I called Rick at 2:15 and he was here by 3:00. He quoted be an estimate over the phone and was spot on after I gave him a little information. He was fast, professional, and very knowledgeable. He even adjusted the door so it was square and not scraping the bottom plate on the floor! If I ever have a lock issue, he's the first guy I'm calling.

He gave me a really hard time. He claimed the door handle doesn?t work. We had an argument and I said we?d need to contact the manufacturer. He claimed he couldn?t wait for me to contact them. He said he would have to charge me for extra time. We called the company, and they walked him through it. There was nothing wrong with it. That is my first complaint. On the keypad, there are different numbers you have to delete to use your own code. He did not delete the original code numbers. I have a problem with someone getting into my house and that person has already got in 3 times. Even though I have my own code number, if you don?t erase all the code numbers someone else can still get in the house. She took my booklet, put in the codes, and got into my house. I?ve called him to come back and he said he?d have to charge me. I have no choice to work with him again, and I have to pay him again. I called him and I said let me know when you are coming over. He did not let me know when he was coming over and just popped over. I told him I had to go to the hospital. I told him he should have told me when he was coming over. I told me that he did not program this properly according to the manufacturer. And he said that that is not his problem once again.

Highland Key bought new keys for me and rekeyed my home. However, the man who came to re-key my home put the keys in his name when purchasing them. I'm not sure if he handed my keys out or not, but i felt as though someone was entering my home while i was away ever since he came. I used a different company to fix the problems and he seemed upset. I called him and told him "i'm an adult, i paid you upwards of 1500 dollars and i was not satisfied. I will use whatever company i choose." There were a few times i would come home and i would find doors open and just a presence that someone had been there. Very unsettling.

Very good...he was able to remove broken piece from the lock and make a new key quickly. He also made an adjustment to an external lock on the bedroom door and didn't charge me for that repair.

Great! The lock was replaced and the door re-aligned. I thought that the charge for the repair was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to contact Highland Security Lock Service again.

When I called, Rick answered the call and was ready to be at my house in about 45 minutes, which I thought was great response time and I couldn't have asked for faster service. He gave me a heads-up while on his way to my house, but before he arrived, I found out that the main entrance screen door which we thought we had locked from inside before exiting through the garage was indeed not locked. I called Rick right away and explained the situation and offered to pay for the service call anyway since he was already spending time driving to my house, on account of my request. Rick, who was still en-route to my house, politely declined to collect payment, and simply suggested we call them next time we needed service! That, I most certainly and happily would do. I now know they are true professionals and value customer satisfaction above anything else! It was such a pleasant experience!

Excellent experience. Our door handle broke. He was able to come the same day I called. He fixed the door and rekeyed our locks for us along with repairing the doors so they worked properly/locked safely. He was able to advise me as to the most cost effective way to do this.

It was a very positive experience, while he came out for installation of door lock and rekeying I asked if he could check into a few other things which he did. Rick came out the same day I called and because of all the items I added and previous commitments he returned the second day to complete the job. He is efficient, explains everything and reasonable. Rick came in and did a quick assessment of all of the doors. He noted that some of the locks had bee installed incorrectly. He then proceeded to clean them before retooling them. Now instead of three different keys for these locks, I now just have one key that can open them all. He didn't charge for cleaning the old locks, and he was able to take any payment options (cash, cc or check). Excellent customer experience. I would easily recommend Highland Security to anyone who needs locksmith service.

Rick was excellent. Came out for re-keying and wound up replacing two other locks per my request. The strike plate on my front door wasn't very secure so he worked to strengthen it. Due to the door and lock age, this took some time and finessing to get right, but Rick handled it. The garage door wasn't latching fully and Rick came within hours of me calling him and letting him know. Again, the lock was not very secure, and he spent some time strengthening it. He also took a door that was somewhat tough to open/close and and made it function more smoothly. I wound up spending more than I budgeted for, but this was because the scope of the work changed. Rick was extremely helpful in detailing my options and giving me what I felt were honest thoughts about pros/cons of everything. I called multiple contractors prior to service. Rick's prices weren't the lowest, but they were very reasonable overall. I would recommend Rick/Highland Security to anyone who asked me and will be keeping his card on file should I need someone in the future.

He was very attentive to the details, it was great to have the internal parts of the door knobs fixed and now we can use them. Two doors were trimmed to fit the door frame and it is great to have them working so well. I am so happy we used this company, he was great!

The doorknob on the door from the garage to our house seized up, making it impossible to use the most important door in the house. When I called and explained the trouble, Rick not only explained probable causes but assured me that my attempts to fix it hadn't done any real damage. He was able to come out within a couple of hours even though it wasn't really an emergency. Fixed the doorknob and lock set and showed me what had happened. After noticing the dead bolt on the door, Rick asked whether I used the locking mechanism on the doorknob. When I said no, I got to thinking about what would happen if the doorknob lock accidentally got turned. I was pretty sure I didn't have a key for that. Rick thought of it at the same time and tried my deadbolt key to see if it was the same. Since it wasn't he redid the doorknob to match the deadbolt key--even though he'd finished it already without rekeying! That kind of thinking and going the extra mile means a lot! I could imagine getting locked out in a few weeks and some locksmiths would just be glad for more business. Rick didn't want that to happen. He also didn't charge labor on the additional work to re-key the lock. Amazing! I will recommend Highland Security to everyone. This is an exceptional business.

Outstanding job from start to finish

They were great! Not only was the call a quick-response request 'that-day', but the technician/owner did beyond the request and recommended switching lock-type, added security to the strike plate, and also fixed a not-fully-functioning lock on a screen door. He got there after hours at 6 p.m. and worked till past 8 p.m. I was thrilled to have the immediate response time and the added security assurance. Plus he added a 10% Angie's List discount! I would highly recommend them.
