Chris gave us an estimate and we hired him that day. His crew began working the next day and for several full days after that. The crew came promptly in the mornings and worked hard all day - lots of work needed to be done. Chris and all the members of his crew were friendly, polite and professional and hardworking. We are very happy with their work and would definitely recommend them to anyone. The finished project is everything we would have wanted.

I highly recommend Chris Ruh Concrete! He did a new driveway/porch/sidewalk for me. He was very fair. He noticed some additional work needed done (sidewalk and front porch) AFTER he had already given me a quote on the driveway, so he didn't charge me for the sidewalk and porch! I remember him saying "fair is fair". The driveway looks great, and he is VERY easy to work with!

Chris's team did a great job, they had a cancellation and got to us two days after talking with him on the phone. They were here promptly in the morning and finished the work that day, cleaned up their equipment, and gave me some advice on the upkeep and such.

Prompt, kept me informed about schedule and work, which was done with quality and on time. Chris is very personable and explains all of the job elements clearly. Chris was frequently on-site and always available for any questions that I had. Highly recommended.

Part of my sidewalk was cracked and falling apart. Chris was wonderful to work with. He was prompt with responding to my calls and the price was reasonable. They ended up removing the section of damaged sidewalk and poured a new section. Sidewalk looks wonderful. Chris even stopped by the day after to see how the sidewalk looked and told me when the forms and tape would be removed. It was obvious Chris has been in this business a while and definitely knows what he's doing. He will be at the top of my list if I need an additional cement work done in the future.

Very Professional, and Prompt response

The experience went much better than expected. Chris was so easy to work with and had some ideas to make the project look even better than I had thought of.

We were in a unique situation: selling our house and the buyers requested a new driveway to close the deal. We were in a huge time crunch to get estimates to determine how much money to credit the new owners to complete the project themselves. I left a message in the office and Chris called me right back and was able to come out within an hour to assess our situation and gave an estimate right on the spot. He was professional and very easy to work with! He also followed up with me about a week later to make sure he wasn't neglecting us. It's up to the new owners to choose which contractor to go with, but I hope they choose Chris!

Once we were able to get Chris to come out (it took three phone calls), the work went very smoothly. He gave us an estimate on Thursday and had a crew here on Friday morning to do the work. They were very professional and polite and did a great job. Would certainly recommend them.

I called for an estimate. The estimate was completed the same day. I had some questions about the estimate which Chris answered. Chris said they could start the job in 2 days. Then he called me back & said they would be out the next day. After removing the old driveway they noticed that the stone walk to the deck was in disrepair & would actually be higher than the new driveway. Chris offered to remove the walk & set the stones correctly. When I got home I was amazed at how great the new driveway & walk looked. I highly recommend Chris Ruh Cement. They completed the job in one day( except for sealing the concrete) & cleaned up after themselves. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

It went really well. We were really impressed with the work. I would refer him to anyone. He came back and did touch ups.

Chris was very prompt with coming to give a quote for the job on the initial contact. His quote was around the median of the several we collected but he had the best attitude of all contractors we talked to. He was insistent he could do any of the things we asked for and adjusted the plans and quote for any request we had. The communication broke down between the quote and the job slightly requiring us to make several phone calls to the company to follow up with when they would do the job. The timing was quite ambiguous on when they would be coming to do the job, but we were flexible with our needs so it didn't bother us. When he did come to do the job, he called us less than an hour before and stated he would be coming that same day. He had previously told us that it would probably happen that week, but said he would let us know the day before (not less than one hour before). When the crew arrived for the job they quickly went to work. The experience of the crew was evident in how they worked seamlessly together. Chris was on site for the majority of the day overseeing his crew and was very amendable to us adjusting the borders of the driveway last minute to clear up a miscommunication regarding what we wanted. The workmanship was high quality and they completed our entire project in about 8 hours in one day. We are extremely pleased with the job Chris and his crew did and it was worth the frustration of getting it coordinated. Overall: Excellent workmanship, reasonable pricing, difficult communication to set a date for the job

This contractor repeatedly lied to me about installation dates. He would set a date and I would call ahead of these date to confirm what time he would be on-site. Each time he would say there was just no way he could get to me on the date he had already provided. On the last date he provided he assured me that this date is "set in stone". Meanwhile my completion date is rapidly approaching and he was made fully aware that, i was running out of time to get this completed, per my clients and each time he assured me "we will get you done, Bud". On my last conversation, one week before I need to have this absolutely completed I called one last time to confirm and he said one last time that he was not going to be able to perform the work that he had said was "set in stone". At this point I am up against a deadline, with very slim hopes of finding another qualified contractor to perform when I need it done and for the price I built into my quote . He is a liar and he lines up jobs and then picks the most profitable ones to complete when he is the most busy! Please beware!

Chris is very responsive and they showed up on time and went out of their way to do and excellent job. They took the time to knock off all loose cement, brought in s*** for the base and poured the floor and the base in just a couple of hours. Great company and employees.

