They went out of their way to help us out and to meet our time needs. Fixing the problem spots before winter helped us keep the repairs to the minimum. In the spring the completed the job just as they said.

They did a very nice job. We had a couple of challenges including leveling to an existing garage floor and two new sidewalks, one stone and one concrete. They paid excellent attention to drainage and did virtually no damage to plantings that edged the new asphalt. The crew was professional and the work was completed in a timely manner. We called early in the season to schedule and got "on thier list." Once they started the work it took about a week or so from start to finish. This was possible because our driveway bed was already very compacted. We would recommend them to anyone looking to have their asphalt driveway replaced.

Good communication all the way by Mr. Howe. Experienced crew worked efficiently, quickly, expertly with very good results.

Delays were caused by rain. Mr. Howe stated that he would honor the contract price even if the work had to be postponed to the following year. After the pavement had a chance to settle, I had a friend who had retired from the paving business to inspect the work. He was more than satisfied. Very professional workers.

The owner of the company, Julius Howe answered our online request for an estimate promptly. He gave us several different bids based on different scenarios we wanted to consider. He returned twice to discuss our situation. Once we signed a contract, Julius had his crew on the job within one week. The crew leader was very courteous and helpful throughout the entire job. They had to remove 850 feet of old, broken asphalt, prepare the sub surface, and reinstall new asphalt. In addition to the replace asphalt driveway, they also installed a "french drain" in a section of our driveway where water run-off had been an issue. Julius returned twice to check to see that the jobs were to our satisfaction. We were very pleased with the entire process, the owner, his crew leader, his crew, and the final products. We highly recommend this company.

Asked for a driveway replacement quote by email, stating that my preferred contact method was email. Sherry emailed back that she had sent it to Julius and he would drive by and they would mail a quote. I replied that I would like the amount sent to me by email. It took about a week and a half until I received the quote in the mail, no email. I emailed back that they were too late (they should use email, not snail mail) and the quote was $800 over the company I went with.

Very nice quality and very courteous over the phone. Never met any of the staff who did the work. Price is a little higher than others but probably worth it.

They did a good job. They were very neat, and it turned out as well as it could.

His honesty and character was very refreshing. I will defiantly give him a call if I ever need asphalt work done.

They were a little slow to come because they were so busy, but they did a really good job, especially sealing all the cracks. Got other bids and they were also the lowest price.

It was their compound that interested me the most. They had a detailed description of the materials they would use. It took some time to schedule an appointment due to weather. They did not call me immediately after they received my contract to confirm an appointment. I had to follow up with them and they told me it would be another 2 to 3 weeks. When they finally came to perform the work they did a great job. They were quick, efficient, and clean. They left no mess behind. Three employees came to perform the work and it took about 20 minutes to complete. I am very satisfied with the work. I would recommend their services.

At 8 AM on Oct.10th six men appeared at the house from the Julius Howe Company with machinery to dig up and install a new driveway. It took them only 3 hours to create a handsome new driveway. The skill and professional quality of the work was admirable, a fine blend of men and machines. An impressive job!

Everything went very well. Because of spring/early summer rains the contractor was very busy and juggling multiple jobs at the same time. I had his cell phone number and calls were answered or returned. When a date was set they were there on time and did a great job.

They did excellent work at a very reasonable price. It was a big job because they also had to rebuild a part of the driveway that passed over a creek. I was very pleased with the work they did. They have done work for me a number of times.

Our job with Julius C Howe Asphalt & Concrete Sealing went well and it turned out very well. I'm happy with the product. We bid out three different companies and I felt the most confident with Julius with his technical knowledge and ways of explaining the work which he was very good with. It turned out that the ground was softer than they expected and it required an extra 20-30 tons of gravel. He never once told me it would cost more and since he never said anything about it I figured it wasn't a big deal and wouldn't cost too much more. Well when we got the bill there was an extra $1500 on it for the gravel and an extra 2 days worth of labor. I told him that since he did not communicate the problem to me that I would pay for the product but not the two days extra of gravel. Otherwise the driveway was great and we were happy.

I called four separate companies for bids. Howe was both the lowest and best quality bid. Work was delayed last fall due to inclement weather. Howe would not pave until there were sufficient sunny days for the pavement to cure. If the weather had remained bad, he would have postponed the job until the spring, but would have maintained the price on the original contract. Everything was neatly cleaned when the job was done. After the work was complete, I asked a friend of mine who used to be in the business to inspect the work. He concluded that the job was well done.

Good Overall, however, they charged me $1,400 more (nearly 40% more) than their estimate of $2,100 without notifying me that costs were exceeding their estimate. When I questioned them about it, the owner stated that they were new to paving residential driveways and there was more layers of old asphalt under our driveway than they realized. As a result, they had to backfill with several tons more crushed limestone than they estimated. He agreed to come down $400 on their price since they never notified me of the cost increase. In the end, their price was competitive with our estimates I had gotten.

Was prompt in giving me a bid. He gave me a price, but thought the whole segment needed to be totally redone, rather than just adding the new asphalt to it. I felt the price was a little high. He never followed up with me.

Called for a quote and received one by mail a week later. I had questions about the quote and Julius took the time to answer them when I called back. Julius told me that the driveway was beyond repair and resealing would not do anything to protect it. I appreciated his honesty and will probably use him next year to overlay my driveway.

GREAT JOB. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. PROVIDED ESTIMATE, COMPETITIVELY PRICED, CAME OUT WHEN PROMISED, WORK WAS THOROUGH, LEFT EVERYTHING LOOKING AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN WHEN THEY STARTED, EXCELLENT JOB. WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT.

I HAD TO FIGHT WITH THEM TO GET THEM TO DO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD JOB. I KNOW QUITE A BIT ABOUT ASPHALT ( I AM AN ENGINEER) AND I FEEL LIKE THEY WERE BLOWING ME OFF A LITTLE BIT. I HAD TO PUSH ON THEM TO COME BACK AND DO IT TO MY SATISFACTION. IT TURNED OUT OKAY, SO I GIVE THEM A 'B' IN QUALITY. THEY WOULD SET APPOINTMENTS AND THEN SHOW UP EARLIER WHEN WE WEREN'T HERE A DO THE WORK. IF THEY HAD COME WHEN I WAS THERE, I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO CALL THEM BACK. I TOLD THEM I WANTED TO BE THERE WHEN THEY PERFORMED THE WORK, AND THEY NEVER CAME WHEN I WAS HERE. SO, THAT IS WHY I GIVE THEM A 'C' IN PUNCTUALITY.

VERY NICE WOMAN ANSWERED THE PHONE AND TALKED WITH ME. SHE TOLD ME RIGHT AWAY THAT THEY ARE INUNDATED WITH WORK WHICH WILL CARRY THEM THROUGH THE SEASON. SHE RECOMMENDED THAT I CALL THEM IN THE SPRING IF I STILL WANT THEM TO DO THE REPAVING JOB ON MY DRIVEWAY SO I CAN GET ON THEIR SCHEDULE.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS THIS TYPE OF WORK DONE. I AM NOW IN THEIR FILES. EVERY TWO YEARS THEY WILL SEND NOTIFICATION THAT IT IS TIME TO RESEAL MY DRIVEWAY, AND THEY WILL COME OUT TO DO IT.
