They came first to "diagnose" the problem. They were right-on and with the replacement of the tank, everything is fine. This is the second time I've used this company. The first was to fix a leak in my shower. That was done well, so I called them this time with good results this time as well.

Herb was recommended by a friend, so I've no other estimates to determine how his price for my work compares to others.Nonetheless, I had the inspection, estimate and repair completed in less than a week. Herb checked and corrected other problems he found with the heating system, as he worked on the boiler. His work is neat, in that he cleans up from his work and the pieces he installs are done very cleanly -- no sloppy joints or pipe dope globs. Wiring that was added to power the new fill system was routed very professionally. I'm very pleased with the quality of the job.

They were prompt about showing up at the job site. Had parts on hand and was able to service the boiler in about 2 1/4 hours. Was happy with their service. Will use them in the future.

I had used Herb's Pluming in the past and knew their service is excellent. Called and scheduled for earliest appointment, they arived on time as scheduled. Spencer tested the areas noted as having gas leaks from a previous inspection. He determined the best method for repair and commenced in doing so. He finished the work in less time then prevously quoted and charged accordingly. I was very please with Herb's Plumbing and with the Spencer' performed. (He was a pleasant person as well.)

After speaking on the phone and giving a detailed explanation of what had happened to my garbage disposal, I was told that it would be no problem, they would come and fix the issue. After less then 2 minutes in my house and by barely looking at my garbage disposal, he came to the conclusion that nothing could be done for it, and only the purchase of a new garbage disposal could fix the problem. He also mentioned that he had to charge me $80 for a total of 2 minutes spent here. ($80 is charged for the first 30 minutes). This is something that they could have easily told me over the phone, so instead of being charged an exorbitant amount of money for 2 minutes worth of service, I couyld have had the new garbage disposal ready for him to install. Since he would have to charge me for 30 minutes worth of work for literally being in my house for 2 minutes, I asked him to snake the drain in one of my bathrooms. It took him precisely 30 minutes to do so, putting us now over 30 minutes according to him, bringing our total charge to $80 + $40 (for the next 30 min) and an additional $25 that they normally apply to unclog bathrooms. As a first time angie's list customer, it is mentioned that they offer a $25 discount. I was never offered this during the visit, even after mentioning that I found them because of angie's list. I feel like this company has just robbed me. I'm down $145 for simply unclogging my drain, a service that in the past has taken other people less then 5 minutes to do. In summary, they charged me $145 for a total of 32 minutes of work that only consisted of unclogging my bathroom.

They are very detailed in the work that they do. The did great work and they have great customer service. I can't say a bad thing about them (especially Spencer!). I would recommend them in the future to anyone.

Very fast. Response to my call was quick. Was able to come same day. Herb and Tim are easy to work with, strait forward and honest.

Nothing much to tell. Kitchen sink drain was clogged and needed to be snaked. I called Herb's Plumbing, he came right away and did the job appropriately.

I was satisfied with their work. Their price was reasonable - I'm very frugal. They were not only courteous, but extremely pleasant to work with. They communicated what was going on in a non-condescending way. They were on time when they said they'd be there.

He was very prompt and knowledgeable, and suggested some things I needed to do. I followed up with him later to get those things taken care of. He had all of the supplies with him to take care of my problems. I highly recommend him and I would definitely use him again.

It was a very good experience. My local government holds a house fair every Spring, and that's how I found them. They also offered a discount if I found them at the house fair. They work in steam heat, and it’s a father/son business, so that makes me very comfortable.

They snaked the drain easily and without a hitch. (It appeared to be a one person job, but there were two guys.) Because the weather was looking iffy, I recommended that when they finished, they should do the outside leak next, instead of the inside water filter. The main plumber rolled his eyes and sighed. I asked him what the problem was. He said he was on a schedule. I explained that I was very clear about the three jobs I had scheduled when I booked the service. He reluctantly went outside to look at the leak. Then he said he wanted to see the filter inside before he started the project outside. He spend 5 minutes with my filter and said it couldn't be installed. Parts weren't compatible with my faucet. Fine, I say. Let's move back to the outside project. After digging down about 11 inches, the leak was easily visible where an L bracket had cracked, that connected two pieces of pvc. He explained that he doesn't carry those on the truck (??????) and would have to go back to the shop. Approximately one hour later he came back. He attached the bracket. He told me I would have to turn the water supply back on after two hours to see if there was still a leak, and bury it with the removed dirt, because it takes two hours for the glue to set. He then gave me a bill for two guys for 3 hours: $473 (including the $3 pvc piece). He wrote the time as 8:30-11:30, but when he handed me the bill it was 11:10am. I was essentially charge 3 hours x 2 men for 2 hours of work that really only required one plumber. This company was recommended to me by my neighbor but I'm really disappointed and won't be calling them again.

Overall I had a very good experience. The guys that came out were very nice and helped me solve my plumbing issues.

I spent $200 with them. Everything has been working fine. Sometimes, I have to continuously flush the toilet to run it. They were honest. The plumber was fine. I will use this company in the future.

I made a few calls to find a plumber who would come. It was not an emergency--I needed next-day attention. Herb's responded quickly to my call and set an appt for the next day. They were prompt and solved my problem. Very polite as well.

They came out promptly, they fixed it right away and they left. They were good and effective. I would recommend them.

They are very high priced. Perhaps this is OK for a small emergency repair. We needed more. They were content to work on a very old plumbing system that simply needed to be removed and replaced. Herb's plumbers were suppose to repair and stop all leaks. The workers talked a real convincing talk. I agreed to their suggestions and gave permission to install cut off valves and two new toilets in addition to my original request to repair all leaks. A few weeks later I removed a large section of the kitchen ceiling locating a leak on work they had done. I phoned Herb's Plumbing and Heating. Herb came over himself and stopped the leak by tightening a fitting. We ended up removing and replacing the entire plumbing system in the house with another contractor experienced in old house renovation.

Cellar flooded on a Sunday afternoon. Arranged for service after checking on Angie's List for 24-hour service availability. Herb and helper arrived when arranged; cleared drain from both inside and outside.

I have to repeat again, that my best endorsement for Herb's plumbing is that I have hired them several times for work on my properties. They are the "right" people if you want quality work.

I like them very much. They gave me a wake up call so I would be down stair on time as well!! They are efficient and reliable.

They have done work for me several times over the past several years. They are professional, licensed plumbers who always do a good job for me. I needed a replacement faucet with pop-up sink stopper installed in a bathroom sink. I went to a big-box home supply store and purchased a faucet in a desirable style. I called Herb's plumbing, scheduled a day for the work, and the plumber came and did the job. Just that simple.

Work went well. The contractors worked together, the work got done, kept to schedule.

They are honest and efficient. They are very knowledgeable. They are not cheap. We have an old building and they are able to stock parts and do replacements for it. The building is about 90 years old. Sometimes I call them and they are pretty tied up.
