We applied the annual fall fertilization in December to your ash tree in front, the Japanese tree lilac by the garage, and the red maple in the back. Your ash tree is scheduled to be re-injected this year to maintain its protection from the emerald ash borer insect. Thank you for the opportunity to care for your trees.

Description of Work: They come out 3 times a year to apply pesticides to my bushes and trees. They are very knowledgeable and do a good job. I used to have a bug problem but do not anymore since they come out. I pay around $90 per visit, Wish it were cheaper but it is worth it.

When weather breaks in the spring, we will be out to apply horticultural oil to the maple and crabapple along with your landscape shrubs, including azaleas, junipers, boxwoods, burning bush euonymus, variegated euonymus & roses. In late spring / early summer we will return to procted your shrubs from lacebugs, aphids, and other insects. Then in the fall, we will be back out to apply the Winter Protection spray to your evergreen shrubs. Thank you again for the opportunity to be of service.

Description of Work: They have been treating our Siberian Elm for years, first arresting a disease then keeping it healthy. Two annual treatments plus winter pruning have kept the tree healthy and strong. The staff has given advise and is well trained, professional and reflects a strong corporate culture.

Description of Work: I had my declining ash tree treated for EAB. I also wanted the tree trimmed of dead branches/limbs but was advised to wait to see if the tree would recover, before putting more money into it, which I appreciated. Forest City Tree returned later in Sept to fertilize tree as requested by myself.

Description of Work: They worked on my neighbor's trees. Before they starting they came over to say they would be working in the neighbor's yard and that tree branches might fall into our yard. They didn't have to do that but I appreciated their thoughtfulness and they cleaned the branches that ended up in my yard. Very professional! I love this company.

Description of Work: Forest City Tree Service fail short on the being accessible to the customer. I tried to reach out to the technician to get a few question answered but no success. Even the office staff was not helpful in passing on my message to him. I made payments for services and was not certain services were rendered although bills were left in my mailbox cuz I never saw him either time. After I first contacted them it took weeks before they treated my front bushes. Not sure if I will use them again.

Response from Forest City Tree Protection Co Inc
Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your concerns. Following notification of your review, our Office Manager, Sue Ankrum called you on October 23, 2015 to discuss your concerns. Our Certified Arborist, Dave Robinson came out to your property on October 28 to meet with you, discuss your concerns, inspect your plant material and review your annual Plant Health Care program. As I understand, you prefer to be called prior to any application so that you can be home to observe the work performed. That is no problem and an option we do offer our clients. Neither Sue nor Dave had understood prior to this that you would like to be called ahead. I apologize for any misunderstanding on our part and for the frustration that has resulted. In reviewing our records, I see that you initially called our office on July 10, 2015 and spoke with Sue Ankrum. In follow-up to your call, Dave Robinson inspected your landscape on July 15, 2015 and recommended an annual Plant Health Care program consisting of three applications: (1) Insect Control Soil Injection treatment for control of scale insects on your azaleas; (2) a Winter Protection application to protect your evergreen shrubs (boxwoods, azaleas, yew or taxus) to reduce winter injury; and (3) Fall Fertilization of your shrubs (boxwoods, azaleas, yews & burning bushes) to promote healthy growth and insect / disease / stress tolerance. On August 8, 2015 you called our office and spoke to Sue again to authorize the recommended services. Mike Breth performed the Insect Control Soil Injection on August 21, 2015 and Nick Burnett applied the Winter Protection spray on October 5, 2015. The annual Fall Fertilization application will be done sometime between now and the end of December. We will call ahead of time to schedule a day when you can be home to observe the application. We have also put a "Call 1st" instruction code into your program so that you will be called ahead before all future applications. Based upon Dave Robinson's meeting with you on October 28, we have entered an inspection visit to your property for next year in late spring - early summer ( June 2016). At that time, we will call to scheduled a time for Dave to meet you at your property, walk around the landscape with you, and in particular, evaluate the scale insect infestation on the azaleas the the level of control from the initial application done this past August. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns. We are also grateful for the opportunity to care for your landscape plants. Our business depends upon referrals from satisfied customers.
