We called Joe to fix our deadbolt on our back door. He was able to do the work within one day of our phone call. He was punctual and extremely polite and friendly. He gave us good advice on how best to protect our house. We were very pleased with his work. We will definitely call him again.

Joe was AWESOME today I found Joe's listing after I accidentally locked myself out of my garage (a stupid mistake I made after programming the door opener's remote control into my car's HomeLink system). He was at my door in a little over an hour after I called (and didn't charge any "rush" fees). So I would say he's very prompt & punctual. The work he performed was high quality & exactly what I asked for. He got me into my garage, and also changed the locks on my front & back doors and put everything all on one key (I just moved into my first home). His prices are very competitive and the quotes he gave over the phone were accurate. Like most other home repair specialists, you always get that little bit of "sticker shock" when you realize just how much you're spending for labor (who hasn't ever almost fallen over when they get the bill from a plumber or electrician?), but he works quickly and efficiently, and I feel like I spent my money well. He's also a very nice guy--listened to my needs, didn't try to sell me things I didn't need (but did educate me on what the "best of the best" kinds of locking mechanisms entail), and was also great with my dog. Joe is OUTSTANDING. He was friendly to my dog as well as my 6 year old who kept trying to 'help.' He asked the questions to do the job right, treated my house like it was his, and wasn't overly chatty. He exudes the kind of confidence you want in a locksmith. The best part is that he made me extra keys (no charge), drilled a metal door (I thought it was wood), and change 3 locks. Over the phone he gave me the prices and I'd added it up to be about $150 (for the deadbolt and 2 doors to be changed) -- somehow (magic math, I think), he came to the same $150 I'd been planning. WOW.

My phone call to Joe, explaining my situation, started out as a very pleasant experience. He was personable over the phone, asked questions, and scheduled an appointment with me, letting me know he would call on the appointment day to verify that I still wanted him to come out. The day he came out he called me as stated and arrived at the appointed time. He is a very nice man who know's his business and completed his task within minutes. He was polite and professional and I would recommend his services to anyone.

Joe was great! I called him in the morning, described the problem, and he came in the afternoon when it was convenient for me. Joe figured out what the problem was based on my description over the phone. When he arrived and looked at the lock, he found that it was exactly what he thought, but it required a more complex repair. He had to modify my lock and replace a piece with one that he fabricated in his truck while at my business. I should add that the lock is more than 15 years old, and we've had this piece "repaired" many times before. The previous locksmiths kept telling us we needed to replace the entire lock. Joe took the lock apart, showed me what the problem was, fixed the lock, and had me test it before he was done. He then told me that he would warranty his work for 1 year. And, if the lock broke within that period, he would replace it with a new one, and give me credit for some of the cost of this repair. His price was 1/3 of the cost of the other locksmiths, and he told me that if he had to replace the whole lock, it would still be less than what the other guys wanted for the same job. All in all, Joe provided exactly what I needed, in a timely manner, and at a cost well below what other locksmith's wanted for the job. I would highly recommend him.

He was very thorough and very good. My locks were made in 1912 and we couldn't change them. He replaced everything and was done in fifteen to twenty minutes. He came right away. He got back to me right away, when I called. He came prepared.

Joe came back on Tuesday, completed all the work in a timely and professional manner. We were very pleased with his work, and he gave us some more suggestions about future projects.

Joe came in and very patiently helped us to get the lock working to the tenants satisfaction. He lubricated the lock and also made new keys. In addition, he filed the striker down several times to make closing the door easier. He was very patient and thorough. He also called me an hour beforehand, so that I could meet him there, which worked out great for me.

Called Joe as a result of the high ratings he had on Angie's List. He arrived promptly for the appointment (same day as my call to him), and was courteous and professional. He changed three locks and provided new keys, then adjusted one existing lock so that it worked more smoothly.

I called Joe's to have several of my locks re-keyed and replaced if necessary. He confirmed that it was not an emergency and we scheduled an appointment for the following day. I received, as promised, a call in the morning to confirm the appointment. Arriving promptly at the scheduled time the technician was friendly (even played with my dog for a minute) and because my doors are not in the greatest shape and the locks are old, patiently discussed with me what he was going to try to do, and what plan B was going to be if necessary. The technician spent about two hours re-keying the doors, even putting in some extra work to ensure that the old locks were easy to use. He cut me some extra keys (gratis) and walked me through the work he completed. Overall, I was really pleased with the work completed, the price charged, and the technician himself. I would, without hesitation, use Joe's Lock & Key's service again.

The only door to my home that I have a key to from the outside is my side door. On Saturday night the doorknob lock broke in place, and the door would not open. After breaking into my own house, and removing the doorknob, it was clear I needed a locksmith. I called Joe's Lock & Key on Sunday late morning, and he arrived an hour and a half later, exactly when he said he would come. He didn't charge me for coming on a Sunday (thanks Angie's List), and he was really pleasant. I've not had a key to the back door since I moved in a year ago, so while he was here, he rekeyed the back door. He explained why my cheap kwikset locked in place, and replaced everything with Schlage, a much better product. He worked quickly, double checked his work, and had me try all the locks before giving me four keys (awesome) and the bill. I chose Joe's Lock & Key because of his grade and number of reports on Angie's List, and I would absolutely refer him to someone else.

We returned home from work to discover out house had been broken into and that the thieves had taken the key for our backdoor. We had never used the services of a locksmith before so turned to Angie's List. Joe was the first one we called. From the moment he answered the phone he was professional, courteous and helpful. He quoted the cost to come out afterhours upfront as well as the cost to install a new deadbolt on the backdoor. Once he got there, we also had him install a new deadbolt on our front door, too. He also repaired a broken doorknob for us and made copies of keys for an existing lock plus our new locks. We will definitely use him again if the need arises and also will be sure to refer him to friends and family.
