The technician was excellent! He was prompt and professional. He stayed for quite a long while, as it was necessary to check the oven temperature over time. He explained how the heating element worked and determined how long I would have to preheat the oven in order to reach a consistent temperature. He also alerted me to hot spots. I'm now able to use my oven successfully. I have used Complete Appliance several times; their service is excellent!
Description of Work: I'm not sure if the amount I paid is accurate; I just don't remember and can't find the charge! The technician checked the temperature of my rather new oven. It didn't seem to be heating properly as food did not come out cooked enough, no matter how long I left it in the oven.

Our dryer was running but not heating. Luckily it was still under warranty w/ Lowe's. They contracted Complete Appliance Service to do the repair. Coincidentally, the same repairman came to do the work who was here two weeks ago to fix our refridgerator. As was the case last time, Scott was great. He was friendly and efficient and was very understanding of my pets. Cost was not an issue b/c our dryer was under warranty, but I will definitely call CAS if I have any other issues.

Complete Appliance Service was not my first choice, however I quickly realized that there are not many companies who service LG appliances. I went to the LG website to find contracters and CAS was one of two in my area. I called them and they were able to set something up for the next day. Everyone I spoke with on the phone was very nice and professional. I also liked that they gave me a window of time, then called the day of service to narrow it down. Scott was our serviceman and did a great job. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it with great care. He put up with my pets and even cleaned up the area behind the fridge when he was done. The only thing that wasn't outstanding was the $85 service fee-I thought it was a little pricey. Overall experience was awesome and would definitely use them again.

I contacted Complete Appliance as they were a Whirlpool certified repair shop. My Duet dryer, only 4 years old, was not functioning. The first problem came when, after I was called that the repairman was on his way (which was over one hour past the time window), I got a second call telling me he would be delayed because he took another call ahead of my pre-scheduled call. When the repairman finally arrived, he diagnosed the problem and indicated I needed new circuit boards. His estimate for the servicing was over $500. I called Whirlpool to complain and they gave me a discount on the parts so I ordered through them directly. Complete came back to install the new parts but the dryer still was not working. The repairman was very short with me and could not give me any type of remedy. He departed and left me with a dryer that wasn't functioning without any type of follow up and expected me to pay him on top of it! Thankfully TOTAL APPLIANCE (A+ service) rescued me and installed the circuit boards successfully. Update: I did receive a refund from Complete Appliance so I have updated the rating. I doubt I will use their service again.
Description of Work: Installation of circuit boards in Duet Dryer. The installation was unsuccessful.

Our LG refrigerator stopped working, so we started looking for somebody to come service it. Looking at only and quot;Aand quot; rated companies in Angie's List, we called four different companies. None of them would service an LG refrigerator, so we called LG and asked for the name of a local repair service. That was Complete Appliance Service. Our technician was on time, courteous, and honest. After looking at the refrigerator, he explained to us that a fuse on the circuit board had blown. The official remedy for this is to replace the entire board, because the fuse is soldered into the board. He estimated about $400 to replace the board. However, he also explained that we could find a replacement fuse on our own, and simply replace the fuse. Including the cost of tools (about $15 for soldering equipment at Radio Shack), and the cost of two fuses ($2.50 each: I only needed one, but wanted to have a spare on hand), I paid about $20 for the repair! Complete Appliance Service will be the first call we make, the next time an appliance needs repair in our household!
Description of Work: The repairman diagnosed our problem and told us how to repair it ourselves. He also assured us that if we run into trouble, our service call will remain open for 30 days, so we can call him back out without paying for an additional call.

It was a bad time to get it fixed because everybody was having air conditioning problems at that time but they did get it fixed. It was under warranty so they honored it. It took a little longer but they warned me it would because they were busy. They did fine and they were very nice. It was their busy season but I had to wait for a long time. I would probably use them again.

After the repair man left, I turned the washer on, only to be shocked that water started pouring out from below the dishwasher. I contacted Complete Appliance and they had the repair man call me back. He said that he thought there might be another problem with the dishwasher, that he would need to order the part, and that he would call when it came back in. Two weeks later, I still had not heard from them so I called. They said the part was no longer available. I contacted Viking, who told me the part was on backorder. I contacted the appliance place from which we purchased the dishwasher, and they said they would be shocked if the part that the repairman suggested replacing was not working, as that was highly unusual, or in other words, it was not a part that broke down very often. They asked me to record what the dishwasher was doing, and then, have the repairman come back out to look at it while they were here. In the meantime, I called the repairman back to say the sales people suggested that he come back out and confirm that the part he thinks needed to be replaced was the right one. I told him that the dishwasher leaked every time I used it, only to be questioned if I was using a full dishwasher. I was flabbergasted, because the truth is, why would it matter? If you use your dishwasher, it should not matter if it is full or not. Then, it dawned on me, the dishwasher did not leak like this before the repairman came out, perhaps he did not put it back together properly. He came out, and the retail appliance salesman came out to watch. The repairman could not find what was wrong, and left. After he left, the salesman said he would replace the dishwasher if I wanted it replaced, but that he still thought it could be fixed. He opened the door, and closed it, only to notice the screws had not been placed where they were supposed to go. They had rubbed a hole in the door from being improperly installed when the repairman fixed it. I asked the salesman if he would mind reinstalling it, like they had originally installed it when they delivered it. He gladly obliged, and once they installed it, I have since had no more leaks. All this, and the repairman told me it could not be fixed! He has also been out to our house 4 additional times, and all 4 times, I paid a $75.00 trip charge only to be told a different appliance is not worth fixing. They fixed an ice maker on our fridge once as well, and it cost 450.00. I just will not ever have them back out again. After the leaking dishwasher, it is not worth the hassle!
Description of Work: We had a Viking dishwasher that was about 6 months old that stopped working. Repairman came over to repair.

