+ -1 moreGreat experience. On time, explained everything he was going to do. Checked the house thoroughly. Told me what to look for in the future and there are probably colonies in the yard so we will have to continue to spray for a little while.
Description of Work: John informed me of the pests in and around our home. Sprayed the inside and out. Recommended future treatment. He asked me to call him in 2 weeks if we still see carpenter ants running around. The activity increased the 1st week, but we are seeing less now.

+ -1 moreWe have used this company many times at our home and now our office. We had a big termite problem at our home a few years back and purchased a Centricon system (the ''BEST'' solution). Now we have a carpenter ant problem and will be having it treated in a couple of weeks. John Addair is AWESOME! He is very knowledgeable, professional, and answers all of our questions. (Don't waste your time buying 'bug spray' at the store which may give you a headache or worse--just call John and he'll take care of you!)
Description of Work: We had them spray and treat our office for ants and clover mites (tiny ''red'' bugs on the windowsills). We had them just put us on a 'quarterly treatment' basis and just bill us so we don't even have to think about it.

+ -1 moreJohn was professional, courteous, and helpful. He went out of his way to show us things that could prevent problems in the future. He also was respectful of our situation - having a 2 week old baby. He would knock quietly so he would not wake the baby. Very considerate. I felt the price for what we actually had done (traps set and removal of two squirrels) was a bit steep, but considering the other advice we received, it was worth it in the end.
Description of Work: We had animals of an unknown kind getting into our home between floors. John from Capital City Exterminating came out quickly after our call to check out what was going on and give us an estimate on removal. As it turns out John found two holes outside our home the squirrels had created to get in. He set traps and caught 2 squirrels. He came promptly when called (even on his day off) to remove the traps with the squirrels in them. John also gave us good advice on how to prevent further problems - a loose roof shingle needed repair and gutters needed fixed. His company obviously did not do that work but he could see critter problems in the future if those things were not addressed. We sealed the holes and no longer hear the pitter patter of squirrels feet!

+ -1 moreThey came out to perform my winter treatment at the end of winter rather than the beginning. When I called to ask why they gave me a winter treatment when its almost spring they just said that's the way it is done.
Description of Work: They treated my house for winter pest control to keep out carpenter ants, mice, spiders, centipedes, pill bugs, etc.

+ -1 moreThe service was excellent. John was on time, considerate of any materials that needed to be cleaned up from blown-in insulation from the attic, and followed up repeatedly with us. He went above and beyond on the interior repair while helping us keep our costs down. I would definitely recommend their services.
Description of Work: Technician determined a problem with squirrels and the location from which they were entering our attic. Traps were set for live removal. The technician also installed wire mesh at the point of entry. We were also advised on exterior repairs and tree trimming that will be necessary to prevent a repeat of the problem.

He thoroughly explained the process, and walked me around the house to determine where the mice were coming in, and recommended a detail repair list to do, along with the work he would be doing. At the two week follow-up, he showed me the bait that had been eaten, and re-filled all the bait traps with the assurance of no more mice. We also have termites, and he will be working with us on a monthly basis to control those. I have been extremely pleased with his service, and his attentiveness to our problems. I have his cell phone number in case of questions, and would highly recommend him and Capital City Exterminating to any Angie's List member.
Description of Work: We called Capital City Exterminating to do inspections to determine if we had mice and also termites. John Addair, Jr. came out and inspected for both, determining that yes, both would be an issue.

HE SUGGESTED WE LOOK FOR A WATER MAIN BREAK. . .THERE WAS A WATER MAIN BREAK NEAR OUR BACK YARD AND THERE WAS POOLING. AND THE MOSQUITOES WERE JUST MULTIPLYING. HE WAS COURTEOUS, AND WILLING TO CLEAN UP THE REMNANT DEAD BUGS LEFT OVER FROM THE INITIAL SPRAYING EARLIER THIS YEAR. HE CALLED WHEN HE WAS GOING TO BE LATE TO RESCHEDULE.

+ -1 moreWE GET WRITTEN REPORTS FROM THE WORKERS AFTER THEY HAVE INSPECTED THE OUTDOOR TRAPS. THEY ALWAYS RING THE DOORBELL AND IDENTIFY THEMSELVES BEFORE THEY START WALKING AROUND YOUR YARD. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN POLITE.
Description of Work: TERMITE TREATMENT AND MAINTENANCE. THE ABOVE FEE IS FOR MONTHLY MAINTENANCE, WHICH INCLUDES CHECKING AND BAITING THE TRAPS AND REPLACING THEM WHEN NECESSARY. THE LAWN MOWERS TEND TO CHEW UP THE TRAPS FROM TIME TO TIME AS WELL AS THE WEATHER. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND HAVING THE MAINTENANCE IF YOU'VE HAD ACTIVE INFESTATION, BECAUSE WE'VE HAD REINFESTATION AND THE MAINTENANCE KEEPS THE TERMITES FROM GETTING OUT OF CONTROL.

THE APPROACH THEY USE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT, AND THEIR QUOTE, WHICH I GOT OVER THE PHONE, WAS QUITE A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MY PREVIOUS SERVICE. I SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO THINK IT OVER. TOO MY SURPRISE, WHEN WE RETURNED FROM A TRIP THEY HAD COME AND SPRAYED, AND LEFT A BILL. I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND PAY FOR IT, BUT CALLED AND SAID NOT TO COME AGAIN. I RECENTLY GOT A CALL THAT SAID THEY WERE COMING AGAIN ON THE FOLLOWING DAY. I CALLED AND SAID "DO NOT COME". I DON'T LIKE THIS SORT OF PUSHINESS.
