Nice and perfect

It was a great experience from the planning all the way through the completion of the project. Terry put a great design together and his crew was outstanding throughout construction. The quality is much better than the original deck and they even completed it before Spring! Imagine that...

Our experience was excellent. We had never built or owned a deck before, so we had some ideas of what we wanted but no experience and not many facts to back our ideas up. Terry was extremely helpful, pointing out advantages and disadvantages of our ideas as well as things to consider, and working with us to come up with a fairly simple but stylish deck design that fit our needs. As he said several times, he always tries to imagine what he would do if it was his own deck. After a good deal of research, we decided to go with Veka decking material because of our desire for low maintenance and durability. The crew was hard-working and friendly. They worked every weekday from about 8am to 6pm unless there was heavy rain. Terry handled the city permit and inspections; we handled the homeowners association permit. Terry was very responsive to our questions during the building process, once even calling us around 7:30pm to address some questions that we brought up after reviewing the day's progress. The crew was also very patient with our indecision about the lighting. Luckily they asked us at the end of the day, and we were able to look go out onto the mostly-finished deck at night to make an appropriate lighting decision (which was quite different than what we originally put in the design) for the next work day. The work quality looks very good, and the quoting, designing, and building processes were excellent. We love our deck, and we highly recommend Terry and his team and extend our heart-felt thanks to them!!

Alex and Terry did a great job, their crew completed the tear down of the existing deck and put up the replacement elevated deck in less than 2 weeks, the crew was very hard working and cleaned up the site every day, we are extremely happy with the work done by Deckmasters and would definitely hire them again.

I would highly recommend Deckmasters! This construction project was one of the best experiences I have had.

I called Terry in April and we set up an appointment for one week later. Terry called about 20 minutes before arrival the day of our appointment. We showed Terry our brick patio with the brick steps and told him that we wanted the steps removed and replaced with a small wood landing with steps. I had a few pictures with what we wanted. Terry had some great suggestions and drew up plans within a half hour. He gave us pricing for all wood and composite which was about double in price. He had pics of a lot of the decks that they built. He explained the details of how they would be building our landing and steps. He broke down all the pricing. Very Professional. We were very happy with the price and felt we would be very pleased with Deckmasters. Terry told us they would be able to build our landing in July, we were OK with that. Well, we received a call on Sunday, May 15 asking if they could start our project that Monday, we were thrilled. There was a crew of two guys. They did the tear down of the brick pavers and piled them so neatly on the patio. They hauled away the extra dirt that we did not want. The frame was built. This was day one. The next day the inspector was coming. After that it was OK for the posts to go in. The landing, steps and railing built, and the job was finished on day two. We are so HAPPY with our new landing, steps and railings. AWESOME JOB from DECKMASTERS.

We met with Terry months before the work was to be done as we would be away for a few months. We talked about the end of May knowing that he would be quite busy. We also talked with two others, who could not come close to his design (which we love) nor the price for the material used. We knew from the beginning we would be giving the work to Terry. His design was unique and stylish. We decided to go with the composite decking which would afford us no maintenance. He started in the middle of May, more than willing to please us. He is a great guy to work with. In discussing the deck, Terry answered all our questions and made suggestions to consider. We had thought of a square type and Terry drew up one more stylish. He suggested colors but left the decisions to us. We did walnut decking with white railing and black balusters.. We can see right through, as he said we would, and there would be no distraction in the view. His is a very experienced person and has much to offer. The workers arrived at 8 AM promptly each day worked diligently the entire day. Cleaned up each day and kept everything orderly. I asked if they would please put our grill on the deck and they carried it through the house which was a great service for us. It took only 3 days to complete the deck. We were out on our deck yesterday and the neighbor from the back walked over and introduced himself, as we are new to the neighborhood. He asked who did our deck and could we give him a card. We said Deckmasters and gave him Terry's card. . In one word "GREAT" deck, "GREAT" work, "GREAT" deal!!!

OUTSTANDING. As noted in the WHAT did they do box, they tore down and removed the old deck, and built us a new deck in its place. The first positive experience was with Terry whom we met at our house and he reviewed the current/old deck and suggested a number of ideas about design, materials and improvements. He was prompt, polite and clearly knew the deck business. Very credible resource. In the end, he/they offered a very cost competitive quote which we accepted. Their crew arrived at 8am sharp each day as they said they would and went right to work daily with very little down time each day. Frankly they worked safely and smartly but never really stopped going. Work-a-holics. They were very respectful of our landscaping and lighting around the deck and did a great job cleaning up after the old deck removal, and also daily as they wound down each day. We had some surprised under the deck as I discovered the previous/old deck had no concrete footers at all on any support posts, which is why the deck was "sinking" and caving in. They offered a very low cost add-on to dig better support holes and to pour some basic concrete footers. We agreed, wanting to do it right. But again, minimal cost impact to the over all job. The final and finished deck is GREAT. Solid construction, completed on time, great quality work, and SUPER friendly crew that worked at our home. They ended the job with 100% clean up of our property and did a final walkthrough to be sure we were satisfied before even discussing final payment. 5-Stars in Satisfaction. I would HIGHLY recommend Terry and this company for any deck work!

