Precision Overhead Garage Door

Called on two different occasions regarding an estimate for the repair of my side-by-side garage doors. Each time I was asked for my contact information and promised a call back by the office manager. He never called me back. Called a third time to inquire about the status of my call back and was told the office manager was not available and that they'd take a message and he'd call me back. Yeah, no thanks.

The technician really took his time, gave some very good advice to avoid future issues and did a great job! Well worth the price to avoid issues in the middle of the winter.

The service was great and I would recommend the to anyone.

I took advantage of a promotion on Angie's List by Precision Door Service to have a tune-up on my garage doors. It was no surprise to me when Al from Precision recommended that we replace our doors. We met again with Al and picked out the doors we wanted. They were installed but we had to paint the doors before the weather seal could be installed. As soon as the doors were painted, Al came back and installed the weather seal. It was a pleasure working with this company.

Al arrived on time and was very professional in his delivery of information about the garage door and what it needed. I could see he was being honest because he was comparing new with the old. The rebuild itself was done quickly and without any mess. I like the idea the company offers a lifetime warranty on the parts they replaced (as long as we own the house).

From start to finish was very impressed with the customer service aspect. Appointment scheduled to work with my time perimeters. Followup email for the appointment. Call in the morning of the appointment to let me know he was on his way. The professionalism of the gentleman who actually did the repairs on the door- a Mr. Al Fleming. Very knowledgable, answered all my questions, explained and showed where all the repairs would take place. Garage floor was neat. Very economical in his movements - where there to do a job and completed it in a timely fashion. Would highly recommend this individual and the Precision business.

The service person was prompt and personable. Replaced rollers and a few other items.

I originally contacted the company because I had purchased a "deal" through Angie's List to have this company inspect the garage doors and replace the rollers. When the technician arrived he suggested that we replace the doors as they were very old and in bad condition. I had priced replacement doors a few years ago, so when he came back with the quote I was comfortable agreeing to have the work done. Steve set a date to install the doors and a few days later he showed up to do the work. The entire process took about 4 hours and he did a great job. Steve Washburn was polite, knowledgeable and did a great job of cleaning up when he was done. He also took all the refuse from the old doors with him. The new doors are wonderful and I would definitely use this company again and/or recommend them to others.

One of the garage door springs broke Thurs night/Fri morning. It's a 60 year old somewhat heavy wooden door. I called a friend so I could get out of the garage Friday morning and go to work. I looked at various companies on the internet/Angies List Friday night when I got back home. I called Precision Saturday morning. Their policy is "call before 2 pm and get same day service." I called about 11 am, I was told someone would be here between noon and 2 pm. Steve arrived a little afer 1 pm. He examined the springs and replaced both. He was very professional (and seemed like a really good guy too!). I also asked what it would take to replace the entire door and he gave me some idea of the lead times for different products/colors and rough cost guesstimates. When I replace the door in a copule years I will definitely give Precision a call! While not the cheapest :-( their service was impeccable. You definitely get what you pay for. The same day response was very much appreciated. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I would recommned them to anyone needing their garage door serviced/replaced.

They did an excellent job. They were here shortly after we called them, within an hour and a half. He explained what he was going to do, did the job well. He also explained how to use it before he left. He left us with a good feeling.

I called this company and told them that I had a single torsion spring on my garage door and it broke. The lady quoted "between $128 and $158." And she offered to waive the service call fee since the repair was for more than $100. I scheduled the appointment and the technician showed up as scheduled. After seeing it he said it would cost over $400. Then he recommended refurbishing everything for over $600. I told him about the price I was quoted. He said that was for replacing one spring (which was what I wanted). He said he is not allowed to install a single torsion spring. He said he had to install a new two-spring system, even though my single spring system is common and worked for many years. He also said that the girls who answer the phone are in Florida and don't know what they're talking about. When I told him that I would not pay more than I was quoted, he said that he would have to charge me for the service call. I called Action Door who quoted me $170 to replace the spring with one with a lifetime warranty. They did it the next day and charged me exactly $170.

