Joe's Lock & Key

Joe came out to our place to rekey our locks, two of which were original to our home, made in 1919. One was from the 50's. They were all locks that he had not worked with before, but he said if we'd give him a couple days, he would come back after researching them. We scheduled for him to come back a week later and he spent 4 hours rekeying the locks which included completely taking apart two of the original locks and making 6 copies of each key. The original locks still look beautiful and work more smoothly than they ever have.

He was a little ahead of time so he called to ask if he could come then. He was real professional and did a great job.

Joe suggested alternative options and recommended a cost-efficient plan utilizing existing hardware and re-keying locks. Very thorough, clean, friendly and efficient. Suggested replacement of one lock, but did not hard sell us. -- When door handle experienced trouble several weeks later, he came and inspected free-of-charge (despite the problem not having anything to do with the work he performed). Recommended!

Joe was easy to reach and able to schedule us very quickly. He was on time, courteous and professional. He gave us options for the door locks. When finished, he explained how to properly secure the door and had us try it. Since the new lock works with existing keys, he checked all of our keys to ensure everything worked properly. I called Joe on a Wednesday and was able to set up an appointment for that same Friday. When Joe arrived he started asking questions that frankly my wife and I didn't have answers for and was very patient with us. He was able to answer all our questions and make some great suggestions. We just purchased the property and have a garage that we didn't have access to. Joe was able to remove a boarded up window, remove some (already) broken glass and unlatch the door from the inside (not a job I would have liked to do myself). I now feel that our property is secure and Joe was able to set all the locks to work on the same key. He even gave us a 5% discount for finding him on Angie's List! All in all Joe had a great attitude, he worked quickly and we couldn't be happier with the work.

Fantastic. Joe answered the phone immediately and was available the following morning to come out to do the work which was my preference. He walked me through using the new keys so that I was comfortable and understood the new little quirks.

Excellent. I was really impressed that Joe came on the same day that I phoned. I had read several positive reports on his work on the Angie's List website and I thought I might have to wait a few days before he could come out and fix the problem, but he came right out. I was very impressed with his work and demeanor. The entire job took about 20 minutes total and he took some extra time to make sure it was working correctly as well as giving me a thorough explanation of the problem. He also taught me how to care for the lock properly. Joe also gave me the time he would be at my house and he was right on time; he even gave me a courtesy call when he was about 10 minutes away.

He was very helpful. We were moving into a new home and had to reschedule a couple times due to our moving schedule. He came out as scheduled with a reminder call about an hour beforehand. He had recommendations for what to do to minimize the number of keys we were using while keeping costs down. He also pointed out wearing of the lock and how best to use the lock given this minor wearing. Overall we were very satisfied and will definitely use him again should the need arise.

He came the day after I called at the earliest part of the time frame given. He was friendly and got authorization from me before he did any work. I thank Angie's List for helping me find him!

Joe was friendly and professional from beginning to end. I called on Tuesday and he was there the next day. He quickly re-keyed the locks we wanted changed. He noticed the strike plates were off a little, so he repositioned them. I asked his advice on another door and he helped give us a temporary solution until we decide what we want to do with that particular door. The whole job took about an hour.

He's a very nice person to work with. Knowledgeable and professional. I feel very comfortable working with him and having him in my home.

We had had a break in so we were in a rush to get this work done and Joe responded the same day. He came by, walked through the house, made suggestions on which locks would need to be replaced and which could just be re-keyed, and provided an estimate. That afternoon he came back and completed the work quickly and professionally.

Joe arrived on time, and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We did run into a problem with one of the lock sets I bought to have him install, so I ran out and exchanged it, while he went on another call nearby. He returned and installed the exchanged lock and did not charge an additional trip charge, which was great.

HE WAS ABLE TO COME OUT IN A DAY OF CALLING HIM. HE WAS QUICK TO RESPOND TO THE SERVICE CALL. HE WAS PUNCTUAL AND IT TOOK HIM ABOUT 2 HOURS TO DO THE WORK. HE WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. THE ONLY DRAW BACK WAS THAT THERE WAS NO CLEAN UP OF THE METAL AND WOOD SHAVINGS FROM THE DEAD BOLT INSTALLATION. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

Our house is 100 yrs old, so Joe had to be creative when he ran into problems. Great communication, prompt, no pressure, gives plenty of options for problems. Very pleased with this contractor.

I called about 10am and because he was going to be in my area he said he could probably fit me in the same day and called me back and was at my house about 45 minutes earlier than the original estimate. I was very happy with the work and it was done in an hour and quite reasonable. He told me what the cost would be per lock before beginning any work and also gave a 5% discount as I told him I got the company off of Angie's List.

We thought the lock would need to be replaced but Joe managed to repair it. Now it works better than ever!

Joe came and did work same day, very short notice. He was helpful. All work was done well.

Even though this was a simple job, to key and replace a lockset, I was having difficulty finding the exact replacement. Joe spent some time with me over the phone to help me narrow down the lockset so I could order this from the internet. Once I did have the lockset Joe installed it quickly. His service and attention to details are commendable.

Joe arrived when he told me he would, even calling me to tell me when he was ten minutes away. The job proved to be a much more complicated task than Joe had estimated. However, he abided by his estimate rather than charging me extra for the overtime he spent. I was very impressed with Joe's professionalism and skill. He was able to solve a problem that the Mercedes dealer had said could only be solved by purchasing completely new locks from Germany.

Joe was a true professional, liked his explanation of what needed to be done and why. Kept his word regarding time frame of job. No hidden expenses. He had me try all locks and keys on all the doors to make sure I was satisfied.

Joe was just going on a job when I called (in mid-afternoon). He didn't know if he could come the same day or next day, but said he would call me when he finished his current job. He called within an hour and arrived 10 minutes after he called.

He was prompt and real friendly. I would use him again.

I moved into my house about three weeks earlier and decided I did not feel secure. There was no deadbolt on the rear door & the strike plate was missing. I called Joe and he came to the house Saturday as requested. He indicated when we made the appointment he would call to confirm that morning or I should call & confirm. He actually called to say he would be early! How refreshing. He made recommendations based on the doors and house. He immediately went about his work. He then demonstrated how each door lock worked and had me test them. He then demonstrated how my existing front door lock worked and made suggestions for other doors for future consideration. I was extremely happy with the quality of work and his professionalism. He was very helpful & pleasant. I would definitely call him again. He also ended up being slightly less than his phone estimate.