The customer's dishwasher was a nightmare for us as well as her. I can only say that our Viking contract was not renewed and we were not sorry since we had to service dishwashers under the contract and the dishwashers are exceedingly difficult to service. Julie has a right to be unhappy. We had repaired other products successfully but the Viking dishwasher was the proverbbial straw that broke the camel's back. The problem was the pproduct, not the service company or the technician but it certainly made us look to the customer.

I have had an issue with my refrigerator and the first time someone from Complete Appliance came out, naturally it was working just fine but I had hoped the issue would start up right before or during the time they were here...no such luck so we decided to do a wait and see. 3 week's later it happened again only faster (the temp in the fridg would go up and it would not maintain the normal temp). This time when I called it was after hours and they listed an emergency number. I thought if I called that number I'd get a voice mail and someone would call back. The only reason I felt the need to call this number was because I was afraid of something (like the compressor) overheating or an electrical problem. The emergency number was answered by Dave while being out to dinner with his family! I told him who I was (he remembered my and quot;nonand quot; issue) and told me to check something in the back, and sure enough a fan that's supposed to be on when the compressor is on was not. He told me how to try and start it on my own and then gave me his home phone number and asked that I leave all my information-model etc. and he would call in the morning to set something up ASAP. After being able to keep the fan going manually the temp returned to normal. The next morning when I spoke with Dave I asked if the fan could be the only thing causing the problem and he said no, it could be a few other items and would check to see the cost of replacement. He called me back and said that he felt the cost of the other items was just to high and suggested we just do the fan and see if that worked. I am a small business owner and very in tune with customer service. I fell that Dave went above and beyond helping me while at dinner, giving me his home phone number and not allowing me to spend more than I should. Everyone at Compete Appliance is wonderful to deal with. Leo, the service tech who did the repair is very courteous, neat and was right on time. Even though I had to wait several days while they got the part Dave helped me keep things going even after the fan completely quit. Had I not received this kind of service I could have lost quite a bit of frozen meat and with the cost of food these days that could have been a very expensive and quot;melt downand quot;. This company a great company to eal with.

As with any service provider. make sure you get a second opinion before paying a big charge. A technician who guesses the diagnosis too quickly is a black mark on the company and just causes trouble down the line with the customer. No acknowledgement of the mistake by the Company, but they did not charge for the wrong diagnosis.
Description of Work: They are the locally recognized service company for SubZero, so not much choice of providers. Our SubZero built-in had a freon leak which was diagnosed by the technician as an evaporator leak. I balked at that idea since we had a replacement coil installed by the same service within 2 years and didn't want to pay another $700. I wanted a "sniffer" test before we spent any more money, but the technician didn't have the "sniffer". Shortly thereafter, another technician, who had been here before, came with a "sniffer" and found the leak was in a test valve, similar to an auto tire valve, saving us big bucks.

The customer could be right. All our techncians are equipped with leak detectors, or at least they are supposed to have them in their service truck and in good working order. I have no way of verifying after the fact but I will be calling the customer to discuss the issue. We were out to do a maintainance check and it sounds like we saw the problem but did not ddial in on the correct cause, assuming the customer is correct. I am sorry.

After a 3 month long series of four different house visits, custom orders and expensive repairs that still did not work I finally called another company who came out and stated it could be a complex problem but offered to go back to the office and do some research before charging me any more money. The other company came back and fixed the problem for LESS THAN 100 DOLLARS! I have a high end appliance and I expect the thing to work. I don't mind paying top dollar but I expect service and for the appliance to perform. I was highly disappointed with Complete Appliance's service because they clearly had no idea what they were doing despite my questioning and more importantly they didn't have the professional courtesy to admit to it. This was a huge waste of time and money.

