Precision Overhead Garage Door

I have an old farmhouse so it was difficult to choose a door that would really set off the house. The gentleman from Precision helped me pick out a door and he installed it. It turned out beautifully. The house really stands out and I have gotten lots of compliments on it.

Extremely responsive and professional service. After determining that the opener was malfunctioning, I contacted Precision and the owner, Jim Boland, was able to assign a technician who responded within one hour of my call. The technician, Brad Buzzelli, was very skilled and efficient in removing the damaged unit, installing the replacement, and adjusting the opener for proper operation. I would definitely utilize this company for any garage door related services in the future.

Our torsion spring cracked in half. We called Precision the next day. The gentleman answering the phone patiently took my details. We were offered a service appointment the same day and we accepted. The gentleman who came to our home was professional, to the point, and helpful. The work took around a hour. We feel he did a great job and represented Precision well. The price was reasonable for this type of work, particularly on short notice. That they offered this Anglie's List member a discount was certainly a plus as well. We would recommend this company to anyone requiring work on their garage door.

Everything went very well. Our new garage door opener is excellent and from the warranty that they offer I will never have to buy another garage opener again. The service was prompt and professional. Company was very quick to set up appointment for tech to come and take a look at our old garage door and opener that we wanted to replace. Tech was on time and bragged about company's quality and his reputation. He promised to follow up with a detailed estimate but NEVER did. We went with a smaller local company that followed up with a same day estimate and then ordered and installed new door and opener for us.

The technician showed up almost 35 minutes earlier than the quoted time. He was very knowledgable and friendly. We were told that it was unusual for a 6-year-old garage door spring to break, but that this was likely contributed to by other factors -- he examined all of the hardware and recommended certain parts to be replaced. We decided to follow his recommendation and replaced all of the hardware on the garage door. He worked quickly and was done within an hour and was very courteous during the whole process.

The repairman was prompt and efficient. He fixed several parts on the door, and we were pleased with the service.

Door would not go up. Called them early in am and they came within the hour, got the door up and found that spring was broken. Repaired within two hours at price that I could not go beyond ($200). Excellent work.

The inspected my current opener, advised the price to repair the current opener & ultimately replaced our old opener with a new opener. I called Precision to come out to take a look at my old Lift Master opener to determine why it was no longer opening the door. After inspecting it, they felt one of the boards on the opener was burnt out. He advised it would likely be $200 to replace just the board. He recommended replacing the opener since it was 15 years old. My wife and I discussed it, and although it was a bit more than we had intended on spending, we agreed to replace the opener. The main feature that attracted us to decide to buy was the lifetime warranty (providing the problem is not ?Acts of God? or human caused). While the technician was replacing the opener, he suggested we consider replacing the door spring. We declined to have that replaced. We really like the opener now. It?s very quiet, is no-maintenance and the coolest feature I found was being able to stop the opener ?mid-stream? with the remote.

We had bent the track our garage door runs in & misaligned the safety sensors of the garage door when we ran into them with our car backing out. I called Precision door to come out and give me an estimate to fix the problem. I told the person taking my call that I want the technician discuss the estimate with me before proceeding. Unfortunately I was not home when the technician arrived but he had contacted me before coming over. I told him when I would be home. When I arrived home, he had already repaired the problem without getting anyone?s approval to do so. Further, he charged me their normal service rate and charged more than the Angie?s list rate. I discussed the cost with my wife and we agreed we should pay him but were also thankful it was not too expensive. The technician also pointed out some cracking on our garage doors and indicated the doors would need to be replaced soon. This is the second time the company has tried to point out something wrong with our garage doors, openers or springs in attempt to make more money off of us. While their recommendations may be true, I am beginning to question these additional services they are recommending. To me it seems like they are using the ?Would you like fries with that?? approach. If we need a new opener on our other garage door, I am still likely to use this company but if any work is needed on our 2 garage doors not covered under this company?s warranty I am unlikely to call them again. I would also suggest that other list members get 2 or 3 companies to provide opinions and estimates of work before proceeding with Precision. UPDATE: I did meet with the owner of the company and do agree with the good will gester. As such, I?m changing my overall grade of the company and the price grade from ?C? to a ?B?. I thank the owner for taking time to read the report and to respond so quickly.

I contacted Precision Door about this issue and there was a miscommunication and nobody ever got back to me. When I submitted a dissatisfied report on Angie's List the company was quick to get in touch with me. They bent over back wards to make the situation right. They came out and made the repair on their own dime. They were incredibly professional and courteous. They have been great with providing me further assistance. Our original door is no longer being made, they were very generous and replaced the entire door. They stood behind their workmanship. The owner's came out and looked at the issue, the problem was repaired, and the garage door has been working beautifully ever since. They have made themselves a lifelong business contact of mine.

I had two options, to replace with a single-spring or replace with their system which has a lifetime warranty. I had them repair it with their system which means that the cables are bigger and it is a double-spring system which is more suitable for a two-car garage and balances the pressure equally. They came out on a Sunday which I appreciated.

Arrived when said. Door looks great, they had to customize the Haas Door with some other company's windows which we liked. The motor is VERY quiet and the master bedroom floor does not vibrate anymore like it did with old motor/operator!

They were quite good. They were quick to respond and always got here quickly. The opener is wonderful. It is almost silent and I like it a lot. They were very good.

We have used Precision before and they are prompt, professional, courteous and affordable. The serviceman was out right when they said he would be (they said between 11 and 1 and he was here right around 11) and had the problem diagnosed and fixed within 30 minutes!