I owe an apology to Mr. Ruh for being so late with this much-deserved review. I became caught up in a few things, and time slipped away. Better late than never I suppose. Our concrete was original concrete and the years did a number on it. The driveway was crumbling apart in particular. Mr. Ruh personally came out to our home to write the estimate. I collected estimates from 2 other vendors. Their estimates were over double what Mr. Ruh provided in his estimate. One of the biggest savings on the estimate was that he agreed to replace our sinking porch slab for an additional, nominal amount. The other contractors tacked on thousands of dollars to do this additional task. Once they came out to do the work, they found that the original driveway had no gravel underneath it, which explains why it had the durability of a wafer. Mr. Ruh's original estimate called for little to no gravel with the assumption that our driveway already had gravel underneath it. However, they still stayed true to the original estimate price even after they had to send for gravel to put under the new driveway. They found our sinking slab was lacking gravel as well causing it to sink. They filled concrete under the adjacent slab to prevent it from sinking in the future. I suppose this review after a longer period of time works better since I am commenting on a new driveway that survived the winter. As it should, it is still holding up well. My one reservation is that the driveway has a splotchy color to it that never went away. I was hoping it would fade after the curing process, but it is something that stuck around months later. Perhaps this is normal, but I am uncertain. However, I can't bring myself to downgrade from an A because of that. Mr. Ruh was a very personable and reasonable businessman, and his crew did a terrific job. Compared to the awfulness we had before, it is nice to shovel the driveway in the winter without throwing chunks of concrete into the front yard.

Chris is no-nonsense and very fair. He doesn't lay on a thick sales pitch; he just gives an honest and simple bid. We had other companies give us bids and they were very slow, complicated and more expensive, mostly because they didn't want to do any repairs to our steps but wanted to completely replace them. We had a little wait before the work was done but that happens with a busy contractor. Once he came out to do the work it was done within a day with minimal disruption.

They can do better with their pricing. The workers that came out were fine.

Beautiful work and done in one day. Also weeded the badly need flower bed. Would definitely use him again.

Chris was great to work with. He was on top of communication the whole way and checked in frequently without me having to call. He went above and beyond the scope of the work by cleaning up the yard a bit and taking out some rubble laying on the one side of the house. He came in under his bid and didn't charge for a footer that needed poured unexpectedly. Perhaps the best part of Chris' work came in a miscommunication we had about what to do with some rotted sill plates. I had asked Christ to replace the rotted sill plates while they were in doing the foundation work. I came back after they had most of the foundation done, and none of the sill plates were replaced. The bad sill plates were eaten inside out from bug damage, and hard to recognize without poking around. I showed Chris the bad sill plates, and he was very apologetic. Since most of the foundation work was done, however, it was beyond the scope of what he was comfortable tackling. He said he would make some calls and find someone who could do the sill plates, and pay for it. It took a few weeks, but even after Chris was done and paid he found someone to come out and fix the sill plates. I have already recommended Chris to friends. If I have any other concrete work to be done at my house, Chris will be the first call.

My porch was crumbling away along the edges and had big pockets of rubble in the center where the cement had broken apart. After I called the office to set up an estimate, It took about a week before I heard back. Chris came out for the estimate and I hired him on the spot. He actually started the work the day after I received an estimate! He was planning on doing it about a week out but had finished up some jobs in the neighborhood and went ahead and started mine. His crew is very hard working, polite, and professional. It took two days to complete the job. The porch is beautiful, they did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be happier. In addition to what I hired him for, I talked to Chris about my basement since I get streams of water whenever it rains hard. He looked at the basement and walked around the house with me. He recommended that I get my gutters cleaned and build dirt up around the foundation of my house. And get this - he had a friend of his do this for me on day 2 at no additional cost! His friend power washed the gutters to remove debris, power washed my house while he was at it (it was very dirty), and spread the dirt around my foundation. That was such a nice surprise! I think Chris is genuinely a very nice person who cares about his customers and people in general. While he was working at my house, a boy scout came by to sell popcorn. Chris was going to buy some to be delivered to my house, but since I don't eat popcorn, he gave the money to the boy scout as a donation. What a nice guy! I told my friends at work about him and they will be calling him for work they need done.

We were in a bad situation as our previous contractor jack hammered everything and took off with our money. I had been calling around for weeks. Even though they were extremely busy when he saw the bind we were in, Chris ended our nightmare the very next day and knocked $500 off the quote knowing we were already out a ton of money. They showed up on time, we're very kind and professional. They even went as far as power washing the driveway to clean up any mess left behind. I highly recommend Chris Ruh!

He called on Sunday, the 19th and stated that he would start at 8 o'clock on the 20th. The men arrived 15 minutes before time to start and broke the cement on sidewalk and driveway. Waited for inspector to show and filled with cement. I really do appreciate all those who assisted in completing the job well done.

We cannot say enough nice things about Chris Ruh and his crew. On 6/22/15, we had a different contractor give us an estimate on the work. He made cuts on the approach; then the following week said that he had to 'drop the job' and he left us hanging. So happy we didn't give him a down payment!! On 6/29/15, I contacted 11 companies about repairing/replacing our driveway and got only three responses. One company wouldn't even come out to estimate the job, since they thought it was too small and another company set us up for an appointment the following week. On 6/30/15 Chris came out and gave us an estimate and he began the job on 7/2/15! They were here promptly at 7:30, and began right away; Chris and his crew (more like team) were professional, courteous and hardworking. Chris was overseeing the job 90% of the time, and it went very smoothly. The driveway, approach and sidewalk tear-out was done before noon and they were done with the whole job by the end of the day. It looks awesome and we are very pleased with the job.

I called them on Monday and Chris came out the next day for the estimate and then started the work on the next day. Originally I had not planned to tear out the old concrete, but after Chris saw all the low spots that the back patio had he gave me different suggestions on possible solutions. He stayed in constant contact with me throughout the whole process. They had everything completed in 1 and 1/2 days. His crew was very hard working and stayed late the first night until they had all the old concrete removed. Chris and his crew are very professional and ensure that they are doing the work exactly as you want throughout the entire process. I called many other companies and they did not want to even come out for an estimate because they thought the job was to small. Chris Ruh runs a great business and has a great team. I would recommend him for any job big or small.
