He was very professional, and explained in detail everything to me.

I called Wagner Home Improvement due to its positive reviews on Angie's List for an estimate and then repair for my roof. The receptionist quickly told me "we are 2 to 3 weeks out on jobs." I then asked for a recommendation of another roofing company and was told "you're going to just have to call around." NOT friendly or helpful in any way.

A hail storm swept through Marblehead, Ohio on July 1, 2012 doing significant damage to my summer cottage and the homes and structures in the surrounding area. The area looked like a war zone after the storm had passed. After contacting my insuracne company, I needed to begin looking for reputable contractors to repair all the damage -- which was significant. All in all, the damage sustained was in the neighborhood of $22,000 plus vehicle damages. The hail storm left me with having to replace the siding, roof, windows, doors, gutters and downspouts and a large awning. I didn't know where to begin to try and find a reputable contractor. Storm chasers were already descending on us and I wanted nothing to do with them. I did know that I wanted to find one contractor who could handle all the repairs instead of dealing with mulitple contractors for each item. The Saturday morning after the storm, I was introduced to Larry and Jan Wagner ... owners of Wagner Home Improvement. They were visiting my neigbhors who also sustained major damage and were taking measurements and gathering information in order to prepare repair estimates for them. My neighbors have known Jan and Larry for many years and spoke very highly of them not only as business associates but friends as well. I took an immediate liking to Jan and Larry and soon we were discussing repairs taking measurements etc. to prepare an estimate. I was so impressed with Larry and Jan, that I didn't even bother getting other estimates. I did satisfy my curiosity my looking on Angie's List to see what comments were made regarding Wagner Home Improvement. There was page after page of glowing positive reports and very few negative comments. I was sold, and after receiving the estimate from Larry Wagner, signed the contract to proceed with the work. The work began in late August and everything was completed by the last week of September. I am a person who prefers to be present when work is done and I asked Larry if he could possibly work around my schedule. He did just that everytime and all of the reconstruction work went smoothly and professionally. Since I had so much work done, there were several crews doing different repairs. Every one of Larry's employees -- Randy, Dave, Jeff, Eddie, Cassidy etc. was friendly, courteous, professional and went out of their way to make sure the job was done flawlessly. They worked together as a team and their teasing of each other showed much respect and camaraderie. I was also impressed that Larry was often on the job with his crews working along side of them. They were perfectionists and made sure that everything was completed perfectly. I really didn't need to be there! They protected carpeting, flooring, landscape etc. making sure that you wouldn't even know that they had been there and always cleaned up after themselves hauling away all constuction debris. I am so glad that I used my best intincts to hire Larry and his crew to do all of the repair work. I could not have asked for a better company or crew to do the work. It was done on time and in a very professional manner. Both Jan and Larry communicated with me when they would be doing which repair and made sure that it met my schedule. What a great company! What great people! You can't go wrong by using Wagner Home Improvement for your home improvement needs... they are and outstanding company!

.Crew Foreman was Dave. He is outstanding to work with and his attention to detail is terrific. Everything went excellently, including cleanup. Company initial contact/, estimator,/ coordinator/ Owner's Rep was Randy. He,also, is great to work with. Jan runs the office and was helpful to us as we decided what color roofing we wanted. She was also very helpful in submitting paperwork to our insurance company to complete the costing for this hail damage claim.

The big crew was very business-like and polite. They did very good clean up - couldn't tell they were there!

I called on a Friday to ask for an estimate. An appointment was scheduled for next Wednesday. Randy came out for the estimate. He did a thorough inspection of the roof from the outside as well as inspecting the underside within the attic. I already knew the roof was poorly ventilated and had damaged plywood decking. I wanted all the plywood removed and replaced to give me a good base for a new roof. He agreed that it would be worthwhile and that a sporacide would be sprayed on the rafters once the old plywood was removed to help kill any residual mold spores. Also, foam baffles would be fitted in over the insulation at the eaves so that the new soffit ventilation would not be blocked off. He answered all of my questions about the materials that would be used and how they would be installed. I was very impressed. Randy also provided me with addresses of recent roofing jobs nearby with the color of the shingles, so that I could see the appearance from the street. I signed the contract on 6/21/12 and also took home some sample boards of different color shingles to make my color selection.On Monday 7/16, the roofing crew showed up about 8:45 AM. Jim and Louie were the crew leaders. There were a total of 6 guys that day. The tearoff began. They started on the back and replaced the decking before moving to the side. They had the side stripped and redecked by the time I left for work that afternoon. The next morning they arrived early, at 7:15 AM because the day was going to get hot. I noticed that the two sides redecked on Monday had already been shingled. The crew numbered 7 on Tuesday and as in the previous day they worked relentlessly like a well rehearsed team. By 1:45 PM they had everything done, had the place all cleaned up and were done with the roofing portion of the job. On Wednesday 7/25, the two man soffit crew showed up. First they removed the old gutters and downspouts. Then onto the soffit work. Good guys, one worked off the plank, cutting out the old wood soffit and doing the install, while the other cut all the pieces to size and bent up the aluminum to cover the fascia. They were on the last side by the time I left for work that afternoon. On Friday 7/27, the gutter crew arrived, 3 guys. Younger guy was on roof to attach the new gutters, while one formed up new gutters and the other lifted up for installation and fitted downspouts. They finished in about 2 hours. The house looks great now. The workmanship was top notch by all three crews. I got exactly what I was looking for, quality materials, installed properly and at a fair price.

