Guys arrived on time. They examined the door and mechanism and concluded it was the mother board. Since the opener was 15+ years old, the recommendation was made to replace the opener. They replaced a hinge on the door while,here. I will call them back to install the new opener.

I went to leave my house and found that I couldn't get my automatic garage door to go up. It would raise up @ an inch, but no further. (That meant that my car was trapped inside my garage.) Thinking that there might be a jam or problem between the panels causing the resistance, I used my rubber mallet, but it didn't solve the problem. I called the company @ 8:30 AM and they were able to put me on their schedule for that day. ( I had used them before and had purchased the garage door opener from them.) They also put me in touch with one of their technicians to see if they could trouble-shoot the problem over the phone. Judging from the description that I had given them, they thought that maybe the problem might be that one of the springs in my door might be broken. The technician called ahead (as I had requested) and arrived very close to the scheduled appointment time. He tried the door opener and looked at the door's springs and immediately said that the problem was not a broken spring. He noticed that the resistance seemed to be at the top of the door on one side. He concluded that the door was frozen at the top and went to work to get the door loose from the garage frame. Once he got the garage door up we went outside to look at the door frame, which is covered in vinyl. We could see frozen droplets of water all along the surface. Also, there was a lot of heavy frost on all the inside of the all garage windows. It only took the technician @ 10 minutes to discover and fix the problem, but he spent another 15 minutes removing the frozen water droplets, checking the tension on the door, and lubricating the metal connections in the door panels. I really appreciate his spending the extra time to make the service call more worthwhile for me. The cost of the service call, $98, includes the 1st half hour of the call. Although I wouldn't have needed the service call if I had been able to determine that it the door that was frozen rather thinking that it was a problem with door-opening mechanism, I view the experience as a learning experience for me. If it ever happens again, I will know to check on the outside of the door to see if it is frozen.

My garage door which was a cheaper builder grade door broke during a cold spell as well as did many others in the Columbus area. Graf & Son was extremely busy with rush of business due to the cold spell however they were accommodating and I received my quote promptly. After receiving a professional fair quote the instal was set-up for the day after Thanksgiving to replace my broken unsafe door. The instal was top notch, door operation is smooth and I am very pleased with the overall quality of the door. Come to find out that I was the only install for day after Thanksgiving and if they did not work me in it could have been weeks before they had an open slot. It is nice to see a company go out of their way to provide great service.

The service call was fine. The serviceman explained how to maintain the garage door. He also very informative about my type of garage door and door opener. I was very happy with the service. .

They assessed the problem and fixed it so that for the first time in years we could open the door!

Technician came the day after we called and did the repair in a timely fashion.

Found provider in the deals for garage doors as mine is in need of repair. The deal is $145 for a tune up & replacement of 1 spring; I have a broken spring. The price seems really good for including a tune-up as well. I had other estimates of $150 - $200 for the repair alone. Most other companies offer tune-ups only ranging from $50 - 200. I called & they scheduled to come out right away (within 2 days of my call) & may even come yet this afternoon if their workload permits. They were easy to reach, very helpful on the phone & offer very promp service. So excited to get my garage door fixed!

They replaced the switch, checked the garage door for other issues, and even replaced our burned out light bulbs. Very fast to finish the job and arrived on time. I have used them in the past and will continue to use them as the need arises.

overall, it was quickly and efficiently completed. They men were very respectful and nice.

Awesome company; used Graf based on Angie's List reviews and they were everything as stated. Called late on a Wednesday afternoon when the garage door spring snapped, rendering the door unusable. Good customer service during the initial call. They squeezed in the appointment before the weekend! The repairman was out Friday morning, promptly repaired the spring, made all the adjustments, cleaned up nicely and went on his way in 45 minutes. Professional workman - clearly knew what he was doing. Great company, very fair price, solid customer service, will absolutely use them again and would recommend to anyone.

Called on Friday for a Wednesday service call. The garage door was not able to go up at all because of a broken cable bracket. They arrived on Wednesday and replaced the cable bracket and adjusted the torsion bar for proper load balancing. They also oiled and checked all of the rollers. Unfortunately that evening when we tried to use the garage door, the cable came off the track and the door again would not go up or down. We called late that night and left a message with their answering service. They called back promptly the next day for information. They came back out and fixed the problem. It has been working fine since.

