Big Ten Appliance Service

Initial service call was fine. The repair person gave me some pointed details about my oven (the original owners didn't set up correctly). He couldn't repair than; had to order a part. I had to follow up w/a call as it was 2 weeks w/o any follow up contact. The person at their office indicated it was expected that day (13th day) and they were going to attempt to complete the repair on the 14th day (Friday). Well, it didn't happen until that following Monday (12th). Someone else was at my home to wait for the person. She said the repairman seem harried and was very frustrated. He didn't leave a bill or invoice indicating what was repaired and he left the box where the replacement part came in in front of my oven. I was not very happy.

They did just fine. They came out when they were scheduled. They did the repair just fine.

I like that they did not come out and try to sell me a new refrigerator. They came out and explained what we needed and what we could look for in the future and do later down the road. I was pleased that he gave us some options.

They came and determined what the problem was. They came back within a week. It wasn't defrosting properly. The service tech came out promptly, inspected and ordered the part. By Tuesday everything was working well. I am very satisfied.

The service call was made the day after we called. Les called ahead to let us know he would be arriving soon. He analyzed and diagnosed the problems and talked through our options for repairing the dryer or simply replacing it. He had all the needed parts with him, and he was entirely finished with the job within an hour. He also cleaned out a huge amount of accumulated lint inside the dryer, and he covered a lens opening inside the door that was allowing lint to escape.

Serviceman was very polite, explained what he thought was wrong, then showed me problems w/ parts and explained what was needed along w/ the cost, then I could say what I wanted to do. Very quick, he was probably here all of 15 minutes, everything worked great afterwards.

He is a really nice, sweet man! He is very efficient and dependable. He is very soft spoken and not obtrusive. I have recommended him to my neighbors.

After the company rescheduled the appointment several times due to the repair man being injured, they finally came to look at the oven. He started the oven, saw that the preheat sensor chimed too soon (without temp being high enough) and said we needed a new clock. The clock would cost $337 to be installed. He didn't check the temp to see if it eventually got to temp or that it was staying heated thru several cycles (like the 2nd company we had out for a 2nd opinion). In the end, we didn't get the part, we tried another company for a 2nd opinion. FYI-In scheduling the appointment, I knew the repair man was injured with the possiblity of not being available on the 1st appt. What got me upset was that the company didn't call first thing in the morning to let me know the repairman couldn't come out, I waited at home and finally called towards the end of the appt window to find out he wasn't coming. The least they could have done was be proactive and call to reschedule 1st thing in the morning when they knew he couldn't work.

Excellent! Fixed it at a very reasonable price. Very professional and explained what the problem was. Would definitely recommend and use again.

This was the first time I had used their services. It went great. The guy came out and checked the model and everything. When he looked at it he saw that the old thermostat was sticking and not shutting off. He came back about ten days later and replaced it when the part came in. He said if we had anymore problems to give him a call.

Les has been out and has followed up with numerous phone calls. He's trying to avoid the cost of a new motor, so he wants to make sure that his decision on what is wrong is correct. He has spent a lot of time on the problem and is actually returning one more time to make sure he is right. He certainly goes above and beyond. The easy way would be just to replace the motor.

It all went well. We made an appointment with a single phone call, the technician arrived within the time frame we were given, and the repair was made completely and efficiently. The price was reasonable, but the discount promised was minimal and somewhat misleading (10% of labor, but labor is the least costly component of total cost).

They came out and looked at it. It turned out to be a compressor problem. They just charged me their service charge. They were very nice. The tech was very professional, fast, efficient, and on time. I think the service charge was fair.

Everything went very good. I thought they were reasonably priced so I called them. They were on time, the price was good and they fixed the problem.

I spoke with Peggy and she had recommended I check to make sure the washer was not under any warranty. I had to reschedule with them after I had checked this. I really appreciated this advise. Many companies would just let you pay the price. I called a second time to schedule an appointment. Again, Peggy was very pleasant and helpful. The biggest thing I appreciated about their service is they called an hour ahead and this allowed me to go to work and get some things done and get home in time for the technician. Les called me at work and I was home within 15 minutes. Les was very nice and full of knowledge. After he inspected the washer, he gave me two options; repair it at a high cost or replace it with a new washer that hopefully won't have the same future problems that my 8-year-old washer may have. I really appreciated the honesty of Peggy and Les. I would definitely use Big Ten again. I had a very good experience with them.

Great, they called ahead of time and arrived sooner then we thought and all on the same day to boot! Fast, efficient, took the time to explain what they were doing, how to better maintain the appliance ourselves, what to keep an eye out for and recommended we with the dryer vent cleaned and perhaps change the outside vent as ours is too close to the ground.

Went great, very smooth and professional. I haven't had any trouble from the washer since.

The dryer was over twenty years old.

The process worked very well. My ice maker had broken before. When Les repaired it the 1st time he warned me that it could happen again unless I increased the water pressure to the refrigerator. When it stopped working the 2nd time I got the water pressure fixed and then called Big 10 Appliance Repair. Les fixed it quickly and only charged me for the service call.

Les was fantastic. He arrived on time, after calling and letting me know he was on the way. His arrival was within the parameters the office had given me when I made the appt. After I described the problem, he went right to work. He was able to quickly diagnose the defective heating element and had the part with him. He thought maybe the not shutting off problem was related to the heating element, as on automatic cycle dryers, this could happen. Mine wasn't an automatic, but he thought it could be related. He replaced the element and double checked to insure the dryer would cycle off and it did. The cost was below what I had expected. Les was personable and efficient. But the best part is that I had left a 96" piece of wood upright in the garage and when I opened the door, it knocked the door off track. Les told me how I could fix it, but when I proved inept, HE FIXED THE GARAGE DOOR FOR ME! Now THAT is customer service. I will hire him again and strongly recommend him.
