He was helpful and informative and although the labor he provided was not intensive, the information he provided was worth more than the $40. We will definitely call them next time we have an problem with one of our appliances.

Joe was on time, and the secretary called ahead to say he was on his way. He was extremely friendly. Man-to-man, one could tell he is an honest guy. Hometown Appliance runs their business from the good reviews they get on Angie's List. Therefore they can charge less because of less overhead.

I thought it was reasonable priced, very courteous and punctual. They were also informative.

Joe was very courteous, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with regarding trying to get our refrigerator installed. Even though he had to come out do to a miscommunication, he only charged us for the one day. He is extremely ethical and we will be using him again.

They were very friendly and he very was patient, for me watching him. The day after, I got a note in the mail thanking me for my business. I would use them again and recommend to them to a friend.

Job 1: 2 technicians came out together. They were very nice & professional. I asked to be called 30 min before their arrival & they did just that! After diagnosing the problem, they talked me through what was wrong & how they were going to fix it. I appreciated their punctuality & professionalism. Before calling Hometown Appliance, I compared them to others on Angie's List. I went w/Hometown because of their glowing references. I'm glad I did. Not quite sure how their price compares to others, but w/5 days before Christmas & a broken refrigerator - no time to shop around. Job 2: Joe is an excellent technician - very pleasant to talk with & very knowledgeable about appliances. Joe came out on a Thurs to assess the problem w/my washing machine. He was back in 24 hrs w/the necessary parts. Joe quoted me the price for 3 parts but only needed to use 2 parts. I appreciated his honesty in not fixing something that wasn't broken. I highly recommend A Hometown Appliance.

Joe was very friendly. Even though they were having telephone problems when we called, he returned the call quickly and arrived promptly. He gave us a great deal of general information about running the machine and maintaining it. He was pleasant and courteous, and we would not hesitate to call him again.

In all 3 instances a repairman came to my house I was impressed with their knowledge and also how quickly they responded. When Joe came to repair the microwave he was unsure that he could fix it. But he fiddled with it until he got it. That was last year it is still working just fine. With the fridge John knew exactly what the problem was right off the bat and it is still working fine. With the washer I was in an emergency situation I had water everywhere and John came right away and was honest with me. He told me that the tub was busted and that there were some other things that were not really worth fixing. I appreciated the fact that he did not just string me along for what ever he could get. I own my own business and I know that there is no better advertisement than word of mouth and this is exactly how you get people to call you the next time, By being honest and doing good work. This company is a shining example of this!!

It turned out that the transmission was leaking oil which was estimated to cost around 350 to replace. I opted to not have the repair done since the washer barely cost more than that. The repair man was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was a little later than expected but the call appointment was at the end of the day and he said he had some problems at a previous house, so that happens. He was still very friendly and willing to look at the washer instead of trying to reschedule.

The technician called when he was on his way, and was on time. He was pleasant and very polite.

We called this company on a Friday at 1pm, when the first company we scheduled days ago was a no show. They were able to come out within a few hours. Although no actual repair was necessary (it was our error) he was timely, friendly and knowledgeable. We will hire them again when something actually needs repaired!

They were wonderful. Joe came out the same day I called. I asked that they call before coming and they called both my work number and cell phone number. They did not have the necessary parts, but were willing to come back the following day - first or last house of the day, my choice. Joe called on the second day before coming as asked. Joe did an outstanding job - he even cleaned the dryer and checked the hose after the repair. He also checked to make sure my dryer was heating appropriately. He asked that I make sure both appliance were working appropriate before leaving. He showed me both parts which were replaced. I was impressed that the service call charge was waived if the repair was made. Joe automatically subtracted the Angie's List discount because I had mentioned I got his name from Angie's List - I didn't even have to ask. I strongly recommend A Hometown Appliance - they were wonderful.

Job 1: Joe was very professional, knowledegeable, friendly, and arrived in a timely manner. He even took off his shoes when entering our house and cleaned up the floor after completing the task. He also helped us to troubleshoot a problem with our dryer and assist in fixing it at no charge. We would definitely hire this company again. Job 2: Joe was very helpful and friendly. He gave good suggestions on what to look for in a new oven.

Call made on Sunday, April 2,2006. The company called me back early on Monday April 3, 2006, however I was able to make the repair between the time I called and they called back. I felt they were very responsive in the call back and very courteous when I told them the repair was no longer needed.

They were able to come out the same day because of a cancellation. Very professional. Will call them again.

Overall the experience was very good. He was very nice and polite. He cleaned up after the work.

This was a great experience. Joe was terrific to have working in my home. His communication is great. He always kept me informed of the progress, worked cleanly. They even replaced the exterior dryer exhaust vent at no charge. I will not hesitate to call Hometown Appliance in the future.

Called to company on Thursday and they came out on Friday. Needed to order a part. They offered to return later in the day on Friday but due to my schedule that wouldn't work. They were out promptly Monday morning as agreed. Very helpful in explaining various aspects of what and why they were doing. Very Satisfied!

I called A Hometown Appliance Service, and they explained that they did not service my area, but they gave me the utmost in customer service and were very friendly and understanding.

A friendly, prompt technician fixed the washer and left. I started a load of laundry and left the house. I returned to a flooded home. I called the company, no answer. I had a company come extract the water, which flooded my main floor including the MBR and the basement. The next day the technician returned my calls of the night before. Before even coming back to my house, he said 'well it was working fine when I left...'. I immediately contacted the manager. As it turns out, the hose was not properly reattached to the pump. When he realized that, the technician explained to me that 'sometimes these things happen', still acting as if it was unrelated to the service call. Three times he tried to convince me it was unrelated. The mgr was more professional and opened a claim with his insurance company to cover 100% of the damage. After all I went through, I expected him to suggest that the service call be free, but no. I paid $130 to have my home flooded and my life disrupted.

This is the second time I have used Joe's company. We could not be more pleased with his fair and friendly treatment. His knowledge of appliances is excellent, and he incorporates some teaching into the repair work- which I appreciate.

This company is fabulous! Holly, the receptionist, was very helpful and pleasant on the phone. Carlos Starks, the technician, was polite, honest, and knowledgeable. Carlos listened carefully. He was thorough in his assessment and verified it with the owner. Carlos took the time to explain the real problem and what the problem wasn't. While sharing concerns about my dryer, he offered to look at it. Carlos told me that dryers are only designed to blow air 20 feet and the way my house was designed it was at the 20 ft. limit, so I needed to keep my dryer vent to the outside clean to get the most out of my dryer. He went into detail explaining everything. The lint and dirt in my vent were packed tightly, and I could have had a fire. He cleaned the vent. It was full of lint. I was very grateful, and now am wiser in caring for my washer and dryer. My charge only included the $35 service call and a charge for cleaning the vent. If repaired, the service charge. Would be waived.

We called, and they came out to fix it the same day. The service technician, Carlos, was very nice and even told us of a potential issue with our drier. Great experience!