THE ORIGINAL REPAIR WAS COMPELTED ON JUNE 24TH AT A COST OF $448.12. WE DID NOT HEAR FROM THE CUSTOMER UNTIL SEPTEMBER 7TH WHEN HE REPORTED THAT THE MW WAS NOT HEATING AGAIN. THE ORIGINAL REPAIR REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MAGNETRON TUBE. THE SECOND REPAIR REQUIRED THE REEPLACEMENT OF A BLOWN FUSE AND THE DOOR LATCH, WHICH WAS SHORTED AND CAUSED THE FUSE TO BLOW. THE COST OF THE SECOND REPAIR WAS $264.53. tOTAL COST OF REPAIR $712.95, NOT $1000.00.. I DO NOT SHOW ANY FURTHER CALLS FROM Member. PLEASE NOTE Member WAS NOT CHARGED A SERVICE CALL FOR THE SECOND REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THE SECOND REEPAIR WAS REPORTED SIX WEEKS AFTER THE WARRANTY ON OUR ORIGINAL CALL HAD EXPIRED. WE DID THAT HOPING TO GAIN GOOD WILL. I CANNOT COMMENT ON HIS CLAIM THAT SOME COMPANY CAME OUT AND DID THE REPAIR FOR $100 SINCE WE DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS FACT OR FICTION NOR DO WE KNOW WHAT WAS DONE. Member NEVER DEIGNED TO LET US KNOW. THE LAST POINT I WOULD LIKE TO COMMENT ON IS THE COMPLEXITY OF THE OVEN. THE CM302BS/01 IS A MICRWAVE OVEN COMBINATION. THE TOP OVEN IS A MICROWAVE AND THE BOTTOM OVEN IS A SELF-CLEANING OVEN. THIS IS A VERY COMPLEX PRODUCT TO WORK ON. WE WARRANTY ALL REPAIRS FOR THIRTY DAYS AND EVEN THIS CAN BE EXTENDED AS WE DID IN Member'S CASE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT EXTENUATING CIRCCUMSTANCES, WHICH WE DID IN Member''S CASE.

I called GE and was informed I should not have to pay a fee because it's still under warranty. I called back and spoke with someone again who asked to listen to my garbage disposal to see what the problem could be. He then told me how a garbage disposal works and when should not put in it. I know what should and should not be put in a garbage disposal. I also told them that my plumber suggested it could be a loose ball barring. The man on the phone suggested that my plumber does not specialize in GE garbage disposals and that I would have to use one of theirs.
Description of Work: My garbage disposal is under warranty. I like to use my own plumber but I was advised when I called that I would have to use one of their plumbers because it's under warranty. They said it would cost $90.00.

We were trying to save the customer from having to pay for the visit if the noise she complained about was not a manufactturing defect. Ise does not cover foreign objects or temporaty noise problems cuased by unground bone chips, stc. Thus, we spend time on the phone triaging calls to save customers being charged unncessarily when a phone visit can solve the proble. I remeber my conversation with Mrs. Ramsey and it was like spitting into the wind. I could not say anything that would convince her that the disposer was operating normally. If you read the whole report she diid not say she had another company out. Instead she is upset that domeone would question her about the use of her disposer. Most customers thank us profusely for the effort we spend trying to save them money. In the Ramsey case it backfired.

Description of Work: Lloyd came out to service our old SUB-ZERO refrigerator. He cleaned the compressors and gave the appliance a general inspection. He said that it is getting near the time when expensive repairs are necessary because of drain leakage, blockage, etc. We decided to pass on that and hold on for the time being. We struggled mightily to repair Carol's washer. After a three week struggle we finally convinced her contract company to replace the washer. In this case we are dealing with a third party contract company somewhat akin to dealing with insurance companies in medical claims. They are dead set against replacing a machine even when commen sense says cease and desist. We finally did convince them but before we exhausted every atttempt at repair.

Initially I was prepared for a much more serious repair because the service call was delayed until new parts could be ordered and delivered. These new parts weren't needed, much to my relief.
Description of Work: Repaired dishwasher. From the description of symptoms, the repairman determined that the wire controlling the pump had a break in it. He found that the break was caused by the wire being stuck to the tar-like soundproofing material within the dishwasher door. It didn't cost anything to fix but the service call and the hour's labor added up to $ 140.00. Charlie is an excellent diagnostician!!

We had two clothes washers that needed service under an extended warranty contract. The warranty company sent Complete Appliance. First service call was June 21st. They fixed the first machine. On the 2nd macine, they found a small plastic piece in the drain and attributed this to the problem. Within a few days, that machine again failed to spin dry the clothes.. continued to fill the tub.. I actually had their service manager on the line with me while the machine was errorring out. Over four weeks later, when they finally got the right parts in house, they came out. The tech ran one empty load -- got no error -- said their was nothing he could do. Noticed we had non- HE soap in our laundry room (which was purchased to clean our outside fench) -- besides the HE soad we use for laundry -- and stated that could cause our problems. We've used the same HE soap for years and he confirmed that the HE soap we had was fine. Note: the non HE soap he saw wasn't even open! My real complaint is this: when I phoned the company and spoke with the President, his reply was "we'll call the warranty company and have them reassign this job to another company." They made no attempt to come up with a reasonable solution -- like maybe send another tech? This is the worst customer service experience I have experienced in many many years.

We put Mr.schmidt on our preferred list. We prefer he call someone else. Life is too short to deal with difficult and unruly customers. My tech diid not say they were using the wrong soap but he did say, as the customer wrote, that the wrong soap would cause the issue. The customer forgot to mention that he got very upsset with our tech when the unit did not fail after our tech stayed forr a full cycle. he was upset becasue we could not guess what part might be causing his proble. This is a thrid part contract sittuation and his company does not pay for guesswork.
