Best Service Heating & Cooling

It was great. I called to schedule an appointment. They were very accommodating. On the service date, the technician came on time. he was friendly and professional. He quickly checked out the furnaces and filters and then went out to the AC unit where he did a full service check. We are ready for the summer heat.

Russ Christian, the owner of this company, and two technicians arrived promptly on the agreed install date. They placed a runner over the floor in the areas where they would walk through the house. They also placed shoe covers on their shoes to prevent soiling our floors. I very much appreciate that! They installed a new Maytag furnace after removing and carrying away our 20 year old existing furnace. They also installed a new air conditioner unit, replacing an 11 year old unit that was outdated and ready to go. Both the furnace and the air conditioner are 95% energy efficient and have variable speed motors. A new programmable thermostat was also installed. Russ spent quite a bit of time with me a week or so prior to the install, explaining every detail of the items being considered and answered all of my questions in layman terms so that I could easily understand what he was saying. He also explained the rebates involved, not just from the manufacturer but also from our electric company. To make our heating/cooling systems perform more efficiently in our 20 year old home, two much needed cold air vents were added. These were not easy installs but have made a difference in our temperature control. We are very happy with the work done and the products installed. Perhaps the best aspect thus far is the noise reduction. Particularly with the air conditioner. It's just amazing! We can sit on our back porch, within 10 feet of the a/c unit, and have a conversation without raising our voices when the unit kicks on! We keep the fan ON continually on our thermostat; the addition of the two cold air returns have greatly reduced the fan noise as well.

I discussed the coupon with Best Service. They answered right away and answered all of my questions. In the end, I felt that I didn’t need the service.

Purchased Angie's List Big Deal for service as a new customer. Think I will keep with these guys in light of next year's service not being provided at promo prices. Very professional. Did not pressure me into expensive repairs. Discussed my options, and we made the most economical and frankly the most reasonable choices based on the age and condition of my HVAC system. After my first heating and air conditioning checkup with Best Service, I think I have a plan as to keep my system working properly, while knowing what I need to save when I need to replace these systems. Their service technician, Rob, was very patient with me asking lots of questions, and even checked a couple of things for me that were technically out of the scope of his visit. He checked for leaks in my refrigerant lines upon my request (I asked after he noted that the refrigerant level in my AC system were low). He showed me the reading on his gauge set for verification. Having checked the refrigerant levels in my car before with manifold gauges and being an engineer, I am understand how the basics of how an HVAC system works. He appeared to be correct and honest in his claims.

I do not know the purpose of this questionnaire. A service was performed that was paid for. Was it a good experience! NO. They knew I was desperate.

As I was going upstairs to bed at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, I realized it felt cool in the house. Looked at the thermostat and saw the temperature was 65 degrees. The thermostat is usually at 70. Walked over to the register and felt nothing but cool air coming out. Called Best Service at 12:25 a.m. and left a message. Within one minute the owner returned my call and said I would be the first stop in the morning. The service guy found the problem within minutes. Pulled out the heating/firing element and showed me the crack in the middle. Within 15 minutes of the arrival of a Best Service heating technician, I had heat! This is the only provider I use for all of my heating and air conditioning needs.

We have been customers of Best Service for many years and, as usual, they didn't disappoint. To help us choose a furnace, Russ (the owner) met with us one evening and provided careful and clear information about our options. He recommended we go with a unit with a variable speed fan because it would be economical to leave the fan running all the time due to the lower energy consumption by the variable speed motor versus a one-speed motor. He predicted that doing so would help solve a major problem in our house: unequal temperature between upstairs and downstairs. Even after two days with the new furnace it is obvious he was right. The upstairs is much warmer than it had been and we expect it to be cooler in the summer. As for the installation itself, the installer was both very professional and very competent and the everything went without a hitch. Before he left he carefully went over everything he had done and what we should expect from the new furnace. He also carefully cleaned the job site. In sum, Best Service is a top-notch company with top-notch service people. We have come to expect high quality service from them and that's what we got. We will continue to rely on them for all our heating and cooling needs in the future. We give them our highest recommendation.

The work and professionalism of the service technicians was excellent. They laid floor runners down to minimize tracking dirt into the house (it was a muddy day). They invited any questions about the job's progress. Craftsmanship and pride in their work was evident, and they assured the appliances and supporting mechanisms were level, plumb, etc. They worked through issues with the previous installation and corrected all items that were on their original diagnostic list. This included the circuit breaker feeding the furnace, which was far over-sized for the unit and would not have tripped had there been an overheating problem with the electrical wiring. A couple of days later, the company sent a personally-signed "thank-you" card, along with documentation that they had registered the system with the manfacturer (this is a requirement for the extended warranty coverage, and can be overlooked in the fine print).

