Invisible Excavations Plumbing and Drain

Our bathtub was barely draining. We called Brian on a Saturday morning and he arrived that afternoon. He "surveyed the damage" and advised us of the cost of just snaking the drain and of replacing it. Since the pipes were corroding he advised that it would probably be worth just to replace the entire drain. Also, advised and gave estimates on other drains that need to be replaced since ours is an older home. We agreed to have him replace the drainpipe in the bathtub only due to available time on that day. He worked quickly and was finished in about two hours and cleaned up very well. We have used Brian before. He has always been very reliable and available and has even given advise over the phone. He is very honest and up front about the cost of his work before he began. Had I known he was on your list I would have written a great report sooner.

Brian is very responsive, fair and fairly priced. We have used his company in the past for plumbing services, have recommended him successfully to friends and would continue to do so in the future.

The plumber was very professional. He explained in detail everything he was doing. Both he and his co-worker left the basement clean. The water heater is now working perfectly.

Brian corrected the mistakes of another certified plumber who caused Columbia Gas to "red tag" and turn our gas off. Brian came out the same day to assess the situation and properly brought everything up to code the next day. Brian was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous.

Brian was very professional and knowlegeable. We have used his services on several occasions in the past and his work is always exceptional.

Brian returned our call quickly on a Sunday and was able to come out quickly the next week to do the repair. Seeing that it isn't a standard hot water tank, we were surprised he had it in stock. Work done was great and actually better than the original hot water tank that was installed (old setup for exhaust caused our kitchen floor to shake when it ran, which doesn't happen anymore)!! Would recommend his services and plan to use him for future needs.

This is the third time I have use Brian for work at my home. He is very efficient and will do the proper work. He will call me if the cost is more than he first estimated over the phone. The quality of his work is excellent and he is also very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend him for any plumbing work.

He is not cheap. He knows what he is doing, is efficient. He gave us some suggestions about doing a tub lining. In the long run, he is worth the money.

As usual, Brian provided excellent service. He responded to the call promptly and courteously. He could have simply kept trying to repair old water heater and keep charging me for something that was not possible. Instead, he presented options and recommendations.

BRIAN GAVE ME ALL OF THE POSSIBLE WAYS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE PRICE OF EACH.

BRIAN AND HIS ASSISTANT DID A FANTASTIC JOB. HE RESPONDED TO OUR CALL AND ARRIVED FOR THE JOB IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS. HE INFORMED US WHEN HE WAS RUNNING A BIT BEHIND SCHEDULE. HE REPLACED OUR OLD AND SEVERELY LEAKING COPPER DRAIN PIPES WITH BRASS ABOVE THE FLOOR AND PVC BELOW THE FLOOR. HE IDENTIFIED TWO ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS-BELOW THE FLOOR LEAK, AND NO SHUT OFF VALVE TO WATER LINE. WE WERE NERVOUS ABOUT HOW THE FINISHED APPEARANCE WOULD BE AND HAD BEEN RELUCTANT TO ALLOW OUR ORIGINAL COPPER PIPES AND HARDWOOD FLOOR TO REMOVED AND SAWED UP. BRIAN RE-ASSURED US THAT HE WOULD PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURES AS WELL AS HE COULD AND CAREFULLY AND NEATLY REMOVED ONLY THE NEEDED FLOORBOARDS. WE WERE GRATEFUL THAT HE TOOK THE TIME TO PRESERVE THESE ALMOST IRREPLACEABLE BOARDS-MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN ABLE TO RE-INSTALL THE FLOOR SEAMLESSLY! WE RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES WITHOUT RESERVATION!

HE SPENT ABOUT THREE HOURS HERE, AND AFTER FINDING THE LEAK HE GAVE AN ESTIMATE OF $2650. HE WAS PROMPT AND CAME OUT WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. I WOULD PROBABLY NOT HIRE HIM AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE PRICING.

BRIAN SHOWED UP ON TIME. CALLED BEFORE COMING. HE WORKED ALL DAY TO COMPLETE THE WORK. DID ADDITIONAL JOBS NOT ON MY ORIGINAL LIST. DID EXTRA WORK THAT WAS NEEDED ON THE BATHROOM SINK. HE NEEDED TO REMOVE THE SINK FROM THE WALL TO REPLACE THE FAUCET. CONSULTED WITH ME BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE EXTRA THINGS THAT HE NOTICED NEEDED ATTENTION. HE GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON THE PHONE BEFORE THE WORK WAS SCHEDULED. HE CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF. EXTRA WORK INVOLVED REPLACING THE DRAIN ON THE BATHROOM SINK WHICH WAS FALLING APART AND THE GAS VALVE ON THE HOT WATER HEATER WHICH WAS 50 YEARS OLD. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE BRIAN AGAIN BECAUSE I KNOW WHO WILL SHOW UP AT MY DOOR. HE IS AN EXTREMELY COMPETENT PLUMBER. THE COST SEEMED TO BE COMPARABLE TO OTHER PLUMBERS ON ANGIE'S LIST. I THINK I PROBABLY COULD HAVE FOUND SOMEONE CHEAPER BUT I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR, A JOB WELL DONE.