Purchased Angie's Big Deal for $99.00. Included Roller Replacement and Hinge and Drive Screw Lubrication. All these were done efficiently and professionally. However, at $99.00 I thought the value was marginal -- Took maybe 30-40 minutes, and the tech said he was going to spend the entire day in our town (therefore, not a major travel expense). It was (and still is) advertised as a $250.00 value (on Angie's List). If I had paid that for the service, I would have felt like a sucker. The tech also advised me of other things he could do (new opener, new hinges, new door, etc., etc.) in a professional and low-pressure manner. I doubt that I would use them again.

They showed up and gave the estimate. I accepted the estimate and they came and installed the garage door. They came a bit late. They said they would be here on a particular day and they showed up 2 days later. They have great expertise is garage doors and they told what the problem was almost immediately. They were able to provide expert advice on my own garage door. Their price was higher than I expected but I don't have anybody to compare them to.

Very professional and easy to work with. Precision did a great job at the services they performed. We can't even hear our garage door oPen it's so quiet. Thank you.

The whole process went exactly as it should. I am very pleased with all parties.

The first time we tried to close our garage door after our driveway had been replaced, the door would not stay down. The garage door opener needed to be adjusted. I called the 800 number at 9:30 PM and Jeremiah came the next morning. He was on time and, in fact, called about 45 minutes before his arrival to tell me when he would arrive. In addition to adjusting the garage door opener, he realigned the garage door to close snugly against the driveway.

They also pointed out to us some problem areas-some of which we realized, and others that we didn't understand the implications of the problem. They made a couple of suggestions of ways we could remedy the problem. We chose what seemed a reasonable fix that we could afford. They were very professional, easy to talk with and answered our questions. Everything went very well until they tried adjusting the door - there was a problem with that, but Tom persisted until he had things working correctly. We would definitely hire this company again.

Steve called about 20 minutes before the scheduled time, and arrived on time. He completed the inspection of the door and components, and replaced the rollers in the process. My garage door opener was about 18 years old, and was definitely starting the show its age. During the testing of the door, the opener began to overheat and fail. We discussed the recommendation to replace the opener, which I agreed that I needed to do. Steve described their premium door opener which he would be able to install, if I decided to go ahead. We agreed on the price, and he went ahead and installed the opener, which took about only 45 minutes. Steve had described how whisper-quiet the new opener would be. I couldn't believe how quiet it truyl is! It's the best opener on the market. I'm very satisfied with the new opener, and very glad that we went ahead with the opener, in addition to the inspection. The timing was perfect,and save a future visit and hassle. I was very impressed with Precision Door, and I would recommend them without hesitation. Their products and services are superior!

Called Precision in December to get an estimate for a broken garage door (one of a three door car garage) and replacement for the other double garage door. I was given an estimate and decided to hold off till summer. Individual service provider, Jerimiah, gave the estimate and when the time came installed the doors. He kept in constant contact with us regarding the order, and delivery time frame of our doors. When they arrived, he called to schedule a time for installation, arrived on time, and installed the doors. He took his time and gave us a complete explanation of how the new doors operated and what to do in regards to troubleshooting if a door does not operated (due to operator error, not the doors). He left our garage and surrounding areas clean of debris.

They came out the same day I called. They were also able to tell me over the phone how much cost. The technician Brad was very professional and helpful. He also gave me an Angie's List Discount that I had received from the Angie's List Magazine . I was pleased with the service.

I bought the Angie's List Big Deal for a $99 garage door tune-up and roller replacement on Thursday 6/16. Called Precision to schedule the appointment, and they were able to come out the next day. They sent a confirmation e-mail right after I set up the appointment, and Jeff called about 10 minutes before they arrived to let me know that they'd be there at noon (right at the beginning of the time window I was quoted on the phone the day before). Jeff and Rob were prompt, professional, and courteous. Before they started they described in detail what the inspection included and why the replacement rollers would be better than our current ones. They also asked if there were any problems they should pay particular attention to during their inspection. I told them about the problem we were having: the garage door closed too far and bent the track that the door slides along, and once closed all the way would automatically start opening again. Jeff had me show him the problem, and he immediately diagnosed the cause and outlined the solution (as well as telling me that the fix was included in the normal inspection price). After Jeff and Rob inspected the garage door, etc. they said that everything except the rubber bumper looked good, and that was the only extra (not covered by the Big Deal) they would recommend having taken care of. They then did the tune up, roller replacement, and bumper replacement. It took them about 30 minutes. Afterwards they called me out to show me what they'd done. The door now closes much more quietly and smoothly without jerking at the top or slamming at the bottom. It also closes properly the first time we push the button. Overall a great deal and a great experience. I would definitely use Precision again.

