John climbed up on a ladder to get a close look and confirmed that the "bites" were caused by a woodpecker. He suggested a couple of options we could try as woodpeckers are a protected species and we could not bait the shingles or do anything to cause harm to the woodpecker. All in all, John spent at least three quarters of an hour with us, answering any questions we had as we live in a wooded area and are doing a major renovation. John gave us his professional opinion as to what we might need for insect protection once our house is completed. He refused to take any money for his time or travel.

I use Capital City for my Sentricon System, so I knew they were a great company to work with. They came right out, told me what the bugs were and treated the inside area that day. They came back 2 days later and treated the outside of the house.

They were prompt, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to others, especially John. I felt safe with him in my house. He is very trustworthy. He was less expensive than other companies and still maintained a high quality of service.

They have been out a couple of different of times for spraying for ants and pests. They have done an all house spray from the roof line and go out ten feet into the yard. They are very knowledgeable and very kind. They explain everything they are going to do for you. They let you know what the chemicals are in the products in case you have Asthma. They bend over back wards for you. Their chemicals last three to six months. If you have any problems they come out free of charge and respray. They work with your schedule and will come out anytime you need them to come out. They do weekends and after six p.m. at night. They follow up afterwords also to see if the problem is taken care of. They always know you because you get the same tech each time.

They were about twenty minutes late coming out. They did not send the person that they told me would be coming out. The individual that came out could not answer my questions on the chemicals as far as impact on humans. He was not able to answer my questions about ants. They had to come out twice to fix the problem. I got a bill and it was more than the largest amount quoted to me. I have called the company twice to see why it was that much money and they said they had to talk to the individual who came out, and they haven't gotten back to me. They only have a sixty day guarantee and there are chemicals at the hardware store that are guaranteed for a year.

The person who came walked me through everything and explained everything. At the same time, he didn't waste a lot of my time. They were very neat and organized.

I was very pleased with their knowledge and ability to convey it, their professionalism and the results.

As I recall they were pleasant and on time. It's been awhile since they were out, I need to call them again.

They followed up also to make sure there were no future problems. I would definitely use this company again in the future.

The experience was good. They came promptly. We discussed what needed to be done at the property. They sprayed and sent me a bill and the price was what I expected it to be.

Eddie arrived right on time and listened carefully to my description of the problem. He examined the problem areas, inside and out, then explained what he would do. He left gel bait inside that the ants would take home to kill the whole hive. He sprayed the outside to kill the nests there. It made a huge difference, but a couple weeks later we were still spotting a few ants inside. Eddie returned and put more gel bait inside, and outside scattered dry granules. We still have a few field ants on our patio outside, but it's not the problem it was - and no more sightings inside.

They are very professional. The young man that initially came was extremely helpful. He spent a lot of time and made sure we understood our options. He made a special trip to bring additional information. They did not pressure us.

I will call another company to do the work! What a joke!

While cleaning out the garage, I noticed that we had what appeared to be termite damage in the wood surrounding an exterior door. Upon further inspection, I realized that the damage was extensive--into the foundation beams and inside the door itself. I checked with Angie's List and had Capital City come out to do an inspection and estimate. Jeff found not only the termites, but also carpenter ants, a small hornet's nest, and lots of carpenter bee nests. He did some preliminary spraying to get rid of some of the more obnoxious carpenter bees and the hornet's nest, and scheduled a comprehensive visit for the next week. The next week, Jeff arrived on time, with his Centricom termite system, the rodent stations, and his spray pack. In 90 degree heat and humidity, he installed all the stations and explained how they work. He explained that the termite stations are spaced every five feet or so around the house and the garage, and that they destroy the termite colonies, not just the termites that find their way into the house or garage. I appreciated the fact that the termite and rodent stations were pet and childproof, and that the chemicals wouldn't harm the rest of the critters that call this place home. (I really didn't want our chickens to eat the dead carpenter bees then drop dead in the yard!) It's now been a couple of weeks since Jeff has treated the house, and I've seen no signs of the bees, hornets, termites, or mice. I'm really glad that we chose this method of extermination--no toxic chemical issues, no horrific smells in the house or garage, and no way my kids or animals (3 cats plus the chickens in the coop) could be adversely affected.

Upon an initial call, they were able to give me an estimate and schedule an appointment for within one week's time. Jeff was on-time, professional, and took the time to answer my questions. I pointed out a few concerns upon his arrival, and he addressed them while he completed the estimated work. I felt that the price was fair for the amount of time he spent at our home (over 1 hour) and he gave us some suggestions for maintenance we could do ourselves and/or options for regular service from Capital City.

We had a problem with multiple colonies of ants, including carpenter ants, infesting our house. Capital City came out, sprayed extensively with nontoxic spray that is not harmful to pets or children, and even took care of some wasps nests we had around the building that I had been unaware of. Within hours of treatment, almost all ant activity had ceased. It is now one week later and I have not seen a single ant in or around or property since the day of treatment. Thank you, Capital City! They were very professional, thorough, and totally took care of our problem. I would definitely use them again.

I called Capital City to see if they could get rid of bees living in my patio table. I called on a Thursday; they said they could come out on the following Tuesday between 2 and 3pm. They quoted me a price of $125.00 less the Angie's List discount of 5%. The technician was running late; he called at three to tell me that he would be there by 4:30. He actually arrived by 4 and spent about 20 minutes treating the table. The bees appear to be gone. And he said that the fee would be $100, and they would send me a bill because the quote was too high. They were very professional; the job was clean and done properly. And they even called to say they were running late, instead of just leaving me hanging waiting around for them!

I've been fighting ants--on and off--for awhile now. I was leery of calling an exterminator, as I didn't want to enter into a long-term contract.
