Very smooth. They came out quickly and gave an estimate, scheduled the work for 48 hours later, showed up exactly when they said they would. Cleaned up the work site. Nothing fancy, just good work.

I called for an estimate for the street sidewalk leveling due to lifting from tree roots and gave them the address. They left an estimate within a week. Their estimate was less than 2 other providers. So, I asked for additional work on the private sidewalk to the front porch. The date was arranged and I was quite pleased with the workmanship of the finished job. They actually arrived a little early and did a good job cleaning up.

They arrived on time and the work was completed in just a few hours. It was the done the old fashioned way by lifting the slabs and filling in underneath which is what I wanted. They not only leveled the walk but raised it at an angle to make the step up to the stoop easier. The sidewalk now has a slight slope which I like very much. I just had a new porch added that covers my existing stoop. By raising the level of the walk like that, it was not necessary to add an additional step to the porch. It is just one standard step up. I would be happy to recommend Devite's Concrete Leveling to anyone who needs to have a walk or driveway leveled.

I called Rick about 10:30 am one day. He arrived and gave me a reasonable quote by 11:15 am that same day. I said 'can you do it now' and he said 'yes I can!' Within two and a half hours the job was complete to my great satisfaction. Job well done Mr. DeVites! Rick used a fine ground limestone to hand level the walk. He carefully lifted each slab after cutting along the finished stress lines to create manageable sizes. No holes were drilled so the concrete slabs look like they did when they were originally poured! Ask Rick why this is the best method for raising concrete!

Tree roots from an oak tree had raised three public sidewalk slabs. We had four total estimates for the work--all rated A by Angie's List. We chose Devites Concrete Leveling not only because of the reviews, but also his estimate was substantially lower than the other companies for the same procedure (manual leveling with no holes). From estimate to work completion was a total of three days. We had to smile when he called us to ask if it would "inconvenience us " to come that same week to do the job. As homeowners who have experienced no shows for estimates and long, long waits and delays for service, we were very pleased with THAT call. Rick and his helper came on time and worked hard for three hours to complete the job. Rick said he has been doing this kind of work for over 30 yrs---and it shows. The offending tree roots were removed, the slabs were leveled and the only sign that anyone had been there when they left was a couple of small chips on the edge of the concrete seam from the crowbar. Amazing. This was a job that may have been hard for them, but for us was "easy-peasy." --no stress, no drama, just a job done well.

Initial estimate was done the day after first contact, and we scheduled the work for Monday morning. They called on Sunday afternoon to confirm, then again on Monday morning. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and did the work with no fuss. Adjacent neighbors even came out to get estimates and have work done while they were on the block. Very professionally done. I am totally satisfied!

Called him one day, he arrived 10 min. early the next day to get it done. He's been doing this for a long time and knows exactly what he's doing. Makes it actually look easy! He did just what he said he was going to do, and I am very satisfied. What more could you ask for? Would call him again and recommend to friends. Wish I wouldn't have put it off for as long as I did!

The sidewalk to my front door sunk pretty low and needed raising. I talked to three different providers. Some of them did mudjacking only and very few would do a manual job which I wanted. I ended up choosing DeVites because his price was reasonable and they had positive reviews on Angie's list. Rick and his helper worked really hard. They ended up putting more gravel in than he planned but he kept his word and charged me the original estimate. The sidewalk is now flush with the door frame and there's no need anymore to step up to get into the house. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the job they did.

Came to estimate when he said he would, came to do the job when he said he would and gave a good price. Did excellent work, took his time and cut out all the roots under the slabs, replaced them and patched the corners. Never know it wasn't the original sidewalk. Would recommend him to anyone.

They did a good job leveling the slabs and the work is guaranteed for two years.
Description of Work: I have an older home in Berea with sandstone sidewalk slabs leading to the front porch. The slabs have been there for probably 80 years or so and were uneven. Rick and his partner came out and hand jacked the slabs and used a stone/sand mix to support them. I asked him to pitch the the slabs in such a way that the water runoff would be directed toward the driveway and away from the house. This he did and the next day it rained and the water ran down the driveway just as it should. I was so pleased I had him back later in the year to level some more sandstone by the back porch.

