A Hometown Appliance Service

Our refrigerator/freezer stopped working on a hot day in July. They squeezed us into their schedule on the same day and got the job done. This husband/wife team were very courteous, professional, and very nice to our pesty pups!

It was an excellent experience. They were even earlier than they had said for the repair. They quickly diagnosed the problem and they shared a wealth of information with us. We knew they were not just taking a stab in the dark. It was very informative and we felt comfortable they knew what they were doing. I felt they were very fair and did not feel like I was taken advantage.

I called and left a voicemail Thursday afternoon. A few hours later I had not heard anything so I called again in the hopes that I could get the frig taken care of by the weekend. Joe answered the phone, thank goodness, and I told him what the problem was. When he said he could come right out, I was rendered speechless! He and Steve came out and diagnosed the problem in no time. A new part had to be purchased so they were back the very next morning, installed the new part and our frig was up and running again, cooling better than it did before.

This is the second time I have used Joe. He is so knowledgeable. He arrived the first time to determine what the problem was, ordered the part, and returned within a day and finished the repair. He is great. I also love the fact that someone actually answers his business phone.

It was wonderful. Holly answered the phone, and was great. Joe came out to the house within several hours of my phone call, and he was also great. I would certainly use the company again.

My dryer stopped heating Sunday night. I called Monday morning and Joe came out that afternoon. Unfortunately, a part needed to be ordered, but Joe was very responsive to my needs and worked around my hectic schedule for the follow-up appointment. Not only did he diagnose the problem right away, but he determined that the underlying cause was poor ventilation. He replaced the thermostat, fixed the dryer venting and tested everything to make sure that the entire ventilation system didn't need to be cleaned (it didn't). I won't hesitate to call him again.

He was very nice and knowledgeable man and if and when I need it repaired I will use them.

Another great job! They even found another problem that had caused stains on our clothes and cleaned that up for us. They were able to reuse a part they originally thought they'd have to replace, saving us a little $$.

We have hire Joe in the past for our washing machine & he is honest, fair & talented. He really knows his stuff. His wife & partner Holly joined him to replace the broken motor in our dishwasher. They were in & out within an hour... didn't wake my sleeping baby & it really wasn't an easy job... (small kitchen & tons of insulation to deal with). Afterward - Joe was kind enough to check out our dryer, which has some quirks & had an estimate for repair within minutes. He offered to come out the very next day to fix it, but we had other financial obligations. We will definitely be calling him back for the dryer soon & again in the future for whatever other appliance repair needs we may have.

They are very helpful and punctual. They were very good to our dog. This is the second time the have been out. The prices were reasonable. He gave us the options of repair vs replacement. Joe has been great this time and last.

Our experience was pretty good. It was unfortunate that the parts they got were defective, which delayed the time it took to get our washer working again. He gave us options and we chose to get replacement parts instead of buying a new unit. He was very easy to work with and we would use him again.

It was a good experience. The repair was made quickly and the technicians were friendly and knowledgeable.

Arrived right on time, diagnosed problem quickly, had parts in his truck, fixed quickly. I left a message on Sunday when our refrigerator broke. Called me back at 8 AM the next day, and had it fixed by 12:00. Very satisfied.

The latch on our front-load washer wouldn't latch, so the washer wouldn't wash. I called Hometown Appliance Service, and a gentleman was out to our house that very same day. He was kind, courteous and very professional. He replaced the latch in short order and even gave us a pointer on how to improve the usefulness of our machine. And, on top of everything else, it cost almost $50 less than we had guessed it would cost. All in all, an excellent experience. Would use this company again in a minute.

From start to finish, the best experience ever! Joe arrived a few hours after calling. He didn't have the part for my model, so he came back the next day. I didn't use the dryer right away and when I did, I didn't have heat. I called Holly and Joe was here within a few hours. He replaced another part and the dryer is like new( the second repair was not noticable after the first visit, no fault of Joe's). He is one of the nicest, most honest guys you'll ever meet! He takes great pride in his work. If you ever need repairs, don't hesitate to call Joe, you'll be glad you did.