VERY HELPFUL W/ OTHER IDEAS TO PREVENT WATER LEAKS DUE TO INCREASED WATER PRESSURE. OFFERED GOOD ADVICE. PLEASED WITH WORK.

THE CONTRACTOR PERFORMED THE WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER, EXPLAINED WHAT WAS NEEDED AND THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED, IN A WAY THAT I COULD UNDERSTAND AND WAS VERY THOROUGH. (CHECKING REPEATEDLY TO BE SURE THAT THERE WERE NO LEAKS.)

RESPONDED QUICKLY TO INITIAL PHONE CALL AND SET UP APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT DAY. CALLED 30 MINUTES BEFORE APPOINTMENT TO CONFIRM. PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AND EXCELLENT CLEAN-UP. WOULD DEFINITELY CALL AGAIN.

EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL SKILLS; HE LISTENS TO THE CUSTOMER. HE WAS READY TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE STOP VALVE WITH A NEW ONE, BUT LISTENED WHEN I TOLD HIM I WANTED A BALL VALVE INSTEAD. HE INFORMED ME OF THE PRICE DIFFERENCE BEFORE INSTALLING IT TO CONFIRM I WAS WILING TO PAY THE EXTRA COST FOR THE BALL VALVE. HE BROUGHT AN APPRENTICE WITH HIM TO ASSIST WITH GETTING NEEDED EQUIPMENT IN ORDER TO SPEED UP THE REPLACEMENT. WHILE INSTALLING HE FOUND A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT IN THE TANK, AND FIXED THE DEFECT. HE AND HIS APPRENTICE DID A WATER CLEANUP OF THE FLOOR PRIOR TO LEAVING THE JOB. (SOME SEDIMENT LEFT, BUT NOT ANYTHING THEY COULD CONTROL) THIS WAS DEFINITELY A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.

I CALLED IN THE MORNING AND BRIAN WAS OUT TO MAKE THE REPAIR IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON. HE WAS EXTREMELY PLEASANT AND INFORMATIVE. HE PERFORMED NOT ONLY WHAT HE CAME TO THE HOUSE TO DO BUT DID ADDITIONAL WORK THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. I FELT THE FEE WAS MORE THAN REASONABLE AND THE SERVICE EXCELLENT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MCDERMOTT PLUMBING.

BRIAN AND HIS HELPER SHOWED UP EXACTLY WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. HE SHOWED ME WHAT WORK WAS DONE WHEN HE WAS FINISHED. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE WORK AND THE PRICE.

WHEN I CALLED HE RETURNED THE CALL PROMPTLY AND DID THE WORK THE NEXT DAY. BRIAN WAS VERY COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, AND DID A FINE JOB. HE RETURNED AFTER HE FINISHED THE WORK TO INSURE THAT THE GAS ON THE STOVE WORKED PROPERLY. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY USE HIM AGAIN.

ON TIME, ON SCHEDULE. POLITE, LEFT AREA VERY CLEAN.

BRIAN IS ALWAYS VERY CAPABLE, PROFESSIONAL, AND IS ALWAYS VERY GOOD.

BRIAN, A MASTER PLUMBER, WAS NOT ONLY ON TIME, VERY POLITE, & REASONABLY PRICED; HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE AND PLEASANT. HE EXPLAINED THINGS WELL. LET US MAKE THE DECISIONS. WE ARE SO PLEASED WITH OUR NEW TOILET AND SINK. HE DID A LOT OF CLEANING AND GOT THE WATER STAINS OFF THE FLOOR! AN HONEST PLUMBER. WOW!

COMPETENT WORKER WHO RECOGNIZED ME AS A FORMER TEACHER. THE PRICE QUOTED OVER THE PHONE WAS MUCH LESS THAT THAT OF ANOTHER OF YOUR RECOMMENDED PLUMBERS. I WAS TOLD HOW TO KEEP THE DRAINS OPEN.