We were given a half days notice that the deck was going to be installed the very next day. There were some issues with the plans that had to be worked out with the building inspector and Deckmasters. Once that was done the deck was installed as planned. The two Deckmaster employees that showed up to do the work were very hard working craftsmen. They worked non-stop and did an excellent job. At the signing of the contract to have the deck installed, I was asked if I wanted skirting put around the bottom of the deck. At that time I didn't feel it was necessary. After the deck was completed a few of my neighbors informed us that there is a lot of skunks in the area and that we might want to enclose the bottom of the deck to prevent any critters from taking up residence there. We've made several phone calls to Deckmasters inquiring about having skirting put around the bottom of our deck To date none of our phone calls have been returned. It appears that once the job was completed and paid for, they can't be bothered with you. I understand that they are busy, but how busy can they be to not return a phone call from a customer. I am really pleased with the quality of the deck. However I am greatly displeased with the lack of customer service. There is a warranty on the deck and I can hardly imagine what I would have to go through to get any problems resolved.

It went great. They were very responsive to complete the project quickly for us. They laid the boards on a diagonal and blocked it in laying the board vertically. It is really spectacular. We've received a ton of compliments on it. And they were much more reasonably priced than any of the other companies we received bids from. I can definitely recommend them.

This company does it right they show up when they say they would and the work ethic is second to none. The only time they take a break is for lunch. I would Recommend Deckmasters to anyone that asks me they are great.

They were very professional. They tore off the floor of deck and gazebo, they had to remove the railings so they could replace the boards that were underneath. They replaced the boards and railings, they had to rebuild the stairs because they did not have enough support. They cleaned up the area when they were done and hauled the old wood away. They did a great job and the deck looks like new.

Alex and his guys showed up promptly on Tuesday morning and were finished by Thursday afternoon. The three men he had working were wonderful and very respectful of my home and my yard. They worked tirelessly digging the post holes, framing in the deck while the posts set and their workmanship and attention to detail was impeccable. I originally thought the price Alex gave me was a bit high but after seeing what went into building this deck and the workmanship I could have never equaled I could not be happier and it was worth every penny. These guys are good and my deck looks amazing. They do quality work and stand behind their work 100%. I had two minor things I asked be corrected when they were done and they were completed to my satisfaction the next day without any issues. They are true professionals and take care of the customer. Their communication was excellent and they were able to work me in and get my deck built about 4 weeks ahead of the original date which made this entire experience that much more satisfying. I will most certainly recommend Deckmasters to my friends and family. Great job and beautiful work!

They did an okay job.

The work turned out great. We really like our deck and we use it all the time. They took care of all the permits and the foreman was here almost every day. The workers were very nice and did a good job.

Met Alex at the Home and Garden show and had our deck installed a couple months later. Alex and his crew are top notch - prompt, polite, clean, and all business. Once the project started, they stayed right with it until completion. Kept the yard very neat during construction, and inconvenience to the bare minimum. We are extremely happy with the new deck. I'd definitely recommend Alex and his crew to anyone interested in a quality deck.

The quote was $12,000. They were responsive. I felt like they listened to what I was looking for. I went with a different company just because I just felt more comfortable with the guy that I was dealing with and the products. The actual materials they were going to use, I preferred the other's materials.

Alex is dependable-- always returned our phone calls right away, reliable and punctual--never late for a meeting, professional and upfront-- helped us to work through the size and shape of the deck, and unbelievably fairly priced! The whole process was painless and completed without a hitch! His crew was professional, neat, very talented, punctual, and reliable. You get what you pay for. Alex and his crew built us a sturdy deck that we will use for many years to come. Always on time and finished the deck ahead of schedule.

I SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY IN JULY 2003 WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY WOULD DO THE WORK IN SEPTEMBER 2003. I HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT AND GIVING THEM A $500 DEPOSIT. IN MAY 2004 I CALLED AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR JULY 12. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AFTER THIS INITIAL CONVERSATION. AFTER THEY DID NOT ARRIVE ON THE 12TH, I CALLED AT 10:30AM. THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE SAID SHE WOULD PASS ME TO THE MAN. SHE WAS UNABLE TO CONNECT ME AND SAID I WOULD HEAR FROM SOMEONE IN TWO MINUTES. AT 4:00 I STILL HAD NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE. I CALLED BACK AND SHE SAID SHE COULD NOT GET A HOLD OF HIM. SHE CLAIMED SHE DID NOT KNOW WHAT JOB SITE HE WAS ON. I CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND WAS PASSED TO HIS VOICEMAIL. I LEFT A MESSAGE AND STILL RECEIVED NO CALL. ON THE 14TH I CALLED AGAIN AND LEFT HIM A MESSAGE STATING THAT I EITHER WANT MY $500 DEPOSIT BACK OR THE JOB DONE.