We purchased this company's $200 angies list ad for replacing 2 springs and garage door tune up. The experience was great! They answered the phone promptly (actually a real person who could help), schedule me for the next day, and arrived promptly. Installer was professional and courteous and did a nice job. I recommend this company as their Angie's List rating is an accurate reflection of what you'll get.

We needed to replace two wooden garage doors that were more than 25 years old. I contacted several companies and requested price estimates. Graf & Sons (Walt) arrived promptly at the time scheduled to provide a free on-site inspection and price quote. Walt answered all of my questions and explained various options. Once I compared proposals from all companies, it became apparent that Graf & Sons were offering the "highest quality" garage doors / openers at less cost than their competitors had quoted for "lesser quality" doors / openers. I also used a coupon on Angie's list to save an additional $100. Walt placed the order and scheduled the installation with me. The Graf & Sons installer (Jeff) called the day before to confirm his appointment. Jeff arrived on time, removed our old garage doors / openers and installed the new garage doors / openers. Jeff programmed the garage door openers and provided us user friendly training for operating the garage door openers. Jeff left our garage cleaner than it was when he arrived six hours earlier. About 3 months later, I advised Graf & Sons that one of the garage doors may need adjusted. A technician responded the next day to adjust the door. The technician took the time to show me how to adjust the doors by using the "smart" operator function. I was amazed that the openers automatically make adjustments depending on the temperature! Best of all, this service call was at no cost to us! We found Graf & Sons to be true professionals that provide great customer service before, during and after the sale. I highly recommend Graf & Sons Garage Doors.

This company was really great. They had a special for $200.00 that included installing two garage door springs. The people on the phone were professional and adapted to a change in my schedule very well. The installer was a great guy who had been doing this for some years and was very experienced. They were in and out in about an 1.5 hours. The overall experience and price was fantastic.

Graf of course has a longstanding reputation for quality, although we had never had to replace a garage door before. They are highly ranked on Angie's List, and they were also recommended highly by another service provider we use. We made an appt for them to visit the site and make an estimate. The scheduler was very pleasant and professional. The salesperson was very experienced and professional. Took all the time we needed to discuss various types of doors (and, it turns out, there are a lot of choices). Presented an estimate; and we gave a deposit for one-half of the total. Installation began perfectly on schedule: right day; right time. Like the salesperson, the installer told me he'd been do this kind of work for 17 years. He explained what he was going to do and how. We turned him loose; and, with a later assist from another guy, he was done before we knew it. The door itself looks outstanding; and the experience was excellent from the first phone call through clean up.

I wrote to them via Angie's List on Wednesday. I had a phone call by day's end, and they came Friday morning and did the work quickly and efficiently . Very very happy with them.

The garage door spring broke on a Saturday night. We called Monday morning and they had a repair man come on Tuesday morning. The repair man replaced both springs with a higher grade to last longer. He was very professional and friendly. He arrived a little early on a morning appointment, which was great - it allowed me to get to work sooner than expected. Soon after, we started having intermittent trouble with the door opening and closing properly and after about a week we called Graf again. They sent the same repairman out who found the electronic eye was out of alignment. This time he was about 15 minutes behind on an afternoon appointment window. No charge for the follow up call. From setting up the appointment with the front office through finished appointment, our experience with Graf was very good and we would use them again.

Our garage door opener stopped working on Sunday. We called them on Monday morning and Ron arrived by 11:15am. He checked things out, explained the possible causes and our options for repair vs. replacement. We went with replacement and he had the new operator installed in a little over an hour. He was very friendly, informative and professional. We are happy with the prompt service and our new garage door opener.

Prompt, courteous, attention from estimate through installation. The salesman quickly confirmed the dire warnings about the current state of our garage door and and recommended replacement over repair as being more cost effective. Without high pressure, he simply asked if the type of door we currently had worked for us, and then presented a comparable style but better quality. He was throrough in his explanation of the door's attributes. Due to a schedule opening, we were able to have our door installed the day after acceptance. The installer arrived on time (from the Dayton area!), and was friendly and personable. He was easy to talk to, giving maintenance tips as he diligently completed his task. He took pride in his work and was very professional. Upon completion, the garage was immaculate. The time from estimate to installation was less that 48 hours.
