I originally called with the intention to repair the original damper mechanism, which had come off its tracks. When they came, they offered the option to install the new system, which offered easier use and better efficiency. We elected to use this option. They were prompt, polite and efficient. The whole service call took less than 1 hour. The only negative is that the old components were left in my flower bed and no one mentioned that this was done.

Gary and Greg were great. They arrived at my house on time and were very knowledgeable and professional. They did a thorough chimney inspection, offered great advice and answered all of my questions. I would absolutely recommend Century Chimney.

The service was excellent. They came out right away, ait it only took them a few minutes to get the work done. They worked very quickly and efficiently and did a great job. I appreciated how they honored an Angie's List discount and they were very flexible and responsive. It was just a great all around experience.

They were fairly response coming out. We're happy with them.

The service guys were very professional, called ahead to check if they could arrive earlier, brought in their equipment, cleaned chimney, and left. They did leave some spots on the floor which they immediately cleaned up and also reduced our bill by $20. If the chimney dirt had spilled on the carpeting they were going to pay to have the carpet cleaned. Basically, everything turned out great!

They told me that they had checked all of the chimneys but they ended up trapping a raccoon inside one of the chimneys which came into my home.

Tom came in the early winter. After a quick inspection he suggested we wait until Spring to clean the chimney. In the meantime he wanted me to spray a powder in the chimney several times thru the winter months that would make cleaning the chimney easier and more productive when he returned. I didn't use the fireplace much this winter because of the unusually warm winter. He came back as promised and cleaned the chimney, in spite of me not spraying the powder. He showed me the video of the inside if the chimney. He did a nice job cleaning the chimney and left no mess. He told me that I was good for three to four years. I felt that he was honest, efficient and reasonable. I'll be using him again.

They arrived on time, with the correct equipment for the job. They covered the carpeting. They worked quickly, answered my questions, and did not try to sell me any products or services I did not need. A great improvement over another service I had used in previous years.

They were professional and prompt and fairly reasonable. We will use them again in the future.

Gary called me back within three hours. After I explained my situation and house construction, Gary knew that he would not be able to do my particular job and suggested that I call an animal removal service provider. Gary was very helpful and courteous.

The service guys brought in their equipment, cleaned the chimney, did not make a mess, and were gone. Service took less than an hour. Very professional and courteous.

Looked on Angie's list and selected Century Chimney, Inc. Promised to call back within a half hour and they did! Set an appointment. They called to confirm appointment and to let us know they were on the way and actually showed up a few minutes early. Listened to the problem, replaced the cap and explained exactly what happen and why. Very professional, knowledgable and efficient.

After asking us a few questions, he told us that we didn't need to us him at all. We have a gas fireplace and therefore don't need a chimney sweep. We appreciated his honesty.

Another company - Clean Sweep Chimney - installed (poorly) a damper at the top of our chimney in fall of 2010. It never worked properly and we were unable to have a fire all winter because they were never available to fix it, and didn't return many phone calls. So I got this company's info from a friend that had been very happy. They arrived as scheduled, determined that the old damper was both poor quality and installed badly,, they removed it, and installed a new one, clearly a superior product. I was happy with the service and the price.

I just wanted to leave some feedback about my attempt to contact this company for some work. I usually try to locate the angies list award winners when I'm looking to have some work done on my home. I do a considerable amount of research on a company to make sure that they do solid, honest work. The reviews for this company seemed good online but I never received a return phone call for the two messages that I left. The voice mail message that I heard when I called stated that someone would call me back within 30 minutes, unless they were in a chimney working. Well, I've never received a return phone call for either of my messages. It's a shame because I wanted to get an estimate for some work from this company and they didn't return my call.

Gary and Greg arrived on time and were extremely professional and courteous. Fortunately for me, their inspection turned up no problem with the chimney. Turns out that the gas company had been out here during the exceptional July heat wave we had last week (the day they were here, it was 97 degrees outside with a heat index of over 100 degrees). Apparently there was not enough temperature differential between the air outside and the air inside (also the AC was running) for the air to rise up the chimney. Warm air rises, but since the air outside was already really hot, the inside air just wasn't rising as effectively as it should that particular day. Gary suggested I purchase and install a couple of carbon monoxide detectors--just to be on the safe side--which I will do. No further repairs were required.

I was very pleased with Century Chimney. I had them come out a few weeks prior to quote on the cap as well as several other repairs needed on my chimney. We opted only to install the cap due to budget reasons and I fully expect to have them back in the spring for the other work. And the delay in having them back for the installation was simply because I went on vacation in between. On both the initial visit and the installation visit, they were punctual and called me when they were a few minutes away. There were 2 men who came out, Gary and Greg, and both were polite and professional. They laid out tarps to keep my floor clean and went about their work immediately. The entire installation took only about 30 minutes and Gary showed me how to operate the new damper/cap. When they packed up and left, my house was as clean as when they came in. And they even had Chimney Sweep coloring books for my kids. I highly recommend them.

Scheduling an appointment was easy and they arrived as scheduled. They were efficient, pleasant, polite, personable and very gentle with the baby birds. They handled them and the nest with great care and humanely, which is very important to me. They explained possible costs at the time we scheduled the appointment and stayed true to their estimate. I was very pleased with the entire process.

His name is Gary Spolar and he is really good. He is a really nice guy and they do a good job for us. Somebody had rented this home before we bought it and there had been a huge fire down there with a huge log, which looked more like a tree trunk, thrown in the fireplace. We were really worried about the chimney and thought that it might need a new liner or something else. From the way things looked, any chimney sweep coming in could have said that a lot had to be done, but he looked at it and said that it was not as bad as it looked and that all it needed was a good cleaning. He just took care of it. They were very clean, professional and reasonably priced.

Very professional. Clean, prompt service. Wore shoe covers. Put down runners. Not a sign left behind when they left. Excellent in every way. Will call on them again and again.