The driveway was pretty old and over the years it was worn down where the water was running into my basement. By raising the concrete driveway up the water now drains away from the house. End results I have a dry basement. They were very professional, punctual, and did not try to overcharge unnecessary things. I would higher them again and would recommend them to others.

I checked the phonebook for contractors, had estimates done & asked how work was to be completed. Then I compared prices. I also looked into references on BBB and Angie's list. I payed when the job was done and not before, THIS IS A MUST DO ITEM. I called 1 day after receiving estimate and told Rick he had the job. He told me the following week he could do the job. I was contacted about 1 hour later saying he could do it the next day about 10 am if that worked for us. He was there promptly and completed the work in 2 1/2 hours. His staff cleaned as they went along and humor was with them all. It made the job go easier when everyone worked together. Payment was made after full job was completed. Our complements on a job well done for your business!
Description of Work: Releveled 3 pavement stones to the front porch. Result was fabulous, height was acheived for children and seniors to walk up the first step with ease. Removed and restored cracked & heaved driveway pavement by rolling extremely large piece of concrete in order to view issue of heavement. No tree root issue, removed excess dirt and releveled concrete with gravel sand mixture. Piece was then put back into the area without any heavement. Cement was used to fill in where the block was cracked. Concrete looked amazingly perfert for what was done with it. Professional in all aspect from first phone call to payment. I recommend this company to anyone who has concrete leveling to be done. I picked him from the phonebook and felt I hit the jackpot when all was completed.

Showed up on time and completed the job in a timely fashion while taking the time to clean up after they were done.
Description of Work: I purposely wait a year to rate people to see how their work stands up... DeVites Concrete Leveling was very competitive from a pricing standpoint. We had our sidewalk leveled exactly one year ago because of a city inspection violation in University Heights. DeVites lifted the concrete slabs out of the ground (versus drilling unsightly holes and jacking the slabs up) and then proceeded to remove the offending tree roots. Once this was accomplished, they back-filled the area with crushed pea stone and then placed the concrete slabs back into place perfectly level. The leveling job passed inspection and still looks great after one yr. The other thing I was happy about was that when they removed the slabs, they took the time to carefully remove the surrounding sod and then in turn reused the sod once the slabs where back in place, so I didn't have to bring in new top soil and plant grass seed. DeVites did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend their services. --Greg K. University Heights, OH

I called Devite's and received a return call that day. Rick offered to come out and look at the job (leveling a sidewalk block) the next morning. He came and provided a quote to my husband. They also agreed to cut out some additional tree roots that were above the ground and a pain when mowing in our front yard, for an additional charge of $50. Then Rick called again this afternoon to say they were done early on their job and could take care of ours today! They were done within a couple of hours. They leveled two sidewalk blocks, hacked out the tree roots, cleaned up the roots and debris, replaced the front yard sod so that everything looked nice and normal, and hosed down the dirt. They were great guys too! The only reason I gave a "B" on price is that I don't know if the price of $300 for leveling and $50 for roots is the best or not: we weren't able to get other quotes as others on Angie's list either didn't respond or said they didn't do this kind of work. Really, this company is A+!
Description of Work: (1) Leveled two concrete sidewalk blocks that were more than one inch above other blocks because of tree roots from a tree on the devil strip. (2) Cut out tree roots above the ground in the front yard (probably between 10-12)

They leveled the sidewalk blocks that had been cited in the city's exterior inspection, which is done every three years. They cut and replaced chunks of grass alongside the sidewalk, and cleaned up and hosed down the area after they were done. It only took about an hour. I was pleased with how quickly they were able to schedule the work, and the reasonable price. The only quibbles I had were that I'd asked for a phone call before workers came in case we needed to get one of the cars out--since the area being worked on was where the sidewalk crosses the driveway. But no one called--I went out to run an errand and was surprised on returning to find them at work. Also, once the sidewalk blocks were leveled, the driveway apron is now lower than the sidewalk, meaning there's a high spot where the sidewalk meets the driveway. I guess I didn't realize this would be the result of leveling the sidewalk. The only thing I can do is have the apron "mudjacked" or holes drilled into it and material pumped underneath to raise it. Not sure I want to do that so I may see if there is something I can place in the area to slope from the walk to the driveway surface, so there won't be so much of a "lip."