Excellent experience. Was able to come within a day or two of calling. Based on the description of the problem over the phone, brought the needed part. Was upfront about how floor could potentially be scratched if oven had to be removed - fortunately it did not have to be pulled out. In addition to fixing the oven, gave some good advice about appliance maintenance.

The service was great. We were able to schedule an inspection in a short amount of time. He told me I needed a new oven without adding additional services, just the inspection fee. I was able to pay over the phone with a credit card. It was very convenient

Dryer was making bad noise-called Hometown Appliance after looking at Angie's List website. Called company. The service was done the next day. I called 3 other appliance service companies-used Hometown because of how I was treated when called to make an appointment for service.

They were very responsive and helpful. He managed our expectations very well and was able to diagnose the problem over the phone. He then brought the appropriate part to fix the refrigerator after properly diagnosing it over the phone.

They fixed the problem and the price was reasonable for what they did. I was happy with their work.

Well, I contacted the company in the morning and I explained to Holly the problem that existed with the refrigerator. It stopped the cooling on both the freezer and the perishable foods. She agreed to have someone service the problem the same day. Although they could not give an exact time due to another scheduled appointments, she assured me that someone would be at my home today. Joe called about 3pm to let me know that he was on his way to my home. Since he knew the make and model of my appliance and the explanation of the problem, he had the part in hand when he arrived at my door. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the problem. He took time to educate me on why the problem occurred and provided options if the problem resulted in another alternative. He also performed some preventive maintenance checks and installed a new water filter. It is very obvious that Joe takes much pride, care and is very passionate about his work. My overall experience of the service I received was fantastic. I would definitely refer his services to my friends. The cost of the services were reasonable especially considering getting same day service. I was not charged for service fee because I agreed to have him repair the the problem, however, I thought the service fee of 45.00 was reasonable. Most places charged $65.00 and up. They still include the charges in the overall cost if you decide to use their service.

Friday evening we put a load of clothes in the wash, and all seemed to be going fine, when suddenly the agitator stopped agitating. You could hear the motor, but everything had stopped moving. I turned the knob to the spin cycle to see if that would at least drain out the water, which it did, but the basket would not spin. I figured we would start searching for a repair service on Monday. I called "A Hometown Appliance Service" around noon on Monday. I explained to the lady that answered what the problem was. She took down my information and asked if I would hold while she checked on some appointment times. She came back on the line and said the technician could come that afternoon if I was available. I asked her what time, and she said since it was already noon, it would be sometime between noon and three. I said that would be great. She told me the technician would call before he came. Around 40 minutes later, at 12:40, Joe the technician called and said he was on his way and was about 20 minutes away. He showed up right on time, with a coupler(based on my description of the problem with my Whirlpool washer Joe suspected the coupler had worn down). He explained to me the problem that the Whirlpool factory installed couplers tend to have. He opened up the machine and looked at the coupler, showed it to me, and sure enough it was just as he described. He installed the new one, closed up the washer, and gave it a test run. It worked like a charm. I also asked him about the hot water line into the machine as it was dripping at the connection. He looked at it and used some teflon tape that I had to wrap onto the threads. No more drip. The whole experience was exceptionally pleasant. Joe is a knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly person. He explained the problem with the machine and what he had done to fix it. The lady on the phone(I don't know her name)was very friendly too. I recommend this company to anyone needing work done on their washing machine. They charge a $45 service call fee, but if you have them do the repair work, you don't pay that $45, just the parts and labor for the repair service(a lot of companies charge the service call fee on top of the parts and labor).

Called and they had someone out the next day. Respected our time window. Very professional and courteous. Also inspected and replaced belt that was getting worn.

After spending an evening bailing out my washing machine when it would not spin the water out of a completed load of laundry, I contacted A Hometown Appliance Service and a service call was promised for the next day. I checked midday to see approximately when the call would occur and got information about the likely time of the call. Joe phoned me when he was on the way to my house. He suspected what the problem was and after doing an assessment, he quickly repaired the machine. He didn't even mind that I watched over his shoulder while he was doing the repair!
