Upon arrival, the technician identified the problem by simply looking at the new package which identified the button as "lighted". Older units do not like this feature. He found a servicable button in his tool kit and also provided a new wall plate (original got destroyed when trying to drill new holes). Then proceeded to tune up the springs and lubricate the tracks, an unexpected bonus for me. When the unit finally dies I will definitely go directly to this company.

The spring of our overhead door broke on a weekend and made the garage door impossible to open. We called Graf on a Saturday afternoon and they gave us the option of an emergency call (at a premium) or scheduling a service man for the next business day. We opted for the next available regular appointment. By 8:30 Monday morning, I got a call from the service man letting me know he was on his way. He assessed the situation and went about his business in a very professional manner. Despite record heat, he finished replacing two springs, balancing the door, lubricating the tracks and adjusting the opener in less than an hour. The service could not have been completed more efficiently. I imagine you could find a company that charges less, but you would probably get a lot less. Having an operator available at all hours to handle emergencies and schedule work is terrific peace of mind. Following up with competent and prompt service is meeting the highest standard of care. I would hire them again even if they didn't give a discount to Angie's List members.

We had a broken tension spring for the garage door. Called Monday morning at 8 am and they were out to the house by noon -- nice quick response. They were very professional. We have used them before and will do so again. They were reasonably priced. I don't feel like I have to get a second quote with them.

Cable on double garage door broke in morning and door jammed. The technician was at the house by 10:30 AM and the door was repaired by 12 PM. Had the cables on a second door replaced at the same time since they were rusted in the same location. The response and professionalism of the company and Bert the technician were first rate!

They came out same day - 3 hours after I placed my call. They replaced my optical sensors (I already had these parts in the box from garage door opener bought 2 years ago). Was told it would be $98 for the service call and first 30 min of labor, not including the Angie's List coupon (which ended up taking $25 off the regular price). He worked for exactly 30 minutes. He came out, identified the problem immediately, asked if I had the parts, and replaced the old ones with the new ones. The door goes up and down perfectly again.

Went to Graf and Sons to view garage door styles and made an appointment for a representative to come to our house to measure for a new garage. The representative arrived on time and brought color samples of the products we were interested in purchasing. Ordered the door at that time and and since the door was in stock installation could take place in a few days. The installers were very timely in their arrival and did a fantastic job of installing the new garage door.

I always think they are kind of pricey, but the service provided by them in July was good. They are usually prompt and punctual. They are sort of strange when it comes to their professionalism. They come out, sort of do something and then they are gone again. The guy who was here in July was not the most professional service person I have ever had, but there was nothing wrong. I spent about $300 for repairing the garage door. They fixed the spring, but it let lose. So, they had to re-hookup things. It was seriously bad. It wasn?t an easy job and the guy had to push it up. It was not fun. However, they were really nice to me in November. I told them which one I had. They got it for me because it is an older model since this condo is like 12 years old. They ordered the garage door opener for me, put it in the box and sent it to me. He asked me to call him if I had a problem. He told me that he would talk me through it if I had trouble while setting it up the first time like while putting in the code and everything. He said that I would be able to figure out the instructions, but it would save me a service call. That was very impressive. So, I talked to him one Friday. He then put it in a box and sent it to me. I had given him my information because they had been out to my house a couple of times in the last few years. They just took the information over the phone. They ordered it and sent it to me. They were great. They sent me a new garage door opener and there were no problems. I got online just to see if I could order one and you have to order it through somebody who is a distributor. You can?t order them directly. So, I called them and they charged me what the price was online. It was probably $35 and it wasn?t expensive because it was an older model. It was very nice. They were nice about that and very helpful.

The service man arrived and was very nice and helpful. Was able to get the door open within minutes and the cars out. He had only brought 1 spring (usually does commericla jobs) and my door was a double-wide door (which requires 2 springs). He quoted me $180 for replacing the spring. He also said if we wanted to replace the other spring, they would give us a discounted one for only $75. After discussing with them, I decided to go ahead and replace both and was very impressed with the speed & quality of service. The service person Mel also went over how the springs works in conjunction with the opener and other "what to do if" type situations.

He did a great job and did some extra work for no charge to make sure my garage door worked perfectly. He also lubricated all tracts. He was very personable and I would use them again.

When you call the company repair team, they are always so friendly and are able to quickly diffuse my worry and concerns.

I discovered the broken spring (when the door would not open) and immediately called Graf & Son because I have had good experiences working with them in the past. They told me how I could get the door open, what time they would be at my house and how much it would cost. Everything they told me was true! They also gave me some advice about whether I needed to replace both springs (not mandatory but recommended). Ron, who did the replacement, was a very nice guy and provided helpful advice about the health of my garage door and some opportunities for improvements. This was as good an experience as a broken garage door could be.

