Ahlum & Arbor Tree Preservation

Very professional, did the job the way my husband preferred and cleaned up all the mess. Then they came back later to do a final cleanup. This is the second time we have used them and they are great.

I left a message with an office staff member asking if the arborist try to come again on a specific day. I received no response. There was never any follow through from the company the two times I called and spoke asking for follow up for estimate which I had confirmed by email I would pay

We have used Ahlum in the past and have been happy but since it was such a large job, we decided to get other quotes from other top Angie's List arborists. Ahlum was over $3,200 LESS and did more work. Everyone I had contact with from Ahlum were very professional and courteous. I have already recommended them on a Bexley/Berwick/Eastmoor FB group that I belong to and intend to use them in the future when I have more work.

They have always performed excellently, reliably, and on time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for the excellent and professional level of work that they always always do.

I have purchased firewood for more than a decade. The prices are always fair. The quality of the wood is really good, seasoned and ready to burn. They sell a full cord and do not cheat in their deliveries. I always recommend them. You may be able to purchase a "cord" of wood cheaper than their price, but unless know the company, you may be buying junk wood or a "face cord" which is not a legal measurement of a cord. 4X4X8.

They showed up on time and explained exactly what they were going to do. Very knowledgeable and took time to educate me. They have also been very helpful and answered questions when I called them on other occasions with more questions about my trees.

The arborist arrived on time. While he was at my home, he helped me identify several of the trees and shrubs in the yard and gave me an idea of what should be done to care for them. While the diagnosis visit did cost $50, they made that very clear up front. The person that came was very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me treatments or services that I didn't need. I would use them again

The man came out at the appointed time. He gave me advice that I needed on the trees in question and also advised on several others while he was here. He also recommended a local business that I could get ant bait and a fertilizer for some young oaks that we just planted.

They were professional, on time, and did a great job including cleaning up. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

They only have certified arborist look and work on your trees. I have been using them for 4 years. They do excellent work and I would recommend them to anyone.

Our front yard Ash tree was showing signs of Emerald Ash Borer infestation. I had originally contacted Ahlum & Arbor to do their injection treatment on the tree. Mr. Ahlum came out to assess the tree before hand and gave his honest opinion that he did not feel that the injections would help our tree at this point - the effects of the infestation were worse than I had realized and Mr Ahlum pointed out various indicators, that were then obvious to me. We discussed that the tree should be taken down and he also gave several options for a replacement that I could research, when I asked. Although no work or appointment scheduled to do the work has been done yet (my procrastination), I feel that Ahlum & Arbor showed much professionalism at their assessment appointment, and I feel their quote for the tree removal service was very fair and competitive. They are a busy company, and I understand now why --they are good and have a wide customer base -- so scheduling is usually months out.

When we called, we reached a real person! Vanessa was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of company practices. The assessment was scheduled soon after we called. Bill, an arborist, looked at each tree with me and discussed what was needed. After Bill’s assessment ($75), we signed and submitted the proposal. The day before the two different portions of the work were scheduled to be completed, we received telephone calls letting us know the work would be done. Skip completed the fertilization of our trees/shrubs. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he was doing and what to expect. John and Lenny worked together to remove girdling roots from a tree struggling to get the nutrients it needs. They also took the time to explain what they were doing, what to expect, and recommendations going forward. We would definitely recommend Ahlum & Arbor.

They've done my tree trimming - in my previous home as well as this one - for at least 10 years. I'm very confident that they know what they're doing. They're professionals & know trees. They come when they're supposed to come, do what they're supposed to, & clean up when they're done. Dave who is the owner is the one who does the estimates & is always friendly, professional, & good to work with. I've always been satisfied with their work.

David Ahlum was very responsive to our desire to get an estimate for tree pruning along our home tree line. We have used their services for tree spraying but never for pruning. David was very responsive, prompt and detailed in his estimate of work related to my desire to raise the level of our canopy to approx 25'. We did however go another direction but would consider their srvices in any related arbor needs.

They told me that they charge a $50.00 fee just to come out and give an estimate. That terminated the whole idea of using their services for me.

Ahlum and Arbour Tree Preservation have been taking care of my trees for a long time. I will continue to use them. The man that comes out here is a real professional.

It was fine. I only wish they had call the day before they treated to let me know they were coming, so I could plan a little better for the dog, but otherwise I was happy. Hopefully the treatments will continue to preserve our trees.

The overall experience is excellent.

Based on a company close by and with good ratings called for estimate to thin several trees. Told all new customers charged $ 50.00for inital estimate. Declined service eventhough would rather support a local company.

I was recommended to them by my neighbor. They always do a very good job. They let me know when they were coming. They cleaned up before leaving. I would use them again in the future.

I give them an "A" overall. We will use them again in the future.

I think they provide good service. But it really helps if you can talk to them by phone and not trade phone (massages). Because there can be confusion. So we had some confusion in communication. But they provide a good service and they are reliable. I trust them.

Excellent. You could hardly tell they had been here except that the trees had been pruned. I wouldn't consider using any other company to care for my large trees. Not the cheapest in town, but the best rarely is.

Everything went well. Service was wonderful. Will know more in the spring when the trees develop leaves.