I have a two car garage with openers on both doors that needed new controllers due age and use over the past 15 or so years. The service man arrived within 10 minuets of the scheduled appointment. I explained the work I wanted done and he offered options form replacing the controllers to replacing the opener systems. I wanted to take some time to research these options and he agreed to call back later in the day. After finding more information and reviews on the opener system he recommended, I decided to go with the new opener systems. We set up an appointment for the next morning and again he arrived at the time we set. The installation was completed within the estimated time. He disposed of the old opener systems, cleaned up and went over all aspects of operation. I am very pleased with the quality of the opener system they recommended and the work performed.

Brian was prompt and courteous. After assessing the condition of our garage door, he provided us with three options that would correct our problem. After my wife and I made a choice, he began work immediately. Less than 90 minutes later, our garage door functioned better than when we first moved into our home. Upon completion of the job, Brian walked us through our new torsion system, reminded us of the warranty that comes with a Precision Door Service installation, and politely declined the tip we tried to offer him for his fine work. Brian was a class act from start to finish and perfomed professional grade work. We would recommend Precision Door Service of Cleveland, without reservation, to anyone with needs similar to our own.

They did everything. I had called them because when I tried to open my garage door, it was making a grinding noise. It wouldn?t stop and it wouldn?t close, either. I called the company I had used earlier. He told me that he wouldn?t be able to come out until two days later. He told me that he would charge me $170 for him to just come out. So, I called Precision Garage Door. He came out and he told me that he couldn?t get parts to replace the opener, as it was too old. So, he had to get a new one. He also told me that the garage door itself needed work done on it. Some of the parts needed to be replaced. The job was costing me $1214. I thought the entire process was expensive. Also, I didn?t know if the garage door needed all that work in the first place. It was a weekend and I had to do something. My son called a couple of other places, but couldn?t get any help. So, I told the guy to go ahead with the work. He worked on it for a couple of hours and fixed it. Now, my garage door opens without any noise. It is almost silent. Later, I had a problem with something and I called him back. He came out and explained things to me. He was very responsive. He told me that I have a life time guarantee on the opener. So, if anything happens, all I have to do is call him and he will come out to take care of it. The work was very good, but I think it was expensive. He gave me a breakup, with all the parts that he had replaced. He was punctual and professional. He didn?t leave until he had completed the work. He seemed to know what he was doing. He told me that he has been doing the work for 14 years. Also, the company is reputed. I?ll use them again in the future.

Following a couple of weeks researching and getting several quotes on replacement of two 7x8 residential doors and openers, Jim came out promptly and quoted for the complete work. What was refreshing was his polite professionalism and the detailed explanation to all the work that would be required and the system he would recommend installing. He didn't try to heavy sell us equipment, accessories or 'over-the-top' doors, but rather the most suitable system for our needs, and the doors that would compliment the overall look of our home. Although not the lowest quote we received, my wife and I were sold on the total system performance and life-time warranty, and also Jim's well-mannered nature. Once the doors were ordered and arrived, Jim immediately scheduled the installation date that was suitable with us. The complete system; doors, openers, key-access, weather strip, was all installed in the morning and he hauled away the old bulky doors. The finished doors look amazing! and the openers are whisper silent. Great job from Jim and I would definitely recommend him to family and friends!

They said I did not need any repair on my door and did very minor adjustments under some sort of service agreement that they have which cost me nothing. I was very happy with them. They came out promptly, diagnosed the problem and fixed it for free. The person I dealt with was extremely professional.

He was very professional, polite and fast. He tested it several times before he left to ensure it was operating correctly.

I called at about 10:30 in the morning. They said they could be at my house between 11a-1p. The serviceman arrived at about 1:05. He was polite and knowledgeable. He was able to get the job done in less than an hour. I just thought it was kind of pricey for the amount of work done. But I'm glad to have my garage door fixed!

He was very prompt, worked efficiently, and didn't try to talk me into buying anything extra. He was reasonably priced for all of the work that he did.

It was stressful and disappointing. The contractor had me call him when his guys showed up (which I felt was inappropriate). He was there surveying the job a couple of days before actually starting but for some reason he didn't take any measurments. Therefore, when the guy showed up he wasn't prepared to work he took measurments and left. I informed the "owner" of such. He then asked me to call him again when he showed up to work. He finally came back ready to work but didn't inform me he just began taking the doors off with my car still inside. I expected him to ring the door bell which is what the "owner" said he would do but he didn't. They worked on it all day even though the "owner" told me the contractors would be done by lunch time, he would then install the opener and the garage would be complete that day. That was not correct. They started approx. 11:00am. It was approx. 4:30 when they were set to leave. At that time we noticed the contractors had taken our old swing doors cut them up without asking and used them to frame the front of our garage which was the opposite of what he told us he was going to do. This was unacceptable. The "owner" assured us that the contractors would fix it and frame it correctly using the proper materials. When asked what time the contractors would be back the next day we were unable to get an exact time or even a window of time only that they would be there in the morning. They finally showed up the next day at that time the "owner" assured us it would only take a couple of hours to get everything corrected. The contractor showed up and brought another worker which in turn corrected the job that was previouly done. The job wasn't finished until after 4:00pm. the next day. The "owner" basically blamed the contractor by saying he hadn't been working with him that long. The "owner" should have known the actual abilities of the contractor before giving him a job. We wasted 2 days waiting for the completion of a job that was only supposed to take one day. When we paid them for the job he told us we owed more money which is more than the amount previously quoted.

They came the same day I called between 2-4. He was very nice and advised us of the poor quality of the door. He offered suggestions and we decided to replace every part in the garage door. His work ethic was great and he worked quickly.