The installation went exceptionally well. The workman were able to work in a very confined space and were able to route the plumbing and duct work in an efficient manner. It had snowed the day before the installation so the men took great care in protecting our carpet by laying down dropcloths to cover the floors. The workman were quiet, professional, were glad to answer our many questions and cleaned up after they were done. They were a pleasure to work with.

Best Service has helped us with a couple of plumbing projects. Most impressive was their help with a tankless water heater that had been installed by another company. The water heater unit was defective and failed less than two years following purchase. As the new factory authorized servicer for this area, Best provided repeated support and documentation to the manufacturer, who was balking on its warranty. When the manufacturer finally agreed to replace the unit, Best performed the installation, and the unit has been trouble free ever since. Best also replaced outside plumbing faucets on another occasion. More recently Best submitted a very competitive bid and a furnace/AC replacement (a project I have deferred). Best Service is very competent, highly responsive, and competitively priced. The owner is customer oriented and runs a smart business that I will use again.

We found Best Service on Angie's List, and they have been great. We got an annual service agreement with them that covers our spring and fall inspections, and it also gives us a discount on services. I highly recommend their services.

They are just wonderful work with. They follow up with you. If you have a problem they will get back to you right away.

The whole process went very smooth. It was done in a day. No mess. They cleaned up everything. The guys were very professional and polite. I would recommend them to everybody.

I loved that he told me how to fix this little issue instead of calling him back the next year. I will def. use them again for anything needed.

I have used them many times before that and they really helped me. They nursed my seventeen year old furnace by just replacing certain parts. They had always told me that I was eventually going to be on the down side of just fixing it. They were quite professional and their price was excellent. They were associated with the finance company that I was able to do business with. They always were just very easy to deal with and they were trying to keep things going with this little cost as possible for me for quite a long time. I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

I think they did a good job, punctual and offer a great price. I will be using them again to do work on my basement.

I made an appointment on Monday for the first Wednesday appointment as my HVAC was leaking water. They were pleasant and professional on the phone. I was told they would call me when they were on the way. Wednesday at 8:30am I called Best Service as I hadn't gotten a call. I was told the tech had been dispatched and to call back if they had not arrived in 30 minutes. They had not arrived within the 30 minutes so I called back and was told that the tech was on his way. Donnie arrived shortly after and got right to work diagnosing the issue. He gave the HVAC a thorough once over and diagnosed the drain hose as plugged causing the water to leak out the bottom of the unit. Once that was cleaned and put back in place, he made sure that the unit was working correctly before leaving. I was very impressed with Donnie's thoroughness and pleasant and professional demeanor.

Our Sat. morning call was immediately answered by the owner, Rus. Our pilot light would not stay lit and we had already replace the thermacouple and were still experiencing the same problem. Rus was very helpful by talking over the work we had done ourselves to ensure we had done it properly. He then said that replacing the thermacouple is what they would have done if they came out to the house. He determined that we probably needed to replace our 14 year old water heater and we scheduled an appointment for Mon. afternoon to complete the work. This experience was vastly different from other places that I called on Sat. who either didn't answer their phones or the call went to a call center who were not knowledgable in water heaters and just wanted to send someone out (at a premium weekend rate to me of course) to check on my water heater. These places could not confirm weather the heater could be replaced if the technician was unable to fix it that day. I much preferred waiting until mon. for a reputable company to replace my water heater and not pay someone to come out and charge me to tell me it needs to be replaced and still have to wait until mon. for the replacement. Donnie arrived on schedule on Mon. and was extremely professional and informative. He replaced the water heater, left the basement cleaner than he had found it, and took the time to explain the new water heater on detail to us. Donnie also gave us some advice on cost effective ways to maintain our existing heating and a/c systems ourselves. We have had nothing but good experiences with Best and will continue to use them for our heating, A/C, and water heater needs in the future.

They are so honest. They do good work and they clean up after themselves. Just all around great business people.

Very responsive to this urgent situation (90 plus degree day). Fixed in a timely manner and made suggestions for future self service.

We called the company, indicating that we were having a problem with our furnace coming on and staying on. They set up a convenient time and came out to work on the furnace at the appointed time. The technician was courteous and professional. They always put on shoe covers, when they come into the house. We have used this company for years and could not be more pleased. Their prices are reasonable, and they provide consistently sound service. We have been very pleased.

I called the owner gave an estimate over the phone, said they could come the next day to install. The technicians, Mark and Butch came to install and they were pleasant, professional and thorough. They removed old water heater, cleaned underneath area and installed new one. The job was done within a couple hours. Excellent job and I will use them again. They mentioned they also do plumbing I will also call them for this.
