clarify some things and even though I am sure it was more complicated than they expected, they were very cheerful and sweet about the issue.

They were very prompt, respectful, and their price matched what they said it would be. Everything went great, no problems at all.

I would recommend them in the future.

Impressive and trustworthy! The problem: I was unable to open or close my garage door without forcing it up and then back down manually. The response: Prior to arrival the service technician expected that he would have to replace the springs on my door, likely at a significant cost. Upon arrival he was able to immediately diagnose that the door simply needed to be properly lubricated, as I had not done this in 8 years. After 5 minutes of lubrication the door worked perfectly. He further went on to review all remaining components of the system, including the motor / opener, chain, etc. Through his work he noticed that the "gears" in the motor were beginning to wear out and that it would likely need replaced in the next year or two. He did not pressure me into installing a new unit that day, but did politely offer that they would be happy to help if called upon again. I was very impressed with his attention to detail, his customer focus and recognition that cost is an important factor to winning my business long term. I would definitely use this company again!
