From start to finish, Potter Overhead Door did an exceptional job in the replacement of my garage door. They were quick to provide an estimate and schedule an installation date. They were even able to give me the exact information I needed to buy house paint that would match the new door. Jack and his fellow technician (Tim, I believe) were extremely proficient in the installation, did a thorough clean-up, provided maintenance instructions and made sure that the garage door opener was working properly before they left. I called on a weekday morning to get information and schedule someone to come out for measurements for replacement of a garage door and garage door opener for our home. I called soon after they opened and spoke to a woman who said she had a meeting and asked if she could call me back later. Due to the nature of my job, it's difficult for me to answer the phone so I told her I would call back later. I called back 3 hours later and spoke to a guy, who didn't know answers to my questions and said I needed to talk to someone else who wasn't there at the moment. Then I called again a few hours later and spoke to another guy. He was more helpful. When he asked what city I lived in, I told him, and he said there were people in that city all day today, and wish I had called earlier because now it would be a few days before they could get out there again. I told him that I did call later but the woman I talked to didn't have time to talk to me. Since it's much easier for my husband to meet with people due his and mine work hours, I told the man I would have my husband call to set up the appointment. When my husband called, he talked to a woman, probably the first woman I talked to. When he said what city we live in (Beachwood), she said that was far away from them and drifted off. My husband said it wasn't that she was rude, but she sounded like she didn't want our business. So after 4 phone calls, we couldn't even get a quote. I think I'm being generous with grading them as "fair" instead of bad or lousy.

We decided to go with Potter door over other quotes, because we got a little bit better door and opener for the price. The workers were great and came on time and answered all the questions we had. So far so good.

Right from the start I felt comfortable speaking with the representative. During my initial call she answered all my questions regarding the choice between a repair or a replacement option. At no time did I feel they were trying to "sell" me or were pushy. In fact I was informed of the specials they had running! I felt a genuine sense they wanted to help. My current opener was installed without the modern day safety precautions and I didn't have an outside key pad so weighing my options I decided to replace the unit. They were very accommodating to my schedule. The technician came out during this very cold eight degree weather and explained what was wrong with my current opener and I decided again to go ahead with the new access system. The work was completed quickly and the techician reviewed how to operate the opener, key pad, inside wall control, sensors and safety features. He had to be freezing but took his time to be sure I understood the features of the system. I appreciated the time and the care he took making sure I knew how it all worked. I was amazed at his knowledge of my older unit, as well, and after speaking with the technician I felt I made the right choice to replace rather than repair. I appreciated being able to come to that decision on my own without feeling any pressure. I would definitely recommend Potter Overhead Door to anyone wanting a honest, knowledgeable, and professional company and conversation regarding your garage door issues.

Called this morning and the job was done by 12 noon - can't ask for anything better than that. Very nice guys - professional and answered questions. Had Potter replace the springs once before. The Potter springs lasted about ten years. Then had another door company replace the springs but the springs only lasted three years. Went back to Potter Overhead Door. I took advantage of $10 off coupon.

We could not shut the garage door and they were able to come out the same day I called. That was very prompt of them. When they got to the house he was very professional and informative. I would call them again and recommend them to anyone. Thank you Potter Overhead Doors, Inc.

I first spoke with Jeff to get an idea of the options and cost. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions. I told him I needed to do my own research as well, he was very OK with that and not pushy at all. I called back the next day to setup the appointment. Jeff had to check the schedule and got back to me in a timely manner. Install day comes, they called ahead, and with one guy were in and out in just over an hour. He also took the time to answer my questions. I would not hesitate to call them for any concern big or small in the future. I highly recommend them. It's never a good time to have your garage opener go out on you, but my Potter Door experience made it a blip on the radar in the big picture. More companies need to be ran like them.

Called Potter Door around 10:00am on Fri. they showed up around 2:15pm.The two guys that came out were very nice. It took them around one hour to replace two springs. Called another company who quoted a lower price, but could not come out until Mon. Nothing better than same day service, job well done!

It was a very good experience. They are very good about communicating and they call back when they say they would. They also call before they come, about a half and hour and they call you if they are running late. They are not pushy, when he looked at the door. He could have easily offered a new door, but he was very honest and told me I still have a little time on this garage door. I appreciated his honesty.

