Interior and Exterior House Painting. Separate crews for Commercial Painting.
Majority of painting was satisfactory, but there was a lot of carelessness. Attention to detail was lacking. Aluminum storm windows got daubed with paint. When I pointed this out to the crew, they made an attempt to remove the unwanted paint, but results were far from perfect. Ignored were little areas like keyhole plates on the doors, an iron railing, and even the garden hose pipe. Paint chips were scattered everywhere. When the crew left they left behind two bags of trash, presumably used paint brushes and rags. Also in the bags were remains of their lunches. At night some animals, very likely neighborhood cats, broke into them and spilled some of those remains on my lawn. I had to rebag everything.
Description of Work: Exterior of the house needed to be painted. Most of it consists of brick walls and shingle siding, but there are many doors, window casings, etc, of wood. The woodwork needed to be repainted and the shingles had to be stained afresh.

The entire process was great from quote to completion. They do not require any up front payment. Jesus and his crew worked two long days to complete the majority of the project. The site was left clean of paint chips. They were meticulous in how they managed the site. There may be cheaper painters but I was very pleased with the quality and professionalism they showed.

I would like to begin by saying I’m happy with the finished product and I feel my experience with Curb Appeal reflects an “all is well that ends well” sentiment. As such, I wanted to begin with the positives I experienced from hiring them. First, the quoted price was competitive and Andrew (the GM), was willing to work with me to add in some extra value to the quote to obtain my business, which was appreciated. DJ (the owner and main project contact) was easy to work with and understanding of the purposes of my communications with him; I never got the feeling he was put-out if I needed to call or email to address a concern. The lead on-site Patrick was courteous and also willing to take a moment to talk with me during the project and provide updates. Lastly, as stated above, I think the finished product looks great. As for the main negative, it was that my job felt rushed during the lead-up phase as well as some points during the project, which lead to one bigger issue (that I have chosen not to detail, as I do not believe it is indicative of the typical work a customer of CA would receive) and a couple minor issues, such as caulking not being replaced preliminarily and working a little too closely to forecasted rain. All that being said, I would still recommend them for one main reason: when there were short-comings in the job they performed, they were acknowledged and corrected in a timely manner. Personally, I don’t mind if everything isn’t perfect from the start, but what does matter to me is feeling like the company you’ve hired is willing to respond with a customer-friendly attitude, which I feel Curb Appeal exhibited. Overall expectations were met.

A great service experience, starting with the sales manager who clearly knew about the profession and the particular challenges of my specific needs. They kept me informed on when they anticipated the start, and then actually started on the day they said they would! The crew (Jason and Lars) were professional, kept me informed, and were very neat with their work. My landscaping is very important to me, and they were very caring about that as well. I would highly recommend this company.

I called Curb Appeal in a panic last September and spoke to Mark. The painting company I had originally contracted with finally admitted after a delay of 5 months that they couldn't paint my exterior trim that season. I REALLY needed it done! Mark was VERY sympathetic and very apologetic that his firm couldn't squeeze me in this season, but offered to come out and give me an estimate for the spring, and promised me that I would be one of the first houses done when the weather broke. Mark did come out, gave me an estimate, and again sympathized with my predicament. Three days later he called me to say that a nearby job went faster than expected and he could have a crew there THAT afternoon! I was happily shocked! A short few days later all the trim on my house was scraped, primed, sealed, and painted! The men - especially Andrew - were polite, professional, caring, and cleaned up at the end of each day beautifully. I was very pleased. The work they did was very very good - the paint was evenly applied and all borders were clean & crisp. I notice details like that!
Description of Work: Painted all of the exterior trim on my home, which was in BAD shape, down to bare wood in some spots.

Juan and his crew did an excellent job on both the interior and exterior painting of our house. We are very happy with the finished product. Joe and I were impressed with the crew?s attention to their work, even the smallest details. Every time Joe or I spotted an area that needed a touch-up, we found when we went back, it was already taken care of before we got a chance to tell the men about it. The quality of the work was exceptional. We even received a compliment on it from someone who came in to do other work on the house. He remarked on what a good paint job the crew was doing. The painters were punctual, pleasant and very professional. They stayed on task and worked efficiently and carefully. Juan kept us well informed of the day?s plan and was diligent about asking us when he had questions and gave us alternatives when possible. Each evening before they left, they took down drop cloths and reorganized the work area in preparation for the next day. This was especially important when they were painting the kitchen and family room area. They kept disruptions to our daily life to a minimum. We highly recommend Curb Appeal Painting Company for your next painting project.
Description of Work: We had Curb Appeal Painting do both the interior and exterior painting. The interior required removal of some wall paper and borders, they painted all woodwork, trim and doors as well as the walls and ceilings. They painted the exterior trim, our three porches, shutters and doors. It was a big project.