Angie and Staff, As recent as May 07 ,2011, we called Precision Door Service for service of our garage door. We paid 115.00 dollars for the service call. This call was to repair the door. It stopped working day before Memorial Day and was reported and the person was to return again on June 1st. Steve Washburn, Technician returned reviewed the system again, and explained that he would have to pick up the item needed. He was to call the following morning for a time to return.He never called nor did he return. The next day around 1pm I called Precion's 800 761 4737 the customer service woman only said she would connect me with Mr. Washburn; after I explain my dilemma, she connected the call and he promised to be at my resident with part in hand by 4pm. He arrived with the Wrong part apologized and said he would return this morning by 8am (Saturday) June 4th. It is now 2:45pm. The door is still broken and I placed a call to his 440 521 5401 number on the business card,we have not heard from Mr. Washburn as of yet. Therefore, we called the 800 number and canceled pending service. We would like our first payment $115.00 return ASAP. Thank you This was was a very unsatisfactory service ad response from Angie's List and we have been a member for years.

They quoted a price that the springs would probably be in the range of $150 or so. The guy came out and told me I would need all of these things in order to fix it totallying $500 or so. I told him I wanted to think about it. He told me that I would have to pay an additional $20 for an energy surcharge. I told them that the add specifically said it was only $39.95 for the service call. He told me that was for the company, but that the $20 was for the gas it took him to get over to my home. He was going to put the garage door back down and not let me get my car out that evening if I didn't pay. I ended up paying in order to get my car out. I called a different company the next day and they came out and were able to fix it for $165. I told them about my experience and they immediately knew the company I was talking about before I said the name. I guess they have a reputation for doing this. I called the office at Precision to get my $20 back, but the manager I spoke to on the phone stuck by his serviceman and said that since he provided the service of letting me get my car out of my garage the fee should apply.

Our garage door openers were not working. We had been opening our doors manually. I called for a service appointment which was easily scheduled over the phone. We were given a two hour window of when we should expect our technician to arrive. Brad of Precision Door called about an hour ahead of schedule and asked if it would work for us for him to arrive early. That worked for us and he arrived within 20 minutes. Brad was friendly and professional. He quickly assessed the problem we were having, and gave me the options I had. No pressure, just the facts. We decided to go ahead with having two new garage openers installed, as he had the parts with him and would be able to do it that day. He completed the job in about two hours, explained everything thoroughly to me, and cleaned up everything thoroughly. From what I can tell, it was a very professional job well done. I am very happy with the service and product I received for the price I paid, and would gladly recommend Precision Door Service, especially Brad, to friends and family.

Terrible! Within 5 minutes he determined that a reset of the automatic lift system could NOT be accomplished due to: 1/ the age of the doors and 2/ the need for, at least, a replacement of the 'system' of all the hardware and runners for the doors; (this despite the fact that the other door continues to work fine.) He charged me for a service call that took about 12 minutes and gave me an estimate of about $1200.00 for the least-cost repair necessary. This week Homenik (garage doors) came. The agent examined the doors and determined that the problem was simply a matter of lubrication (the lift system was installed 3 years ago) which he did; reset the lift mechanism and left with a call and repair fee of $75.00. Stay away from Precision Doors! January, 2014: Just an update to let anyone know that despite the gloomy predictions of Precision Doors in their response, our "dangerous-to-the-operator until fixed RIGHT" doors are (with proper lubrication at the right intervals) continuing to work just fine in all weathers. Caveat emptor.
