Description of Work: They showed up on time but were quite inexperienced. They didn't seem to know how to properly trim the trees, took a very long time to do the job (trimmed lots of little branches before then cutting the larger branch off where they had already trimmed), and the cost was quit a bit more than we expected. I had an independent consultant check their work and was told that the job was not done properly. |This is a large company and I have no doubt that some people there know what they are doing, but the "crew" that did our job did not live up to our expectations. |It would be great if someone from the company could contact us and remedy the situation. If so, I would be happy to revise our review (if that is possible).

Sorry that Mr. [Member Name Removed] was not happy, but Mr. [Member Name Removed] did not contact Ahlum & Arbor to discuss the job done on Dec. 23, 2015, just posted a complaint on Angies List almost 2 months after the work was completed. Ahlum & Arbor did reach out to him, but it did take some time to find Mr. [Member Name Removed] as the job was under a different name and the job amount was only $595.00 not $900.00. Mr. [Member Name Removed] was contacted by our arborist and did a site visit evaluation on the job with Mr. [Member Name Removed] and resolved the concerns. We feel that the post was a bit unfair, since the client never reached out prior to the post.

THEIR WORK WAS BEAUTIFUL, HOWEVER THEY CHARGED ME $200 MORE THAN WHAT IT SAID ON THE ESTIMATE. I THOUGHT THAT THE INITIAL ESTIMATE INCLUDED ALL OF MY SHRUBS, BUT IT DID NOT. AND THEY DID NOT TELL ME WHY THE PRICED CHANGED. WHEN I RECEIVED THE BILL, I WROTE A LETTER TO THEM EXPLAINING THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS A VERY UNFAIR PRICE AND NOT THE PRICE THAT I EXPECTED. I SENT THEM A PAYMENT FOR THE ENTIRE $327. THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO MY LETTER.

CONTRACT STATED TO DO ONLY 2 JUNIPERS AND 2 DWARF SPRUCES. MRS. ADDED ADDTIONAL WORK WHEN CREW WAS ON SITE AND EXPECTED IT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE ORGINAL COST OF THE CONTRACT. THE EXTRA WORK WAS BILLED AT OUR NORMAL LABOR RATE.

THE WORK WAS EXPENSIVE, BUT THE WORK WAS NECESSARY, AND THE TREES LOOK VERY HEALTHY AND HAVE BLOOMED BEAUTIFULLY THIS SPRING.

I THOUGHT HIS CHARGE FOR AN ESTIMATE WAS FAIR BECAUSE HE HAS TO SPEND TIME AND EFFORT TO COME TO MY HOUSE. HE THEN MADE IT POSSIBLE TO SAVE MONEY BY DOING THE WORK MYSELF. Description of Work: I WAS WORRIED THAT CARPENTER ANTS WERE KILLING MY BIG MAPLE TREE. DAVE INDICATED THAT THEY WERE NOT A PROBLEM. HE WENT AHEAD AND INSPECTED ALL MY TREES WARNING THAT ROOTS CROSSING OVER OTHER ROOTS COULD CUT OFF THE WATER TO THE TREE AND SHOULD BE CUT AWAY. HE LEFT AN ESTIMATE BUT SAID WE COULD DO THE WORK OURSELVES IF WE WANTED TO AND INSTRUCTED ME AS TO HOW.