This is my situation: we need a gutter tune-up on a three story house. Some of our gutters are detaching from the house. I will fully admit, we do not regularly clean our gutters. I did not know how often they were supposed to be cleaned, twice a year, I've since learned. The woman I spoke with was very nice, but told me that Wagner Home Improvement would not take the job because we have not properly maintained our gutters and our house is three stories. That's fine, that's great for Wagner that they are busy and diverse enough to turn away customers. But i would suggest removing gutter repair & replacement from the list of services Wagner provides if customers need to meet such specific criteria (i.e. house cannot be three stories, gutters must be properly maintained) before you perform the service. I did a search for gutter repair here on angie's list and Wagner came up in the search results with glowing reviews. Where should I look if I really need gutter repair done?

Randy Sindelar and Larry Wagner worked with us to ensure all problem areas were addressed. The team of guys climbing the ladders and hammering the shingles were EXCELLENT! They were courteous, professional, and cleaned up at the end of the day!

Due to confusion on our part they come three times to job and to do work. There were gracious and charitable. Good people!

I had originally had the roof put on about 19 years ago and discovered a leak on the lower part of the roof. They came out, checked it out and repaired the leak without any charge. It hasn't leaked since. I plan on having a new roof put on in the next couple years and plan on using them again,

They were informative and easy to talk to.

I had an excellent experience with them except for one small thing. They were going to get back with a quote for additional work, and I bugged them and bugged them. They finally came out, but they never got back with a quote because it was just a small job. I don?t think they wanted to kill me, but they were not interested in doing the job. Everything else went well, and they did an excellent job with the roofing. I had originally rated this company as a B as they had not responded to me regarding additional work. While it is commendable that a company can continue to maintain a good work record, I think it speaks volumes that a company that recognizes an error and steps up to the window the way Larry Wagner did for the quality and integrity of the company. Once Mr. Wagner became aware of the oversight of his staff, he went to the extreme to ensure my satisfaction in a prompt and timely manner. I would recommend this company highly and would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you and your staff Larry.

Randy did a thorough job before estimating the cost and scheduled the job. They use their own personnel, who were very professional. Wagner had done roofs for two daughters of mine and they were very satisfied.

I signed the contract in late January with the understanding that they would not start the job until the weather was warmer. The work was started May 8,2012 and completely done on May16,2012. The crew ( Jerry & Ed ) worked will as a team ,when they talked it was at a normal lever and almost aways about work,they did listen to the radio but it was only loud enough to heard when you were near it.They were constantly working with the only breaks at lunch.Each night they cleaned the area and removed any trash produced that day.

Very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend this company. T'he price was good, the communication was very good, and the crew polite and thoughtful. Not a single problem on the job. Use this company.

This company is wonderful. Randy is the person who came out for intial estimate. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Whenever I had any questions Randy would return my calls quickly. He was never pushy. In fact, the first time he came out he told my roof was good for the next 3 years. The crew was wonderful. They did a great job. They were kind and curtious. They left the yard spotless. They took a lot of pride in their work. They were a great group to work with. I recommend this company to anyone looking to get roofing problems fixed.

In April 2011, a flat rubber roof on a room of a home I own was damaged by a windstorm. I called Wagner Home Improvement because I had used them before and had had a good experience. I spoke with Jan and explained the situation and arranged for Randy, their roofer, to come and secure the roof until the actual repair could be made (this would involve my insurance co.). Randy came and did an excellent job examining the roof for all damage that had occurred and then fixing shingles and tarping the roof. The insurance adjuster was even very impressed with how much care was taken to provide an effective, non-leaking temporary fix. Due to several factors that had nothing to do with Wagner Home Improvement, this project became quite complicated and consequently, the roof repair had to be delayed for several months. In the meantime, Randy worked with me to secure parts I needed to replace the damanged metal chimney from the wood stove. Because another contractor would be needed to install the new chimney and this had to be coordinated with the roof installation, Randy worked directly with the chimney contractor to work out those details. The roof was installed in an excellent manner by Randy and his crew. I can't say enough about the professionalism and attention to detail shown by Wagner Home Improvement. I had to contact them many times about the issues that delayed their part of the project and Jan and Randy and Larry were always so nice. Randy went above and beyond what I would have expected anyone to do, helping me get information about the chimney, actually ordering the parts and then playing phone tag with the chimney contractor to coordinate everything. It all when off without a hitch. He was very thorough and made sure the roof was done right. He explained everything to me and then did everything that needed to be done. Everyone is so nice at Wagner and I never once doubted their work or price. I highly recommend Wagner Home Improvement. The service and quality or workmanship is outstanding. I will continue to use this company.

Randy gave us an excellent plan & cost. The roofers did a fantastic job. Replacing the roof, new flashing, gutter re-attached, cleaned everything up.

This was a very minor job, as far as fee was concerned - but because water was leaking into the house, winter snow was now possible and I was slated for surgery I really wanted to get this fixed. I was assured it would done personally. After a week, I called and left a message not to forget us. No response. I was surprised as the firm's record was good, but I feel the proper thing to do, if they became busy with more important jobs, to at least call and say they can't fulfill the quote or better yet not even say they will do the job- so others can be contacted immediately before water damage becomes a problem. This may not have been the case, but the impression is there higher bid jobs move ahead of yours.

They did an excellent job. The quality of the work and timeliness was great. Everything was just excellent.