We have done business with Potter in the past and that's why we went back to them. When I called the first week of Nov they were pretty backed up but said they would get to it within 3 weeks which they did. Kelly who I spoke with knows so much and explained to me about the garage door she felt would best fit my needs.She is so professional and so very nice she helped so much with this. Jim came to temporarily fix my broken spring so we could use the garage door then took measurements and placed the order.We have dealt with Jim before and he is also very nice and tells you what he is going to do. On Nov. 26th Bill and Sam arrived to install the door. They worked diligently and were very professional. We spoke more with Sam who showed us how to maintain the door and other things we needed to know. He was very nice and took the time to explain everything to us. The garage door looks amazing. We had the original which was the wooden old version and now wow what a difference! A great job with great clean up. I would recommend them for any of your garage door needs.

I currently have a lot of work going on at my property so I deal with a lot of contractors and the people at Potter Overhead Door have been by far the best I have worked with so far. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend them if you are in need of any garage door work. I had been working with a different contractor who had been referred to me by a friend for almost 6 weeks to have a new door installed and when I finally got fed up with him I called Potter. I called to set up an appointment for an estimate and Jeff walked me through the whole process over the phone and was even able to give me a very accurate figure on the cost. I was very very impressed by this as most contractors I call for estimates refuse to tell me anything over the phone regardless of how much information I give them about the installation I am looking for. The technician who arrived to inspect the old door and create the official estimate was very knowledgeable of the type of door that was installed and how to work around the several issues that my particular installation would have to handle. He suggested several options that I had not considered and made me feel comfortable that my job would not be a problem. The official estimate came in just slightly (about $100) higher than the previous contractor but for a much higher quality door. This estimate was almost spot on with the phone estimate Jeff had given me when I set up the appointment. The day before the installation appointment, Jeff called to verify and remind me of the appointment and communication through the whole process was excellent, I had no questions left unanswered. I had a few issues with access to the working area on the day of the appointment which were my fault, but regardless, I was assured that it would not be a problem. The technicians who showed up to do the job were happy to give me a hand moving things out of the way which were too large for me to move on my own even though it was my fault that they were still in the way. They were friendly and professional and worked extremely quick. The entire job took just a few hours and I was actually shocked when they came to tell me they were done, I was expecting quite a bit longer. The door looks great and everything went as I had been led to believe it would. Considering that most of the contractors I call don't call back or miss appointments and generally act like they don't care if they get my business or not, I would have been happy with just having the job done, but I was very very impressed by the way the people at Potter Overhead Door conducted themselves. They made sure to communicate everything from start to finish with me and ensured that I knew every detail of the job so nothing was left to chance. From my perspective, they treated me like my job and satisfaction was the most important item on their schedule, which is not something you find very often these days, and that says a lot to me about them as a company and individuals. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I have ordered new parts and will replace the disconnect key switch myself. Since I have other electrical work to be done I will call an electrician for the rest.

I needed a panel taken out that was solid. They placed the new panel with a window which I wanted. Told me to keep the old panel for just in case later on down the road. They were very kind and courteous. Prompt service and on time. Another time I needed my garage door opener fixed. They took care of it. Very nice people I recommend them and will also call on them for any future needs.

They came out to install the door on a weekday. I was there for half of the installation since I had to be somewhere. They replaced the railings and the bearings along with the door. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure the door was working perfectly with my already existing automatic garage door opener. I have never had any issues with the door since installation. I would definitely hire them again.

Company had to custom order a panel for my garage door then schedule time for install. Installer arrived on time and got the job done quickly. Also took some time to look at the tension setting and explain features available on newer systems. I was impressed that he took the time to inspect my equipment instead of rushing on to the next job.

No complaints, we have used them for about 15 years. They have never had to come back to do redo anything. Everything was done right the first time.

I am very pleased with the service provided by Potter Overhead Door. I got a few quotes from other garage door competitors in the area and Potter's price was on par with the other competitors. That just showed me that they care enough about their business and services to respond and take to heart the comments that Angie's list members write. The customer service at Potter was very professional. I spoke mostly with Jeff on the phone and then with Kelly a couple of times. They answered all of my questions on the phone. And they even called to notify me, prior to the day of installation, of a manufacturing defect in the openers I had ordered, so they upgraded my openers at no extra cost. The installation of my new doors went very smoothly. Bill and his crew did a great job. The doors are very attractive and the openers are so quiet! They came back about a week later and installed a key pad entry. And don't forget to print your Angie's list coupons; it saved me a total of $80, which paid for my key pad entry! No hassles with the coupons either. I am really happy I chose Potter Overhead Door. I will continue to be a patron of their company if ever I need garage door services in the future.