Called Graf & Sons on Monday to get an estimate of a garage door opener replace. I spoke with Dean who are very nice and knowledgeable and he quoted me a price and also a date that they can do the install. About an hour later I called back to make an appointment for the installation. However Dean wasn't available so I spoke with another person who names also began with D (forgot the name). This person was rude and had zero professionalism. When I first told him the price Dean quoted me he started flipping out, saying "Dean needs to get his pricing right" and some other stuff. To me that is very unprofessional, if you have an issue with your co-worker you talk to them and not say things about it to the customers. Then I told him I have the $25 off coupon from Angie's list he flipped again. He then said he is doing "me" a favor and honoring the price and that he shouldn't do that because the price is $60 off there normal price. More importantly I am the one who is doing "him" a favor by using their company. At this point I am thinking that this guy is full of it, because the other places I called is actually cheaper for the a opener unit with the same features. However I decided to go with them and pay a little more because Dean said he can get someone out to my place the next day. When I mention that to him that I need it tomorrow he again said things he shouldn't have. Needless to say my whole experience with G&S was ruin by this encounter with this one bad employee. This man should never speak to a customer. The installer on the other hand was great. She was friendly, helpful and install the opener in a timely manner. She made everything nice and neat, and cleaned everything up. Maybe this guy can learn a thing or two from the installer.

The salesman came out on 9/22 and we ordered the openers. No contract or anything, just a hand shake. On 9/29 the installer arrived. He took down the old openers and installed 2 Lift Master 3850 openers with EverCharge Standby Power. Cleaned up and hauled away the old openers. It went great and I will use them again.

I purchased three garage doors for my house from Graf & Sons - the salesperson ordered the wrong ones and refused to acknowledge any responsibility. He then said they would keep the doors to sell on consignment and would refund me 50% when they sold (they are standard size doors). I then ordered three replacement doors. It's been over a year now, and Graf has clearly made no effort to sell the doors. I spent $7000 with Graf and regret every penny. Would not recommend them to anyone, terrible customer service.

Excellent. This was a Saturday and a Holiday (Labor Day) weekend. Called Graf & Sons at 9:30 AM and they quoted the "on call" price of $225 just for the service call (exclusive of parts) and someone called us back within 30 minutes and was here within an hour of calling us. The customer servcie person, Jeremy was on time, extremely nice, fixed the door within minutes, and gave us some maintenance tips. I used the Angie's List $25 off coupon for a total price of $200.

The sales person, the installer, and the quality of the door and garage door opener are high. We were very upset with the Manager that schedules the installation. If you are getting both a garage door and open, and they call you to schedule, make sure you are getting both done on the same day. When they called us, they failed to tell us that they were only going to install the door. It wasn't until the installer called me that I was informed. When I talked to the manager, he had no plan. I had to tell the manager when he was going to install both. When the second installer came, he did an excellant job. The installer, who came on the rescheduled date, really helps keep Graf & Sons in business.

My door went up and stayed up it would not close and electric was OK.I called Graf and Son and they helped me trouble shoot it over the phone , thinking it may be somrthing minor. It still didnt work so they asked if needeD a service technician right away. I said no, the next available tech would be fine and scheduled him for the next day. He arrived on time and diagnosed it right away and had it fixed in 15 minutes. I also had him replace the bottom rubber door moulding and he did a fine job witha quality replacement.I am very happy and would recommend them to anyone.

They came out the same day that I called. Great company.

Tech arrived ontime and got right to work replacing the old wireless keypad. Although replacement was not wireless, he did a neat job of hiding the wire on the new one so it would not be in the way. He walked me through how to set the code and went out of his way to NOT watch me enter our code, which I appreciated (usually I have to put a code in with the tech watching and then change it after they leave). He also did routine matintenace on both doors and replaced a bent pulley what would have caused more issues down the road.

The overall project was very nice from Walt the sales person to Wayne the installer. Walt actually followed me back to my home for his estimate and e-mailed me the paperwork the next day. After reviewing bids, they provided the best value. Wayne was an excellent installer and was very good about cleaning up the job site when work was complete. He was also very thorough in explaining the required maintenance the door will require. That was never been explained to me, not even by the previous door's installer. The price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Overall it went great. The installer (Bert I believe) was very experienced. He had the old system down and the new one up and fully functional in less than two hours. He also insisted on programming the built-in opener in my 2005 Dodge Caravan to work with the new LiftMaster garage door opener, which we appreciated. This system also has a built-in battery back up, so if the power goes out, the door still opens and closes. The new LiftMaster is much quieter than our previous model. We are real pleased with the new system, and the service provided by Graf & Sons.