This was perhaps the worst painting experience I have ever had in my 28 years of being a homeowner. We went with Curb Appeal, even though it was the highest bid we received, because they offered the best solution for replacing some rotted wood trim on our home. After we had hired Curb Appeal, I had heard some concerning things about their work and contacted them to make sure the job would be done correctly. They assured me that any problems they had in the past (two separate people told me they had problems with CA's prep work, which affected the paint job) were no longer an issue and that we would be pleased with the work. Although we were initially scheduled to have the painters start mid June, we were pushed back until mid July (except for the carpentry work, which was done very early in the season. The carpenter did an excellent job, although the work came in $200 over budget). Obviously, the early part of the summer was very rainy so we understood they were backed up. The crew were very nice men, and for the most part, did a good job. The crew leader, however, was not up to par and we were left hanging several days when they just didn't show up. They worked a half day one Friday and left before lunch "because it's a nice day and the guys want some time off". I was assured they would work through the weekend to get the job done (they told me there was only 1-1 1/2 days of work left). They didn't show up on Saturday or Sunday- and when I called the office each day to ask where they were, I was told they had no idea (apparently they did not know the crew had left early on Friday and had not showed up on Saturday or Sunday). From there, the fiasco of will they or won't they show up continued. Additionally, it is a good thing I work from home and was there to oversee the job- had I not been there, an area of brand new siding would have been painted (it had been made clear that it was not to be painted) The job was just completed this afternoon- two weeks after their start date. I had to call the owners about several problems with the job after they claimed they were finished last week (everything from paint on the windows to unfinished areas and sloppy brush work that had to be redone). The crew leader wanted me to do a walk through with him and said "don't be like my last job and say everything is okay then complain to the boss". Wow. Additionally, I overheard him telling one of the crew who was painting a door that he had not done the door properly and that "she" (meaning me) better not complain about it. The owners response was tepid at best. "All I can say is I'm sorry" was the answer I received. I've never before experienced a company where the owners are so disassociated with what their employees are doing. In addition to the lack of attention to detail, uneven quality of work and poor communication, our home was left with a razor blade in the driveway, cigarette butts in my flower beds, a bedroom window that won't latch properly and lost hardware for a mezuzah. None of this is acceptable and yet not a single person from the company has contacted us since the job finished (except for an automated "how'd we do" questionnaire). I suggest you save yourself some aggravation and find another company.

First, I want to apologize for disappointing you. It is always our goal, and we are quite successful most of the time, to exceed our customers expectations. This was a returning employee who was placed in the crew leader role based on our past experience with him. DJ, the owner of the company in charge of production visited the job each day (as many as 4 times in one day) after the initial concerns expressed by the homeowner. The crew leader has been fired and we will be reaching out tomorrow to find an acceptable solution. We will learn from these mistakes and be a better company as a result. I am sorry. Curb Appeal Painting did a great job. We were looking for a short notice turnaround to finish some painting in our home that we simply ran out of energy and time to do. From our initial call, to site estimate, to scheduling took all less than 1 week. They worked with our schedule to make it happen sooner than we expected. We worked initially with Andrew and Ron for the estimate and schedule. We initially started under a Deal of the Day coupon, but CAP allowed us to substitute a room for the hallway, and adjusted due to the higher foyer. It took the painters (Doug and Ernest) two days to do the whole job. They were on time, very careful to tape and tarp off all areas they were working in to prevent any paint splatter. They communicated each step with me as they progressed and allowed me to check out and review their work before they moved on to each step. I had noticed a couple of roller marks on a small section of the spare bedroom wall that I asked if they could tidy up. They ended up re-painting the entire wall to make sure it was perfect. I noticed some marks on the foyer ceiling that they determined was caused by rinse water from within the rollers ball bearings. They acknowledged the issue, changed out their roller to a new one to prevent it from occurring again, and re-rolled the foyer ceiling to perfection. I greatly appreciated their communication, punctuality, and attention to detail. They simply did a great job!!! I will definitely keep CAP in mind for future room painting jobs.
Description of Work: Curb Appeal Painting painted the walls and ceiling in our homes foyer (15ft tall at peak height), stairwell, short second floor hallway, and small spare bedroom. They prepped the walls in each area filling in minor nicks. They primed the walls and ceiling in the foyer, stairwell, and hallway which had been freshly skim coated to remove texturing. They did two coats of ceiling and wall paint in all four areas. We provided the primer and the paint.

Curb Appeal responded promptly to my request for an estimate. Showed up on time and were very professional. Scheduled the date to actually do the work and again the Crew Leader "George" arrived exactly on time to start the job. George went over the estimate to ensure what I wanted done was as stated in the estimate. He also went over what they would be doing including moving furniture, covering floors etc. The job took a week and every day George arrived on time and each day explained what he would be doing that day and at the end of each day he reviewed what they accomplished. He was very professional, polite, worked without hardly a break throughout the day. The other guys that worked with George, were also very polite and professional. I would highly recommend these guys and would not hesitate to use them again. Curb Appeal is the kind of company you always hope for when you hire a contractor but rarely receive. If you like professional work, punctual hard working painters who actually treat you like a valued customer then Curb Appeal is the company to call.

It cost too much, but they did a good job. They adjusted the price. It was supposed to be $9,000 but it ended up being $10,000. They were here for five and a half days. They worked professionally. They didn't come drunk or do anything too terrible. I recommend them. I would simply tell others if you want to pay up, these people do a good job. But if you'd like to pay a little less, probably someone else would do a good job. They're good people. They show up and do a good job.

The whole experience was professional, pleasant, and done in a timely manner. The gentlemen who showed up to paint were respectful of my environment, my neighbors and my family. They cleaned up everyday after their day was complete. They were quiet no music. The back of the house had been neglected for years but the gentlemen scraped it down and painted it . It looks new again. The house is 100 years old and looks fresh!!!
Description of Work: Curb Appeal were contacted by me for an estimate on painting of a colonial style home.(in Cleveland) They were prompt in setting up an estimate and coming to the house to meet with me. We ended up accepting the contract. It was late in the season that I had called for this estimate but they assured me my house would get done. I was given weekly updates and kept informed. The house was power washed , scraped, primed and painted. The house looks great!!!!
